Well, on second thought, he just has to sneak through the game, without seeing most of the content.

I'm more impressed by the "The Ultimate" achievement. Now that asks for a player who can use the most cheesing tactics and still find fun in playing that way, or a huge masochist.

So here's something funny:

Noobers Revenge: A Level 1 Solo Challenge

Everyone in town used to throw rocks at me and tell me I was annoying. I once knew this guy named Dilby. He threw rocks at me too. Are you gonna throw rocks at me? What about now?

After countless deaths caused by impatient adventures Noobers soul vanished from the realms of Baldurs Gate only to appear in Pillars of Eternity. How this could happen is still a mystery but Noobers current aims are clear and simple: He wants to be an adventurer too - help him to survive!

Noober – as the name already indicates – is a noob in its truest form. This means:
  1. He is stuck at Level 1 forever and will never go up.

  2. All monsters he faces will get furious so PotD only.

  3. Because of his nerve-racking personality he has to play solo.
Gee, you sure are patient.I´ve run out of things to say.

He took a Ranger and is about to finish the game. Apparently hitting enemies isn't actually that big of a problem. Item and equipment Accuracy buffs are good enough.
So the whole rpg ruleset is optional functionality in this rpg.

So BG ruleset is also optional ...

After beating the game once with Cipher, which class would you recommend for a second playthrough men ?

Speaking as someone who found 1.0 extremely lacking (I originally had to quit about halfway through Defiance Bay from sheer boredom), I've been having a great time playing PoE since I started with 3.0. I've been playing on PotD and have found the combat to be much more interesting and difficult all around. I even recently bought and started The White March, which certainly has a lot going for it.

Honestly, I would urge anyone who played and disliked this game when it was first released to give it another try with the improvements of 3.0. For me at least, the game went from a mediocre experience to something I'm now genuinely enjoying. I've yet to feel that sting of boredom that was all too common in the initial release.

That's heartening. I couldn't get past Defiance Bay on 1.0, and PoE made me lose faith in Obsidian in general.

Nothing 3.0 does fixes the specific problems he had with it.

Ouch, the white forge final fight has been lethal to my level 8 party. After two attempts, I'm not sure how I can win this one. Actually, the last fights were already diifficult. What level are you suppose to be to start Durgan's battery quest ?

I had a lvl 11 party and I cheesed that fight. I had my party at the top of the staircase, and used only one character to trigger the fight (equipped with boots of speed). Then I ran back to the rest of the party and baited the guardians to follow me. The three spirits remained near the forge. I retreated the whole party to a nearby room, and fought the guardians in the doorway.

I was level 8 when I did it. It was definitely difficult. I had a similar tactic to the person above (although not as cheesy). I put my team in the upper right corner of the room and had Eder trigger the fight. Had Eder use some potions so he could live while being attacked by like 5 people while the rest of my team just widdled away at the Forge Knights that animate near them. Eventually I brought them down. Although I was playing on Hard not POTD.

Currently at the bog fight and fuck me there is a lot shit going on.

I was a little over leveled I guess (11), but I didn't find the White Forge fight at all difficult. One shotted it on PotD, and actually had substantially more trouble with the fight on the lower left side of the same map (the one where you walk back into the hallway and get ambushed by sirens and wraiths on either side of you). *shrug*

I'm currently looking on youtube for someone who passes the fight on PotD without cheesing. I'm curious to see how it's done. Here is the only one I've found that plays on PotD and he uses a similar tactic.

Oh, there is a guy who passes the fight... lvl 12 or 13 party though (!), and four tanks - a monk PC, Zahua, Eder, Pallegina + Durance and the Devil

These are all the PotD non-solo videos of this battle I could find. If anyone thinks they're very tough, record a video of how you pass this battle on lvl 8-9, I'll be very interested in seeing it.

Mmmh, I think I will resort to cheesing. I usually avoid those kind of tactics as much as possible for roleplay purpose but one more fail attempt and immersion will take a hit anyway.

Encounters in WM are so much better than what I saw in the main campaign until now. I think of one in the main corridor of the mine's level :
a bunch of spectres ambush your party while stuck in a choke point and the first in the line will freeze under siren's immobilisation'spells.
