Can someone explain to me why Soothing Performance is curing undead instead of damaging them? According to the description it should work like mass cure serious wounds, which should damage undead.

So that you can heal Jaethal with your bard?

I was messing around with Summoner from Call of the Wild mod trying to design most busted pet imaginable.
So... let me introduce you a Winged Serpent!
BEEA28268D37F04D265DE8DB9FAEB01D8A9BB20D
This thing got 7 natural attacks, 5 at full bab:
- 1 bite
- 1 Tail
- 1 Constrict (with tail)
- 2 Claw
- 2 Wing Buffets

It also got feats:
6F162DE957237DA9E4B28163B7C19D7E7C920FA2
And some tasty Eidolon abilities, like permanent Blindsight, Immunity to Crits and Precision Damage, 10/Lawful DR and Freedom.

Stats naked:
162D7D1631D97063441AD99D9D4E2186C0FADB22
And with some endgame equipment:
0915FC85A5823F64EB0CCB862E702E73619130A7

Cutie.
And it also got 30+ Trickery and opens the locks for me.

Nice. With Dirty Fighting from EA you can build a pet that Blinds, Disarms, Trips, and Sunders Armor all in one round.

That's with nerfed pet that CotW gives you. With Animal Growth working on CotW (it's bugged on main game) you can get pet up in the mid-50s STR.

Most of Eidolons have Outsider/Elemental subtype so Animal Growth is not working on them, nor Legendary Proportions. You could get them to Large and Huge through Evolution, but it eats away half of the Evolution Pool Summoner has on the max level. You could even build Eidolon using normal pet, but those could not get size evolutions and miss out on useful immunities.

So I would say that whole thing is not nearly as broken power-level-wise as it could be. Summoner's spellbook is pretty meh and he shares his equipment slots with Eidolon, so, for example, only one Stat Belt between the two of them actively gives its bonus.
In whole, I am really impressed how well everything works. I did some extensive testing before starting my run and encountered only minor bugs.

You should name him Hakkar

Thanks! I was still thinking about a name, since he really deserved one after all tanking, clawing and trap disarming he already did for me.

Well, it will take some time to get to the Winged part, but there is nothing that hard work and xp hoarding could not do.

if only skill user gets xp option is turned on and you use pet to disarm traps, does your mc get the xp or is it lost?

In Eidolon case, Summoner MC gets xp properly and that sweetens the deal a lot since Eidolon could choose 2 skills as his class skills at level 2, got a really solid DEX and you can slap +6 Skill evolution on top of this. Only issue - it is not "present" for textbook events and dialogues, so actual character with highest skill value would be chosen instead. Does not harm trickery much, but for persuasion it would be a deal breaker. Big question if his Perception would be accounted for on worldmap too.

I guess same should hold true for normal pets with this mod.

There is Cloud infusion that is almost the same damage-wise, only difference that you can't put Trip infusion on it and it does not create difficult terrain. It becomes available noticeably later though, Deadly Earth is on lvl 13 and Cloud on lvl 17 and requires composite blast with Air as one of the components (physical version of Air Element, not Electricity, but Air + Electricity will give Thunderstorm version of Cloud).

Beside, Fire > Earth > Air would give both and you could go nuts with Cloud (Sandstorm, Air + Earth or Plasma, Air + Fire) on top of the Deadly Earth (Magma, Fire + Earth).

Earth/Water/Air gives you Mud (water/earth) Deadly Earth and Sandstorm (Air/Earth) Cloud.

It means no Energy Blast to target Touch AC ans all composites is pure a Physical damage. Always targeting full AC hurts any Kineticist a lot.

Does it? You can just put a Wall/DE/Cloud on top of whatever you can't hit with single-target blasts. Requires a bit of management for your melee dudes to not step into lava, but it's not hard to do.

There is still no AoE until the wall on lvl 11 and that cripples characters for the first 2-3 chapters when the game at its hardest. Plus, ghosts in the last chapters get fully damaged by fire but mitigate huge portion of the Physical blasts, so it would suck for endgame too.

Granted, physical blasts are not as good in the early game. But those ghosts aren't tough or widespread enough to be a consideration for your build. And they take half damage from physical blasts, while a single element energy blast deals less than half the damage of a hybrid physical, disregarding metamagic, so there's not that much difference in damage dealt. Even if your kineticist can't solo them, that's why you have the rest of your party.

A pure physical kineticist may be a bit worse, but worse =/= suck.

