Wear some heavy armour?

Trip attacks are CMD (Combat Maneuver Defense) which ignores armor. Plus we're talking about a tutorial fight at the beginning of the game. The wolves are supposed to teach you about camping, not rape you to death.
How the fuck does a wolf ignore platemail?

that's what happens when you directly adapt simplified pen and paper mechanics to a medium that could be far more complex without hindering the player's experience

There's definitely a bug in what feats it shows are available when leveling up multiple characters FYI. Level up one character, save, load to fix it.

anyone know what to do with the golden toad and the chest it came from?

unlike other chests, it doesn't disappear when empty so I assume something is meant to be put in it.

I'd like to know this as well. It can be equipped to the neck slot. I killed both mote and goblin leaders - maybe it had something to do with a quest either gives? Like the twigs you get from the leader's corpses?

Well now that i have played a tad bit more....like 30 hours more. I could safely say that the game is pretty good, the first chapter is shit tho. Later on the game opens up quite a bit,i am near the end of chapter two, level 9 and it is very satisfactory to see those wolfs turning in to mush in the first round :smug:. Also the hard battle are beginning to feel more fun than frustrating. I am in for a fun times the next few days, hope that the ending is not retarded. Also i hope that they stop using those timed quests, the journal is useless and thus nobody knows if he has met the demands or you are going to die in a few days.

Advice for anyone trying out a cleric: selective channeling is a TRAP. Waste of a feat due to mid-combat healing being a bad decision.

Also best domains seem to be Animal and Plant, the former gets an ANIMAL COMPANION at 4th level (absolutely bonkers) and the latter has Enlarge Person as a free action (great for melee fighters).
Willing to answer questions if people ask, I'm no Nerd Commando but still got plenty of experience playing the tabletop version.

I made a Sacred Huntsman Inquisitor and it's pretty amazing; you don't get the judgements but in return you get a pet that levels and grows with you, plus it automatically has all your teamwork feats so you're free to take some that only benefit your main character

guise question about dips.
Monks are restricted to lawful. if i start lawful and dip a level in monk for some of the feats/class features, then later on aligment shifts... I get taht i cannot levleup monk anymore but do i lose access to monk class features?

similarly paladin dips.
start as lawful good, 2 level dip in palladin for +CHA to saves, then level up other stuffies and alignment shits. no more pally levels thats ok but do i lose access to the palladin class features?
Per PnP you do.
but as per owlcat game?

The bugs in this game are pretty unforgiveable though. Lategame stuff SHOULD have been tested, but there's plenty of broken shit literally minutes in. Like for example, I took the Madness Domain, and the abilities it provides literally don't work. Timer counts down to casting and... my Inquisitor just sits there, doing nothing at all. Visions of Madness is a classic skill for putting on melee inquisitor because it helps offset their lack of martial skills but I guess testing the basic skills you can get at level 1 was too much to ask.

Did you try this stuff repeatedly? I noticed that when I tell my guys to charge, sometimes, even though it should work and they don't complain like they do if the skill can't be used for some reason, they just end up sitting there after their timer ticks down and do nothing. But other times it works...
I think sometimes the commands just don't work right in general or something?

My team has the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit.

Or just click the 'show unavailable feats'/'hide unavailable feats' toggle twice. When levelling up multipe characters, I have to do that for every character after the first. It's not a huge deal though, and faster than saving/loading.

No idea, sorry. But I'd be very surprised if you didn't lose all your Paladin abilities.

I charged the wolves (greatweapon fighter main, barb chick, shield chick)

Insta-gibbed 1 with my main who then helped barbie gib the second, shield chick survived long enough for the other two to come help her.
Bard chick plinked away with her stupid light crossbow, missing all shots or something haha. I actually thought she was shooting at some wizard in the distance or something because of how wide the bolts went. Maybe she was...

Were you playing on a difficulty with enemy stat inflation?

I often can't because it's completely greyed out and saving/loading is the only way to fix it.

No idea how they released it in this state tbh, I encountered the bug the first time I leveled up.

Anyone know if any of the new patches improved loading times? Or if there's a way to improve loading times in general? I have an SSD and it's still too long for me. It's especially annoying when I want to go check on my kingdom, so I have to go through 2 loading screens just to go see my kingdom interface, then I have to go back...

Odd. I've been playing since Tuesday and have never seen that. Wonder what the cause is.

I just did troll dungon on hard with 1 rest. pressed on because had only 11 rations, wasted every potion and wand of fireball and scroll of haste and hp potion and enlarged potion. cleared both levels until 3 branded trolls and final boss.

the big troll died of laughter. for some reason he was ignoring hold person. here's a thing about laughter - it locks monster in a particular animation, and it takes time for him to fall down and then get back up. And that is where you waste the motherfucker. Level 7 party.

Jubilost proved essential of course.

Here's a thing about this fight on Hard+. You might want to kill actual kobold first because he buffs the boss, but he is a mastah +22 concentration defensive caster and fully buffed +concealment +decent hp, so unless you have some sort of 100% way of dealing with him (maybe you're lucky with dispels, idk) trying to kill him is a waste of time. And splash damage from acid flask did trigger his concetration checks anyway for me.

Instead focus on the boss with as much damage as possible, and create an extra hp buffer through summons. Here there were some skelengtons and leopards and uberbuffed bear (splatted on the floor with giant trollclub on the picture, but he did his duty) for that. Then it's just maximizing damage. Sure Tartuk can paralyze you, but he may choose wrong targets and he also likes his prebuffing and magic missiles, and targeting your weaker characters, so you have the time. His Will save is strong but with both perks of spell focus Enchantment Lindzi eventually did her thing.

fyi who you kill first has an impact because you can save the other
not sure exactly what it impacts(beyond drops, if you kill both I guess you get both drops), but, yeah.
