On core difficulty there are some incredibly satisfying encounters in this. I just beat the dragon with the dwarf assassin part. Nice touch, having the CYOA text part lead into that, with a lot of skill checks to determine where you start, injury level etc. Moments like this make me wonder how anyone can write this game off.

Also, the dialogue if you fail to kill it is quite flavourful :)

There's really nothing much wrong with the game other than its teething troubles, the woke infusion and the writing needing editing (a lot of it's good, just some of it's unnecessary, etc.). The core game and implementation are sound, and it'll mostly be polished up nicely in a few months, no doubt.

IOW, most of the criticism is of the order of, "it doesn't fulfil my special snowflake criteria for the bestest CRPG eva, so it's shit." :)

Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture
I have also noticed that Owlcat changed implementation of auto-game-over when MC dies. It happened instantly in Kingmaker, but in Wrath combat seems to proceed for 1-2 full rounds with dead MC, giving player a chance to res him.
Imho, should make iron man easier, especially with 2 free resurrections from the scales.

But it is still ridiculous to promote the iron-man so early, with the current amount of bugs in the game.

Holy fuck, this game does not pull punches. I rolled Kingmaker pretty easily but WotR is something else. Getting the shit kicked out of me on Core in chapter 3; first the dragon (I had to go back and get Seelah for the fear immunity), then Blackwater where literally every fucking thing has at least 40AC. This game seems to be designed with the assumption that you're going to powergame; those scaled fist / vivi dips appear to be the expected way to play the game. I'm definitely going to be more careful with my build from now on, though I do hope I wouldn't have to resort to respeccing the companions.

The fact that "difficult" with the PF games really means difficult is quite refreshing. People have gotten so used to difficulty inflation over the years that they don't take difficulty standards at their word any more - I think in this game you really should, and you should only play on Core and up if you're more interested in challenge than story, really know the system well, etc.

I think the game is nicely balanced around Normal/Daring, which make it mostly a chunky power fantasy with a few difficulty spikes. It's best for playing the game as a gesamtkunstwerk and finishing it before Christmas.

The amount of bugs is really exaggerated, it's nowhere near kingmaker.

Iceplant ring says it works, but it doesn't show the bonus. Ring of the Tiefling doesn't work. Charges work, when the game wants to. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Those are just minor bonuses, unless playing above Core and needing to stack every + most people wouldn't even notice.

I am reporting them often enough to politely disagree.
What kind of bugs do you mostly erncounter, dear Smilodon ((C) Pink Eye)?

Broken class mechanics? Missing UI clues? Discrepancies between descriptions and in-game work? Stacking of what should not stack and not stacking of what should?

Or are there falls into textures, disappearing companions or pets, crashes to desktop, corrupted saves?

It's kind of important.

Oh, you are playing wizard. I see you are a man of culture as well. Good luck, I found chapters 1 and 2 extra tough with a Wizard compared to my current Melee Cavalier.
It gets easier at level 5 with haste and other buffs / debuffs, before that I highly recommend rolling the generalist wiz as there's no one-trick pony approach to averything (like sleep / color spray / grease in the first game) in Wrath (they even had upped the CR of all tough enemies to 5 to make sure your cc spells won't work)
what you don't read can't harm you.
Can confirm, I've killed Sirus and the uber-bosses in PoE (the good one, that is, not obsidian one) and I still don't know who the hell "ezomyte"(or anything else) is...

yes, I'm aware the game has stat bloat, but it's an innate part of the ruleset.
Ruleset in which your level, stats and build makes no difference, you basically are defined by your gear and the set of "iwin" sourcery buttons. Also, you are shoehorned in one exact strategy (burst down armor -> cc) for the whole game, which makes it a slog to go through. I only got some fun and challenge because I did not go in a supposed way in Chapter II (accidentally went into the mines first) and got sourcery abilities at the very end of the chapter. Aside that, the game is absolutely linear in terms of progression.
DOS2 AI uses utility theory when evaluating what move to make with a lot of factors considered
DOS has a tiny set of possible actions so the appearance of advanced AI works better, although I remember a lot of retarded moves (like clustering NPCs together that makes them prime target for aoe sourcery spells or melee attacks) basically wholethrough the game.

Just ran into a funny bug when my Trickster picked up the UMD 3 and Athletics 1 tricks.

For some reason he started using his athletics trick to dispel any buffs he had cast on him (even those he cast on himself!)

I fell thru geometry only once when using lift in chapter 4 mines. pets companions, etc never disappeared.

certain skald songs stopped working and quickload wasnt helping but complete restart helped. I assume a lot of things are breaking like this without me realizing.
a lot of uncommon bonuses are missing from breakdowns, but total shown is usually correct.
aivu was big, then small, then big again. my already limited time to ride the dracodoggy was further limited

Another disappointment I had was I remember reporting song of senses being wonky in beta, it seems they just cut it out of class (at least i dont see it in class table). its nothing important but speaks of laziness

Just made it to the ivory sanctum and things are starting to get buggy. Lots of lost turns during charges, summoned enemies getting an additional turn, and while this last one might not be a bug: citizen boulder decided to show up

Oh and my favorite bug so far: the game decides to not let my cavalier take an action but wont let me skip his turn so I have to reload. Truly in awe that some of you managed to marathon this game in a couple of days with all these bugs.

The whole note is about a poor artist that keep offending people by accident. Seems a bit out of place in a game with all these strong transwomen of colour?
