So how is an aldori defender duelist build?
A good balance between offense and defense if you play him like a two weapon fighter. I wouldn't get distracted by Aldori Duelist Mastery unless you're mixing in Magus for whatever reason. Instead, think of him as a two weapon fighter that gets some of the benefits of wearing a shield without having to actual wear one, and some of the benefits of attacking with an off hand without having to use shield bash. Splash Monk for Crane Style feats, and combine it with Steel Web for some delightful defensive fighting.

I am concidering making her a main tank of the party during some future evil playthrough. I think it is interesting idea because she ignores 95% of things dangerous to tanks.

Even without taking into consideration the mechanical implications of respec (of which there are many), it goes against the whole idea of roleplaying a concrete character.
"a wizard did it"
there, I fixed the roleplaying part for you.

Except not even the greatest wizard can do it in any D&D version.

:deathclaw:
I am pretty sure you can do it with a carefully worded Wish spell. And Greatest Wizards can cast those. And Greatest Clerics can cast Miracles that might also do something similar.

This discussion reminded me of that dude that time who said something like "in reality, wizards are..."

Best way to build Waifu Jaethal? Mixing some Thief levels make sense?
Two really decent ways. Make her a tank with Thug 1 and give her Dazzling Display. Unlike Valerie, Jaethal gets extra HP pumping her charisma and lots of enemy priests LOVE spamming negative energy.

Another option is turning her into an archer. She has decent stats for a Composite Bow user if you pump her dexterity, and it keeps her away from harm so you don't have to worry about her health much.

Folks, Imagine a person who left university and wants respec. Would he self-educate? Or would he go back to first class of school?
In properly made RPG, it basically doesn't matter if a person specialized in one class of weapons, and then he wants to use another, all the person needs is to spend effort to train in new weapon as well.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Can anyone that played Magus in this game explain to me what buttons should I press during combat to have all the best features activated :D
I am trying the Magus companion and I am confused how this is supposed to work.
I have both SpellCombat and SpellStrike active and I right click on Touch of Fatigue and click attack on enemy. What is supposed to happen? He should be attacking once and casting one spell through his sword and another in addition to the melee attack? I didn't notice him delivering two touch of fatigue..
Also I took Arcane Strike with him and turn that on.

You’re using a one handed weapon with nothing in the off hand right? And when you say you took Arcane Strike, you mean you turned it on, not that you took it as a feat right? Magus gets it automatically so you’d be wasting a feat.

You need to get within melee range, click on the enemy to attack, then click the spell and use it. If you target the spell from outside melee, sometimes you’ll just cast it rather than using spellstrike. Also, I don’t think you can enable Arcane Strike and attack and cast a spell within the same round. Pick two out of three.

Word from the developers:

Thanks for letting us know! We're very sorry this happened, and I think this should get fixed by Monday or so. In the meanwhile, I would advise playing on 1.0.5. until this gets fixed (you can choose the version through Steam or GoG Galaxy).

This is the trade-off of the "hotfixes instead of patches" approach: you get a lot of stuff fixed quickly, but some of the fixes will introduce new bugs. The overall "bugs fixed per day" is generally higher when going down the "hotfixes" route, but the experience is a bit more bumpy. Here's a quote from a different thread:

We are really sorry about this, guys and gals, but we stand by the strategy of fixing 30-40 bugs every few days, even if this means introducing 1-2 new bugs in the process. Not only do the numbers speak in favor of this - such incremental and highly iterative approaches are generally more effective and robust than their counterparts.

Also, as a general rule of thumb, I'd recommend keeping a few different save files just in case and not updating all of them when a new hotfix hits the deck. You can read up on where to find them (and on how to enable logging for quicker bug-fixing) over here: https://owlcatgames.com/content/reporting-bug

This kind of a total mess is called "Agile Development" these days.

I don't really understand why they wouldn't use the beta branch functionality of Steam to test the HotFix for a day or two first at least.

Decided to play some even if the current version is screwed up, but for some reason the game is choppy and laggy as hell now. Not sure what happened. Like the ram has been all chewed up or something.

The slow walking is getting on my nerves. I'm actually to the point where I fear having to walk to a fucking door because I might not need to.

Are all companion dialogue only at camp/base? So far, they seem like fucking lore dumps.

This game is making me appreciate PoE more as I get further. The dialogue seems too clunky and feel-good. The writing in PoE is superior. How much of this did Avellone write? I'm rather disappointed at the moment.

I might shelve this until the big update.

This game made spiders great again
Indeed, spiders stucking casual millenials on webs for a good punishing ten minutes, while gifted old men like me had freedom of movement spells memorized!
I took one look at that insanity, then immediately rerolled to a Conjuration Specialist so I could web everyone and everything. Also cackle like a madman. Then I discovered the horrible, horrible truth about Web.
Yeah. You've been cackling gleefullly at spider butt for the good part of half-an-hour...

Fallout 2 was (serious) bug free after grand total of like 2 patches but for TOEE even with CoO8 today people are afaik advised to never play ironman and avoid using quicksaves due to potential save corruption. You can't seriously just throw all those games in one bag with P:K. Most of the mentioned titles were fully playable with the first patch. I sincerely doubt it will be the case here. Hell, those half dozen hotfixes already have the amount of fixes worth more than the whole fixing of Fallout 2 had. And the game is broken at 1.06 more than it was at 1.0 is some ways.
They managed to release hotfix. Then release hotfix to hotfix which had critical bug. Which they remedied by hotfix for hotfix for hotfix.

And you can't even compare it to ToEE because Troika implementation of turn based combat was awesome. (And Troika allowed scribe scroll, without making silly excuses.)

I am using a Scimitar. I took the feat Arcane Strike and then turned the icon on. The game didn't show it as not recommended at lvl 3. Are you sure you are taking about that an not the abilities you get that use your limited arcane pool?
Ok, one thing still makes no sense. I can attack and cast a spell in same round with -2 bonus. I can also have touch attack spells be channeled through my weapon when I hit. Is that channel a bonus? Why would I want to channel that touch attack through my weapon that has lesser chance to hit if I can cast it in addition to the attack and just attack their touch AC?

God damn it I want to play this so fucking bad but all the new bugs like stacking magic item modifiers is making me want to wait. And despite that shit this is still easily the game I most want to play. Not to mention how chapter 1 was actually pretty stable and fine for me at launch and then shit's gone pear shaped after. This is killing me. :shredder:
I guess it's an excuse to keep slogging through Bard's Tale 4 but hour after hour of the Inshriach and suicide fairy puzzles is upsetting. Not to mention I've been playing on hard and my party's been situated the last however fucking many hours with almost no variation necessary

How long does it take for the pace to pick up again after the first 'main villain' has been killed? The game has suddenly become civ-lite with side quests.

You're supposed to be focusing on the main quests as to avoid plot related kingdom events which could fuck you over.

The spell doesn’t fire until you land a hit. If you cast shocking grasp and you miss, the spell isn’t wasted. It stays in the weapon and goes into effect as soon as you hit something. Also, if you land a critical, it applies to the spell damage, too.

Arcane strike is a wasted feat. You can’t use it with spellstrike, which requires your whole round. You already have an ability that gives your weapon +1 even if it’s limited by your arcane pool. Weapon enhancement lasts for an entire minute and unlike Arcane Strike it can be used with spellstrike and spell combat.
