Backed it last night a little before cut off. Some of the stretch goals read as so strange that I wanted them to hit as many boxes as possible. (And heck, was gonna end up buying it eventually.)

Really hoping that some of the current voice acting is placeholder though.

I Remember the Heroes of The Crusade.

The Brave Sir Placeholder- Army Sergant w hose very voice could drive men onwards, to escape him, they were more scared of him than the enemy.

Lady Undepowered- Who despite her weakness continued and continued and never gave up.

And many others.

They're from the first game, we've seen barely any assets from the sequel.

Here's to hoping they follow a similar trajectory and Owlcat's third game is Baldur's Gate 3: For Real This Time.
Don't count on it. It will more likely be Pathfinder 2E: Icewind Dale edition.

We have seen Kingmaker, so we have seen at least half the assets of the sequel.

And now you've done it a third time. Congratulations. You're so much more superior than the guy for having thread all 284 pages.

HOLY FUCK I AM PUMPED NOW I AM PUMPED

The 2th edition of Pathfinder is disgusting as a PnP system, but maybe it could work in a videogame adaptation. But they have an endless amount of modules to adapt after WotR, if Paizo forces Owlcat to switch to the 2th edition they are worse than WotC.

I doubt they will switch to 2e while using this engine. But as soon as they decide to use an upgraded one, you can be sure that one will be 2E. And if they follow Larian example and go for AAA type game they will need a AAA type engine.

I was trying to say that what he was trying to imply was already proven wrong by previous posts

Am pretty sure that anyone who says that are just young Larian fanboys who never played any IE games.

Shadiversity said good things about D:OS2 and played BG1/2. I only purchased D:OS2 by his recommendation. Wish that i had purchased on GoG, so i could get a refund(around 6 hours played)

It's slow at first. Pissed me off that my MC had to summon his pet (precluding him from summoning anything else) and that you couldn't even do that until well into the game. But things pick up and the first island and 3/4 is solid. First boss fight and battle on ship immediately after are far more intimidating than anything in Deadfire, for instance.

Got worn down by having to regear every level by Diablo III style exponential stat growth. That and every toon getting the good skills made it hard to stick with it. Never made it completely off second island in 3ish playthroughs.

I thing BG3 from Larian looks great. Granted, I haven't played any of BG; I am rather Fallout / Planescape: Torment player. If they add explicit rolls and make the game darker I'm OK with the Larian's take on BG3.

Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. My team has the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit.
I just took a nap and had a horrible nightmare. In this strange dream all my hopes were crushed and turned into false promises and despair. Memories of false images and past tragedies devoured my soul and I was left to cry alone. Echoes of a distant voice haunted my brain: "What does one life matter?". Then I waked up and this was the first thing I saw:

The Diablo 3 style itemization and skill progression, cooldowns and nerf range for ranged weaponry killed the game for me.

DOS2 has almost everything that i hate in modern games(missing only dialog wheels) while PFKM has everything that i love about old school games. I would't have any hate towards dos2 if wasen't by "hur dur modern baldur's gate"...

To exemplify the difference, look to summons on divinity, diablo 3 and in gothic 2 - returning and on pf:km

  • D3 - STart the game with 7 skeletons scaling with the size and sharpness of your axe and end the game with 7 skeletons scaling with the size and sharpness of your axe.
  • DIVINITY - Start the game with a summon that scales mostly with your gear and end the game with a single summon that scales mostly with your gear.
  • Gothic 2 - returning (addon - non vanilla) -> After you become a necromancer(Xardas apprentice), you can learn by paying LP how to create the weakest skeletons, then on circle 2 can learn how to create zombies, slow but more resistant, on circle 3, skeleton warriors, with weapon proficiency allowing then to crit and deal combos, circle 4 requires also demonology and demonic language to allow you to summon demons. You need to feed your spell with demon essensess to progress from lesser demons to archdemons. Circle 5 allows you to cast army of darkness who summons 3 skeleton warriors and a skeleton magician with spear of darkness spell. No hard cap on how much creatures you can summon, but each one has a mana upkeep and if you plan to be a necro, learn the skill who allow you to use your lifeforce to maintain your creations is a must have.
  • PAthfinder Kingmaker. Summon monsetr I summons a weak monster, then you learn how to animate dead who creates 6 skeletons, then soul eaters if you are evil and azatas if good. Soul eater deals WIS damage and are good to lower WIS saves from tough mobs. Summon monster IX can summon Thanadaemons. No hard cap on summons, only limited by how much spell slots you have.
What games offers a greater and better sense of progression?

summons save lives when you are unprepared for an encounter..
enemy drains stats/levels? go go summon.

What do you mean by "explicit rolls?" The game already has a combat log for dice rolls.
