Playing overwatch should be a bannable offense. What a piece of shit game. It screams kiddie CoD shoota with TF elements n other stupid shit.

I agree. The trailer reminded me of this commercial:

They both strike me the same way.

This game is like TF2, and I don't see what makes it worse than TF2.
The gameplay seems to be focused on using special abilities rather than shooting. It's like a first person game for people who can't aim.

There are probably a lot of people out there who like the idea of a multiplayer FPS but aren't able to enjoy any of them because they can't shoot for shit. That's the target market for Overwatch.

This is more like TF2 meets Dota. Meaning, Overwatch is even less of a pure FPS than TF2 was.

Like HoTS, it's their way of keeping the skill ceiling low for casual players. The more uniform the abilities, the more skill comes into play. When you have 30+ 'classes' and 60+ wacky abilities then most of the matches are a cluster fuck.

Actually, the more uniform the abilities, the more predicitable the confronts are and vice-versa.

He didn't say anything about predictability. He's talking about skill. In Quake 3, you can pretty much predict what anyone is going to do, which is, dominate the map and frag your ass. The point is to beat them, which is easier said than done.

Predictability doesn't have much to do with player skill. As Lyric says knowing what someone is going to do and actually beating them in twitch skill/play are different things.

Look, it doesn't matter. All that counts in a game like Overwatch is the composition of your team. Individual player skill takes second place.

Lol knowledge is the main part of "skill",so less predictability increase the need for knowledge thus skill.
By skill I'm referring to reflexes and the ability to adapt/react more quickly than the people you're playing against. Even GI JOE knew that knowing was only half the battle.

Then don't use skill when referring to reflex.Everybody have reflexes, what set's people apart in every twitchy activity is training and knowledge. All goalkeepers in soccer for example have great reflexes ,but the best have better "skill" that has little to do with actual reflexes(some legends actually had mediocre physical abilities) and more with predictability, that you claimed had little to do with skill, which is simply not true.Like the old saying greatness is 10% talent 90% work.

That is what "skill" has meant in FPS games since the dawn of time. Is Overwatch your first online FPS or something?
Everyone may have reflexes, but getting the muscle memory you need to reliably click on a moving target across half the map requires practice, practice and more practice.
Mental skills matter too of course, but mainly in contests between opponents of nearly equal twitch skill.
