nice, if you go the lich way how does the rest of the crusade deals with you? you practise lichdom openly?

Oh I forgot to answer this question. What's interesting is that the normies don't care about you being a possible lich, it's more the case that since you have divine power and apparently been blessed by Iomedae, the dead normally don't rest well in the world wound anyway and the normies actually see you as the final reckoning. Also your resident smuggler doesn't care all that much, you just opened a new market. But he warns you that the normal powers that be (paladins, queen etc) would move against you at the first opportunity. But won't since you're killing demons.

The normies have more of a problem with Aeon, afterall you pretty much go Big Brother on them.

So basically since you are blessed by Iomedae they tend to see it as Dead accomplishing what Life couldnt ? Makes sense i mean if Iomedae blesses necromancer then its clearly desperate attempt to stop Demons approved by Higher ups.

Part of the plot is figuring out the source of your divine power, but that's how the normies feel about it. You're killing demons, you're doing a good job they are pretty much shrugging at the undead. What's even more interesting.

You get to speak to an important npc sent by the goddess.

You speak to her herald, he pretty much doesn't care, you're slaying demons so he overlooks the whole necromancy thing. It's the queen who is more annoyed about it, but there are hints of overall jealousy in her dialogue due to your mythic power.

And we are talking about Chapter 3 where you are a Necromancer that seemingly uses it to fight the demon. You are yet to get to the point of "MWAHAHAAHA BOW TO MY BONY SELF MORTAL"

I would like to see how the people think when you went full EVIL LICH.

Did they change anything mechanically around combat maneuvers? Specifically, can you use them in full attacks now and stuff?

You're slowly heading to that point anyway, the theme owlcat seems to be pushing in this game is what would you sacrifice for the sake of power? What would you give to defeat the world wound? Aeon sounds good, but you're basically big brother, the queen doesn't seem all that fond of Azata and trickster? Well... they're pretty out there.

Since in chapter 3, by that point you have cleric's of urgathoa walking around preaching/converting, skeleton guards and vampires. Right now I'm testing if the clerics will remain if you pick a certain choice during the lich questline.

plus as a lich you cant give her the D so extra upset time.

With the Swarm path, I doubt that you'd even maintain your own consciousness. Sure, the swarm has your memories and what not, but is it really you? It's the fantasy version of the dilemma of the transference of one's consciousness into a robotic body.
Is it based on the worm that walks template?
https://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/worm-that-walks-cr-2/

The concept sounds a bit like one of many from NWN2, or maybe the fantasy version of the borg. Could be interesting. But if it's just a "...and then you eat them" option added to every dialogue, then not really.

If you buy it on Owlcat own Website I think the key will be there? The Alpha is distributed from their Website so I think the final product key would too.

Speaking of pre-orders, why won't Owlcat just open up a Steam page for the game and allow purchase of the EA directly from there?

I imagine they're wary after how disastrous their original launch of KM was. It's well-liked now and ultimately sold well but launch reviews were savage (and rightly so cause the game straight up didn't work). Making sure everything's polished before release probably seems tempting after that.

Fair enough. On that note, how long is the EA anyhow - only the first chapter?

The first 3 chapters (but probably missing some side content that these chapters will have on release), so roughly half the main plot.

Do they plan on expanding upon the number of playable chapters prerelease? And also, how does the end of chapter 3 feel - is it a decent cliffhanger as to justify playing it for the story or would you say that the alpha is more suitable for combatfags interested in playing with the different builds available in the game?

I very much doubt that they will add more of the main plot. In my opinion what they're likely to add is additional polish and maybe more side content (the HoMM "Crusade Management" mode is quite barebones right now for example and that is an area I'd expect them to expand on).
I think it's worth playing for either story, buildporn, or a combination of both.

Alright, final question: can I unlock the Hellknight prestige class by the end of chapter 3?

You can unlock hellknight by the time you are named knight commander, by then I'm level six. That's right after act 1. So who knows if the increased reactivity comes to fruition we might have Regill reacting to your class and order.

I think Reggil is Armiger Fighter 5/Hellknights 1? So it should be more than possible

And you get HK companion so might want to try for Signifier for veriety reason.

But be warned that Arcane Prestige Class is buggy right now, you do not get spells on level up for Arcane Caster PrC.

I was going to play Paladin, but fuck that.

I want to be the calvary, so Cavalier it is.
