I don't have a problem at all with "strong female characters", far from it, but I do have a problem with making female characters strong by having them be insanely awesome at everything.
It's pissing me off that "strong female" has to be associated with being physically strong; women and men have different strengths and it could be portrayed accordingly, yet modern developers insist on creating Prosper-style creatures with musculature impossible to achieve without steroids, just to prove a false claim that "women are as fit to be heroes as men".

its a high fantasy game. Women can be as strong as a super saiyan or weak as a mouse. If you want realism fantasy women go watch grim dark shit like game of thrones where women deceptively take anal and master the art of sucking cock to learn a local lords tax break secrets.

I'd like the good high fantasy story that they said they'd make, thank you very much.

Agreed, and since nothing has to be realistic, why even have genders?

Everyone can be hermaphrodites and have a swiss army knife array of different sexual organs to have sex with each other and every manner of other living thing.

Now that "fantasy" means "everything can be absurd" there's no limit to the depravity.

The devs getting the blame for Amiri is a little harsh. The iconic characters are all made by Paizo.

When I read this my initial reaction was; hope the writing is better than this shit. Then I noticed one of the developers had responded in the comments section:

"When I recreated Amiri as a PC for a game, I gave her the much same origin, except that she managed to defeat the frost giant by combining trap building and luck. And she didn't kill her clanmates, but was abandoned by them during a fight on a trip to Sandpoint, which was enough to get her to quit the clan."

Good man. Much more sensible.

It's not just the characters that are created by Paizo but also the storyline. This game is an adaptation!

So if you're curious, really curious about the story, just go download the Kingmaker campaign sourcebooks from somewhere and find out.

I hate to break it to you, but that's just some random guy talking about his table-top game back in 2014, and has nothing to do with the devs of Pathfinder:Kingmaker.
If anything, I expect them to stick as close to the source as possible, just in case to divert any blame for "too much/not enough" sjw shit to Paizo.

This and this again. The issue is not about power, as they could make the woman a mighty sorceress or a wealthy merchant owning the land or an influential noble pulling all the strings... damn, they could make her a goddess more powerful then any strongman in the world! Yet they insist on the ridiculous hurr durr melee combat gurlz beat everyone. It is like they deliberately chose the one thing women are worst at in a collective denial of reality.

Like this.

Hyperreality.

"If we chant that women are stronger than men, and make all fictional representations of women follow this rule, then it will become the new accepted reality."

The marxists specifically know how false the depiction is, and that is why, like having the most compassionate and competent man in a film be a negro, they specifically choose to present a false reality to their viewers. Because it slowly becomes the unconscious social reality, if not the physical reality. It is deliberate.

This thread turned into: “I can’t get laid but at least women are weaklings, why are games trying to take that away from me?”

This thread just metamorphosized into: "I am a male ally of the feminist agenda, and if I can just call non-cucks virgins loud enough, I can finally stop creeping and hoverhanding on my feminist female allies and actually get rewarded with sex. Soon, virginity, you will be a distant memory!"

Just how is this discussion related to Pathfinder Kingmaker?
Anyway this discussion comes 60 years too late women are in the army and a lot of young men now use make up. There is absolutely nothing we can do about it.

I just think that the description of Amiri given by the dev is a really tired trope. I don't give a fuck if it's pro or anti SJW.

My team has the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit.
The last three pages of pointless bitching (as if the game and character weren't based on existing content and 'woman warrior' wasn't a concept that long predated SJWism) are prime Codex.

I'm more worried with Paizo retarded art styles of the weapons, those retarded anime swords shouldn't be on any self respecting RPGs.

What's wrong with having a female barbarian?

They didn't make all the female characters a warrior or barbarian, there is plenty of rogues, wizards and other kinds female characters out there. Also if you think these warrior type woman is only there for "female empowerment", you are underestimating the male nature.

You're a king, if she pisses you off just execute the bitch. Nice family day out for the peasantry as well, have a picnic and watch Amiri dance the gallows jig.

Can we execute all the companions I wonder?

Oh wait it's fantasy, broken necks and strangulation don't have to lead to death.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker Beta #10 - Old Sycamore

We wave goodbye to the kobolds and head over to visit with the mites. Other than a few combats, this video is in all honesty a painful and somewhat confusing series of rest attempts as Shane tries to suss out the intricacies of the game's resting system.

Notice, I didn’t call anybody a virgin, but now that you mention it... Let’s just say, the wingnut doth protest too much, methinks.

There is nothing modern about the concept of Amiri. The fierce barbarian warrior woman is among the oldest tropes in western literature. They’re all reflections of Penthesilea.

She first shows up in epics about the Trojan war written in the 7th or 8th century BC, although she doesn’t make an in person appearance in the Iliad itself. Maybe the ancient Greeks were Marxists? I bet they read a ton of Baudrillard back then.

Here’s how she’s described in the Aeneid:
“The ferocious Penthesilea, gold belt fastened beneath her exposed breast, leads her battle-lines of Amazons with their crescent light-shields…a warrioress, a maiden who dares to fight with men.”

Virgil liked the idea so much that he created Camilla as a knockoff character. Can you believe the balls on that guy? I guess Virgil was a social justice warrior, too, huh?
