I guess you could say they'll have a few "canon endings" in the form of preset Pillars 1 saves you can load. I'd like a randomiser, myself.
So they managed to dumb down what little resource management the game had even further? Hard to believe since with health regenerating after every encounter and every ability and spell being per-encounter, they already removed every significant incentive a player had to rest. The second thing is because the penalties from an injury, in addition to the max health loss, are usually significant, not trivial, we removed the max health penalty on most injuries—unless that was the main point of the injury.
Regarding choices - I really don't think there's going to be more than token nods at previous choices from P1. I also think they are going to disregard Woedica's ending due to how potentially world-shaking it can be, they haven't ever talked about it and when Josh uploaded the pic about the consequences relating to the gods Skaen wasn't included at all. It has the most potential for drama, however, and if I were in their shoes I'd make it the canon ending.
But I think that devs decided to go with Wael's ending and giant from Kaed Nua is not contain Eothas for real, he contains souls which was transferred after Wael's ending.
Release date delayed to Q1 2019Do it, Obs.
Wait, I don't think I saw this. What pic?Regarding choices - I really don't think there's going to be more than token nods at previous choices from P1. Hmm. There are no consequences for breaking that vow, so maybe that's why he's not there.
Can someone ask Josh about Skaen's ending on Tumblr or wherever he frequents?
What exactly do you want to ask? Give me a fully-phrased question and I'll copy-paste it (500 characters or less)
They'd be able to make as challenging of a game as they want to.
While I was going to go an a tangent how including a lot of difficulty and challenge options is missing the point of gaming entirely, I won't do it
what i learned from mmorpg is: you need to dumb down the difficulty for be accessible to all, and at the same time you need to increase the difficulty in each expansion and patch of the game. They'd be able to make as challenging of a game as they want to.

I'm not going to try to define what a game is to someone else, though. I like to be challenged, usually as much as possible in an RPG, where others may play for relaxation, or social aspects or whatever. While that's not really why I game, they can do what they want, and I understand I'm in a very small minority.
But the overarching point I'm trying to get to is that, if niche RPG fans and fans of challenging games want devs to continue adding challenging aspects to their games (or even attempt to do it), the only way for that to really happen is to have options in the game to please those who don't want as much of a challenge.
They have to sell copies. So either they add options and attempt to give their players more control over the difficulty levels (sliders, more a la carte options, etc.), or the core game itself is just going to be non-challenging or a lot easier by default to turn a profit on the game.
Devs will never be able to please everybody, but giving the player control to tweak their game or easily download someone else's settings is going to get a lot closer to doing that, IMO.
