I'm probably overthinking this, but I don't get it.
As far as I can tell, there hasn't been any noticeable butthurt (or any other visible reaction) from Nintendo about Palworld.I'm probably overthinking this, but I don't get it.
Who exactly is the rager supposed to represent? Nintendo?
What exactly is the rager raging about?
It's like how people were assblasted over the success of Elden Ring, a game that spits in the face of modern game design (and pricing) conventions.Nintendo, but also lots of AAA devs who are butthurt about this game's success, and Nintendo fanboys who are butthurt about it being a "Pokemon ripoff".
There is a LOT of butthurt about this game making the rounds.
Closest we got was Nintendo issueing a DMCA strike against a mod that replaced the humans and animals with characters and creatures from Pokemon, but that was because the mod used assets that Nintendo owns the copyright of.As far as I can tell, there hasn't been any noticeable butthurt (or any other visible reaction) from Nintendo about Palworld.I'm probably overthinking this, but I don't get it.

AAA devs are the most jealous people in the world. They hate it when companies that violate their retarded design principles are successful.
Elden Ring's success caused a massive outrage because it's such a huge game, with minimal handholding, and challenging gameplay. There was a lot of raging about its difficulty and amount of content.
Baldur's Gate 3's success caused a similar outrage because it's a classic CRPG with lots of well-polished content. There was a lot of raging about how this is bad for setting gamer expectations too high, most devs can't afford putting that much high quality content into a game, etc etc.
Hogwarts Legacy's success caused a massive outrage because Rowling is a persona non grata among leftoids now due to not accepting trannies as women. Among the criticizers were AAA devs pushing for inclusivity and shit like that. But players don't care they just wanna play wizard school.
Now Palworld is causing a massive outrage among the usual suspects because it's an indie game made by an inexperienced dev team who just wanted to make an enjoyable game liked my a big audience (namely, American gamers who like guns).
Any game that even remotely goes against AAA ESG minimal effort design principles and achieves success is being seen as the devil by these people.