Check this out comrades, Holic92 (creator of COTW) just dropped a hot new AI mod:

https://github.com/Holic75/KingmakerAi/releases/tag/0.1

Turn-based mod makes the actions fly by insanely fast but I counted each action:

1) Blasphemy (triggered by some sort of trap)
2) Cold Ice Strike
3) Quick Channel Negative Energy
4) Greater Command
5) Cold Ice Strike
6) Quick Channel Negative Energy
7) Slay Living

the video demonstrates the AI actually selecting disables or nukes based on enemy status

I asked Holic if it was scripted or dynamic, he claims its dynamic

I attach the conversation here for those that are interested

[17:45] Yosharian: @Holic92 I'd like to see the exact same fight except without the AI
[17:46] Yosharian: to analyse the differences
[17:46] Holic92: she will just spam slay living
[17:46] Yosharian: really? that is fascinating
[17:46] Yosharian: how do you get her to cast disables first?
[17:46] Yosharian: and not just spam them?
[17:46] Holic92: changed her ai considerations and memorized spells
[17:47] Yosharian: interesting
[17:47] Yosharian: yes but how does she know when the enemy is or isn't disabled?
[17:47] Yosharian: since she's not just spamming the disable spell
[17:48] Yosharian: or does she just cast the disable spell as priority and doesn't know the enemy status?
[17:48] Holic92: in this case, she does not, but you can make a complex consideration that will take it into account
[17:48] Yosharian: since she didn't open with Greater Command she MUST know enemy statuses
[17:49] Yosharian: so its scripted rather than dynamic?
[17:49] Holic92: no, it is dynamic
[17:49] Ze Dude!: Maybe she just has 1 use of blashemy on memorized spells and is always set to cast it first.
[17:49] Holic92: ai is based on actions
[17:49] Yosharian: no, Blasphemy was from a trap
[17:49] Ze Dude!: Oh, huh.
[17:49] Yosharian: and she knew the enemy was disabled because she didn't open with Greater Command
[17:49] Holic92: each actions uses considerations to calcualte its priority
[17:49] Yosharian: interesting
[17:50] Holic92: the action with highest priority in given circumstances is used
[17:50] Yosharian: that is remarkable work dude
[17:50] Yosharian: but how painstaking is the implementation going to be if you have to edit individual casters?
[17:51] Holic92: there are very few high level casters in the game, I suppose ~ 10 or something
[17:51] Holic92: so it is doable
[17:51] Yosharian: i see
[17:51] Yosharian: amazing
[17:51] Yosharian: Quick Channel, is that a COTW thing? not seen that before
[17:51] Holic92: yes
[17:51] Yosharian: your mod is going to have COTW as a master?
[17:51] Yosharian: or optional?
[17:51] Holic92: yes, and proper flanking2
[17:52] Yosharian: yikes
[17:52] Yosharian: well, i'd hope you'd consider a version for us plebs not using those two, but I understand where you're coming from
[17:52] Yosharian: either way, nice job
[17:53] Yosharian: will you release on Nexus when its finished?
[17:53] Holic92: proabably, although I'm not sure I'm going to work on it any more in near future
[17:53] Yosharian: may I ask why?
[17:54] Holic92: too time consuming
[17:54] Holic92: you can use a version from git, it should generally work
[17:54] Holic92: although I'm not sure if it breaks something in the game
[17:55] Yosharian: hmm, bit too risky for my tastes, still thanks for the mod anyway!
[17:55] Yosharian: what a shame that Owlcat doesn't have someone working on such things in the first place
[17:55] Holic92: well, I finished dlc2 and few bsl runs, without issues with it
[17:56] Yosharian: i see
[17:56] Holic92: and up to chapter 4 in main campaign

Finally finished it. It still remains an unbeatable game on steam (only 6% of owners finished it). And what a mixed bag it was. Hard to praise and hard to decline it. Basically it is for people who want to scratch their RPG itch.
Doubt I'll ever replay it since the first chapter of the game is... the peak. Everything is a slow but steady downhill from there, until late into the game it hits rock bottom and ends with an anti-climatic ending. Thousands of trash mobs, terrible dungeons and weak characters with their childly-emotional quests. And the sequel looks the same. I guess I'll touch it when I feel the urge to scratch my RPG itch.

Oh btw CotW is downloadable in Nexus, including latest version (or in this case only the latest version).

He disabled historical items and forums/comments tho. But you can get the latest version there.

On the latest version, he changed Animate Dead to actually animate a corpse (not sure if it requires humanoid one or not). On the description it said that it animates the corpse with the same stats and equipment at the cost of not being able to loot them after. I personally think this as a big nerf as Animate Dead was pretty much supposed to be the best meatshield spell in the game so I am refraining from using it for now.

Great to see someone finally had a go at improving the AI, but from my reading of the file it sounds like it's only for that specific necromancer fight currently?

It is not restricted to humanoid corpses, but the bipedal skeleton model is used for everything that's raised. It's actually both a nerf and buff, since though you lose the automatic 3-6 skeletons with a standard action wherever you point in range (which was way overpowered for spell levels 3/4), you get (potentially multiple) long-lasting scaling minions that'll actually be able to hit your foes beyond chapter 2. Still an overpowered spell for it's level, and will continue to overshadow create undead. Also, it's the summoned skeleton you can no longer loot, not the corpse it came from.

Who is the orange hair chick and the guy with the green hood? In that image I see: Amiri, Jub, Nok-nok, Jaethal, Tris, Valerie, Octavia, Reg, Harrim, and Linzi. But who are the other two?
