SO i guess a paladin will simply melt the opposition? or are most of the enemies chaotic?

85% of enemies are cultists or demons which are Evil so yeah Paladin is good in WoR. at least up to Ch 3. Considering the theme, this probably lasts for the whole game except I don't know, the last act of Evil Mythic Path probably where the crusade will probably turn against you.

They have no problem with Devil worshippers in their rank, so I imagine it's a "lesser evil" kind of deal.

I'm more surprised that they have no problem with a PC on the Demon mythic path leading their armies.

Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire
dlc is pointless if its obvious developers cut content left and right. Pillars of eternity 2 for example when the main game is cut corners skinny in content I don't care about the additional 4-5 dlcs.

Deadfire is hardly 'skinny" The end game main quest is obviously rushed & cut. But the rest is hardly "skinny". Its a pretty huge game, actually.

I wouldn't say they have "no problem" with either of these. I believe that all your companions and advisors except for Lann and Camellia have objections to the Hellknights (even though they are not all even devil worshipers) joining you.
But, like the Hellknights, the commander is tolerated if he gets results.
At least until later in the game based on the file leaks.

I read up on the leaks as well, Swarm seems pretty intense.

It looks like that will be the mythic path where you will have no companions by the end.

Any leaks in regards to the Devil path?

This seems a crazy amount of branching, wouldnt mind waiting even until 2022 as long as they get this game to reach its full potential.

Looks that way to me also.
Based on the Swarm you meet at the end of the Alpha I can hardly blame anyone for not enjoying your company.

The only thing I've seen is that it appears to branch off of the Aeon path.

No the only leak we have so far is the one we saw in this very thread, that there is a devil mythic path in the code. Plus everything else in alpha, along with the the hints from the Aeon writer.

Swarm just seems... (spoilers)

You're so evil and full of hatred that you get smited my Iomedae, because she wants you to give up your powers and you're that dangerous. Apparently your companions hate you so much that some spit on your grave lol, if it's true. But then you reform yourself through pure hatred and eat everyone, It seems your companions are gone at that point as well. The leaks do detail that you will switch your path from your earlier one, leading credence to the actual switch. If you switch to swarm and you're Azata you literally eat your pet dragon.

"With a frightened cry, the dragon tries to escape, but too late - the swarm covers her with an insatiable living cloud. A moment - and nothing remains from the little herald of Elysium, but a fleeting feeling of satiety."

As I said intense.

Swarm is far too evil for me, I think I will stick to Lich and possibly devil.

Can you even call Swarm evil? He's just hungry

It's pretty evil, I mean you have all the other paths in front of you, you have divine mythic power and you choose to shape it into becoming a literal swarm that only knows hunger and hatred. Compared to the other evil paths-

You're the worst one, neither the gods or demons like you.

A devil, is well a devil. You have structure, a corrupted one, but structure all the same. Plus the good gods actually deal with devils.

Demons, still have ambitions, they still make allies and the like. Even though they're chaotic evil.

Lich, you can do it for power, but part of the quest is essentially "whatever it takes to kill the demons".

Swarm, is utterly alien,
it only knows hunger, hatred and is basically a black hole that wants to devour everything and everyone.

With the Swarm path, I doubt that you'd even maintain your own consciousness. Sure, the swarm has your memories and what not, but is it really you? It's the fantasy version of the dilemma of the transference of one's consciousness into a robotic body.

Well... from my understanding of the leaks (If they are true)

The pc is still there in the swarm, but you control the swarm. At the end point your an entity of hunger and hatred. That's what makes it evil, you choose to consciously become such an entity. This line here in the leaks shows you are still there when you eat a certain important character.

[Devour the Queen]
'I couldn't let the demons kill you. You will be a treat for the swarm'
'Oh goddess! Protect my people from this...' The Queen doesn't have time to finish her prayer - she no longer has a face or tongue. Sweet flesh, saturated with elixir of eternal youth, melts in your many stomachs.'

Yeah, but that doesn't prove that it isn't the swarm mimicking the personality that the PC had in life rather than it being the same consciousness remaining intact in a new form.

I want to play Swarm in games where I hate the companions, like DA2 and DAI, maybe dumpsterfire too. Would be a cool FUCK ALL YOU!
