Make the Codex Great Again! Pathfinder: Wrath
Yeah KM had better henchmen and story but WOtR has mythic paths and enduring buffs.

Both games have a high amount of pozz but I think WOtR has more pozz with forced tranny advisors at least in KM you can kill the fuck henchmen straight away.

Why Kingmaker is better than this game :
  • Less power creep
  • Less slog, only the last 1/8 of kingmaker is a slog, compared to the last 1/3 of wrath
  • Way more content
  • They don't threat good as egalitarianism. Being in good in kingmaker is being generous, caring from others, Aristocracy is well depicted. Anything anti egalitarian in wrath is evil.
  • More unique story, about taming a savage land, dealing with ancient curses and so on, instead of the generic "kill demons and save the world"
  • Much longer game
  • "epic" enemies are threatening. Spawn of Rovagug for eg, is a memorable enemy. In Wrath, even Archdevils are cakewalks.
  • Numbers are smaller
  • Feyfolk is interesting and all lore of eldest, first world, I loved it.
  • Ice Prison Strength check DC is not bugged.
  • EDIT : Game journalists got butthurt over kingmaker but not over wrath.
This game still amazing, but Kingmaker is better.

Last chapter of Kingmaker was dope. A house with a totally unique layout that was a puzzle in and of itself. Challening battles vs mandragora swarms. Every companion who you didn't completely solve the emotional issues of dying.

Why Kingmaker is better than this game :
Couple of weird statements:
Way more content
Very questionable both in Story, if we account for all 6 major Mythic paths and closely tied for the pure adventuring content, like big maps/dungeons. It is distributed differently, with Kingmaker opening most drastically in Chapter 2, where you additionally get access to the parts of adventure map belonging to the chapters 3 and 5, but Wrath's biggest chapter is 3, where we get Wintersun, Blackwater, Laboratory, Ivory Labyrinth and Midnight Fane all in one chapter. And Alushinyrra is what Pitax should have been - a real city.
Owlcat also learned a lot after Kingmaker - Wrath's maps are usually bigger and more complicated, with some pseudo 3D.
"epic" enemies are threatening. Spawn of Rovagug for eg, is a memorable enemy. In Wrath, even Archdevils are cakewalks.
Spawn of Rovagug is from Kingmaker's third DLC. It was released half year after the main game and right now is like the worst example imaginable.

Well, charge seems massively improved already since the previous patch. It now seems to work decently well.
Note I haven't tried using reach weapons lately... or riding a huge mount.

But riding a large smilo works fine. Even better in fact, since they now allow you to full attack after mount movement (in pnp you'd need a high level, 14 BAB feat for that).

Mounted feats do something now? Might finally start a proper cavalier run, which I planned to do originally when game got released.

Kingmaker last chapter was a slog at release, not now, it's a good dungeon.

Much more enjoyable than enigma.

The Power creep is absolutely great. It's fun, gameplay wise and narrative wise.

Just to make that clear, that should not always be the case but for a single game it's great.

For me, Wrath has better replay value due to mythic paths while Kingmaker offers a more satisfactory adventure overall. I still think I prefer Kingmaker to Wrath but replay value is such an important aspect for build porn games like these that I'd be very hesitant to declare Kingmaker as the objectively better game.

Challening battles vs mandragora swarms.
They are not challenging per se, just annoying. When you first encounter them in chapter 4 or 5, it's just praying that our dear resilient girl Jaethal would be their first target and hitting swarms with every thing that you have. Elemental Body is probably helpful too, but I cannot remember it now.

All this cavalier talk reminds me, as someone that prefers martial classes, that cavalier was such a huge letdown in this game. When you can charge, the class is great, but charge is just so limited by unforgiving pathing and bugs. On tabletop you can really fat finger if someone has a valid charge path, but in this game it's cripplingly strict.

The class is capable of eye-popping things, even my defense focused Cavalier charged for 1,2k damage on core difficulty... but the highs are very high but the lows are very often.

Collector’s Editions are on the way!

Hello, crusaders!

Looks like it's been a while since our last update! We hope things are going well for you, whether you're slaying demons in the Worldwound or doing more peaceful activities. The Owlcats haven't been idle either: we've been patching the game and sending out Boxed Editions.

Sadly, we ran into production problems. We found a defect in one of the items that came with the Collector's Edition. This delayed these items from being shipped, as the manufacturer needed to redo the batch. But fear not - now all defects have been fixed, and we will begin sending the Collector's Editions at the end of this week! We will be sending them out in small batches, so next week some backers will receive their Collector's Editions.

We are very sorry for this delay. Right now we are doing everything to get your rewards arriving as soon as possible. Also, if you have problems with any of your rewards, please, email us at team@owlcatgames.com and we'll solve your issue. And one more thing: if you haven't already entered your address for delivery of the physical rewards in the pre-order portal, please do so!

To arms!
