Real time with pause is superior. I spent maybe about 30-60 min last night trying to push through the corridor in Pitax Royal Palace, and 30 more today, having cleared the palace in turn based. But the Skyrim meme 9 stealth archer up on the ledge just destroyed my casters in the first turn, plus the archers in the main group. Ridicules, playing on unfair. I tried using mass teleport through Linzis Escapist's crossbow to the archers, but turn based everybody gets to shoot at me and run up before I could get anything up.

On another try I accidentally hit the button to turn off turn based, imagine my fucking surprise when all my melee guys insta gibbs all the archers before the main enemy group even starts moving about, I manage to get Linzi to throw a Cacaphouns Call mass at the main group in the frenzy of it all and it got basically everybody, only the golems and troll left which was no problem for my guys, a wrap. Whole thing was over in less than a minute. Turn based really don't give any favours when you are fighting a large enemy mass won't use it anymore unless it is against some solo boss or anything where all the quick actions and stuff actually matters. It's just so ridicules to see your party wiped first turn while standing around holding their dick, reality is not turn based.

My party: Me Two handed Cleave Glavie specialist (I got the new glavie from the bedroom), Valerie Stalward Defender (Unstoppable Khanda), Octavia arcane trickster with good punching daggers but spells vs single opponent (Feeblemind, baleful transform, dominate, Disintegrate), Ekundayo dps, Jaethal doing good damage with frost scythe +2 and self buffs, Linzi for buffs and control spells.

There's always a viable strategy, even in turn-based, you just have to find it. Using RTWP in that manner is basically exploiting the game's poor mechanics. That said, you do you, the game can be a fucking bitch at times so I don't blame you for using that.

Hell, I did it in Wrath occasionally lol

Anyway for example if archers are pissing you off, you could try using some kind of damage reduction spell such as Protection From Arrows, or Stoneskin, those tend to be quite good against archers. Alternatively giving your back row Invisibility to start the fight can work wonders

True, maybe mass stone mass and protection vs arrows would have saved me. I have used stoneskin, but not often, don't think I have used protection vs arrows, not memorized maybe I carry a scroll. I did, Linzi, Octavia and Ekundayo all had greater invisbility, that bought me, one to two turns... Tried throwing up skeleonts and the pocket dragon on the ledge among the archers, they took no chaff at all just got ignored. That is why I resorted to teleporting my whole party up to them sense nothing else was working.

IIRC there’s a way in the palace to take out those archers before that fight.

Oh, would have loved to have had that opportunity.

If those archers in Kingmaker are giving you such trouble, you'd love a certain secret, hidden area in Wrath Alushinyrra.

Ehi girlZ,

I'm level 12 and in the Vordakai's Tomb (just arrived at the second level).
How far am I in the main quest?

I've seen that, generally speaking, the side quests are rarefied now and also easier to complete; that speeds my game a lot.
But on the other side, I see that main-quest's related quest become more and more and more long dungeon crawlers. And I have never preferred long dungeons to humanly acceptable ones.

You're about halfway through the Varnhold quest, but, as for your general progress, I think you're firmly in the second half. There's still a bunch of content, even more if you bother with stuff like artisan's quests, but the game becomes fairly straightforward at this point. If it's been feeling like a slog so far, despair not, the game most certainly has an ending screen that an average human can get to see within a natural human lifespan.

Thank you for your answer. I'm not in despair, generally speaking, but I'm surely more than 100h in it and it starts to feel too long for my standards, especially because, as I said, the dungeon are getting bigger and I don't love very long dungeons.

But it's not a bad game, I would be fool to depict it as a bad game. I'm loving it so far.

I detest time constraints, but I understand the reasons behind them.

P.s. After I clean Vordakai's Tomb, the timer for Varnhold's Vanishing "resets"? Because I have only 13 days left...

Unfortunately I can't remember how my experience with the timers went, but I think it's safe to assume potential bugs have been fixed. Which is to say, you're unlikely to trigger a failstate if you got the quest done. I think it keeps going even after the dungeon is cleared because there's a pseudo-objective at the end, aka mandatory downtime. It also might be related to the potentially more ominous Relic quest you should have in your journal.

I don't remember any timers "resetting" TBH.

If you dislike long dungeons, you might hate the semi-final one...

The plot is strictly controlled by the in-game timer, which starts as soon as Chapter 1 starts I believe.

Chapter after Varnhold isn't really a dungeon-focused one, but the semi-final dungeon is... divisive.

Thank you for your answers.

So, I must expect another very big, enormous, infinite dungeon soon...

P.s. Vordakai was the easieast fight in the whole tomb.
