Btw artbook is really fun to read.

Ork -
a stalwart paladin of Iomedae, it was her who rallied troops of the destroyed Kenabres and pushed back against the demonic invaders
Kween -
the crusader queen who's been fending demonic armies for more than century
Tranny -
adept at discovering conspiracies and foiling plans of cultists before they have a chance to strike

If you write scrolls with Metamagic, does that stick when casting them?

Some nice C&C, from the Molten Scar encounter in A3

Man, I just started Act 3 but Trickster is shaping up to be the honsker I always dreamt to be. The opening scene in the closet is more or less a small version of the Kodex, with less namecalling. Socothbenoth can be considered the mandatory forum tranny.

Path is great both story and mechanics-wise, gets even better as you go on. Beginning of Act 5 is especially great.

Yes, and in general scroll scribing in this game is like tactical nukes manufacturing. I won Wintersun village boss fight basically by casting one DC 35 slow from scroll.

Desiderius what do you think about mythic abilities for melee characters? I picked Unrelenting Assault expecting more encounters like the tavern assault, but it has been extremely underwhelming for the entire act 2. Mythic Charge sounds great, but I never charge because I usually just move + Vital Strike / Great Cleave, and I don't have a Skald to get Pounce. Then there are Leading Strike, Ever Ready, and Rupture Restraints. I like all of them, any thoughts? I'd pick Rupture Restraints, but it sounds like a very weird thing to implement and I wouldn't bet on it being bugs-free.

What about picking Enduring Spells on a Paladin? You could persist Veil of Heaven and Veil of Positive Energy, then with Greater Enduring Spells there are Crusader's Edge, Archon's Aura, and Bestow Grace. Again, it sounds a bit like a waste, but I don't what else to pick. I will definitely go for Abundant Smite, but later down the line. By the way, is Crusader's Edge working correctly for you? The nauseating effect works, but I can't seem to get the bane property.

Good question. Leading Strike is great but only in RTwP combined with a steady hail of arrows to keep cashing them in. Inspirational Leader is also superb but I haven’t tested whether it stacks yet. I’m trying Ruptured Restraints on my main and it’s gold if you rest before the hardest fights where you really need it. Saved me more than once but it can burn out fast on things like a random Shaken. Can’t go wrong with Ever Ready.

Crusader’s Edge Bane ability shows up in log as an additional Enhancement bonus. Need to keep it up as much as possible.

What are you playin as, if I may ask? Sorry if you already said it but I only make small forays itt to avoid soilers.

PC was martial, respecced a few times around variations of Mutation Warrior / Two-handed Warrior / Rowdy / Thug. Started as a Genderme but mounts were too janky.

Perception 2 gives insane feats for the whole team, but they can't be selected with any bonus feats, so they will burn a lot of them.

Pretty sure the DC is bugged and too high.

Have to test it, but if everything works right it means you could get 24h Haste from Trickster with UMD 2.

His warrior with a sword can go full gear and he still will gonna lose to your char naked.
No, seriously, and you call martials stupid while playing one-button pew-pew "supragenius wizzord". Both my paladin and fighter-inquisitor in ddo has more buffs to press at the start of dungeon than all your buttons combined. Probably my inquisitor has higher int too.

As a guy that started playing D&D when playing a plain fighter made sense, I feel you both. The proble is that, in current year, if you want to play a front line char, you need to be a gish of some sort or to nerf the difficulty level into oblivion. Unfortunately the game is balanced around frontliners able to reach ungodly levels of AC and simply avoid as many attacks as possible via reach/concealment. Enemy numbers are also super-inflated, a common problem in any D&D crpg derivate. The underlying formulas the players need to dick around remain the same so degenerate classes are favoured simply because it's less of a chore to play with an uber tank or an ungodly number of summons or whatever...

This just isn’t the case and people are gimping themselves to oblivion trying to reproduce whatever ghosts you guys are chasing. Pls stop with this shit.

DC grows with amount of levels scriber got, but caster level remains normal.

Meh, all win more. Nothing other classes can’t do just as well if not better.

The Trickery Dispel is far and away the most meaningful ability along with the Arcanas. Perception 3 may well be worth it. Nature 1 gives each character a random cooking bonus from P:K.

Nenio is truly horrible, retarded char, stupid voice acting, and a furry.
But it's the only mage, at the start I had the money for only 1 merc and I did chose to make a Cleric (and I avoided without knowing Sosiel, which I don't know if its a bearable character but surely has the gayest look in his picture I have ever seen. Also 10 dex).
If it was possible like in kingmaker to make all mercs at oleg's for 50 bucks each, it would have been a no brainer.

Desiderius, since you rated my post were I explicitly referred to "a plain fighter" as fake news, I ask again, could you please elaborate on what you mean? I don't consider the later OP martial classes to be plain fighters if that's what you had in mind. Do you play the game as a single class fighter or barbarian?

Pls, elaborate. I don't think I could roll any martial stronger than my current main but I'll listen.

What difficulty?

Every equipment slot is valuable with all the unique bonuses on the Armor and there aren’t the high AC Bracers to support going naked. Burning a Mythic on Archmage and/or a level splashing Monk and chasing off class stats for WIS-to-AC has massive opportunity costs.

Just hit 52 AC on my lvl 13 Swordlord with Mithril Medium. But also gets +4 base dam when flanking doesn’t need to prebuff has 50% fort bonus doesn’t trigger AoOs when standing up etc, etc, because I’m using the proficiencies that come with the class and am not late in getting to them since didn’t have to splash.

I play on core, increased enemies, additional enemies abilities, some additional difficulties, cannot remember atm. Since I know the system pretty well, I find it fun to break it with OP classes and combos when I play SP.

Edit: Ah. Swordlord. I see. Disregard everything I said then. That's far from being a plain fighter D&D style.

Is metamagic grease worth investing in, especially if I don’t have ascended elements for my mages ?

Plain Fighter is insane. Wend with Dual Throwing Axes and Fighter’s Tactics + Seize the Moment + Greater Snap + Ever Ready is as good as it gets. And yes the Armor Training on that is better than Mutation.

lore question: aren't demons who dies on the material plane supposed to resurrect in the abyss? so they don't really "die"?

Currently my main is motherless thiefling Vivi 8/Monk/Slayer(for funsie). Five attacks per round + gore from close to the abyss which I hadn't predicted going in blind, noice! AC at level 10 is just 48 but I have all my spells to increase prot so I'd say it's a tie. My main gripe is I have a bit of a low int to fully take advantage of the Trickster Mythic and I'd really, really, wanted to have the cha to intimidate eveyone and negate dex, but I suppose at that point I could simply use cheat engine.

Still, nice to see others breaking the game in diferent ways!
