I have two concurrent playthroughs going right now. One is ordinary PotD, the other is Story Mode solo + Expert Mode (originally I was doing Iron Man as well, but you can still die on Story Mode if you're careless and I got tired of replaying the intro). It's giving me a better appreciation and understanding of how everything works. But this very minute I'm getting pissed off fighting the ogres at the start of WM1. My solo playthrough is a Barbarian and his attack range is less the ogres', so if they get close enough to engage him and he wants to attack, he has to break engagement and trigger AoOs just to move 2 inches closer. It feels unintentional and retarded.

Update v3.7.1.1411
General:
Fixed an issue that prevented POE1 saves from being imported to POE2 after the last patch.
--If you possess a save game that could not be imported, loading and re-saving should correct the issue.
Fixed an issue that caused some users to receive DLC content and/or backer items without having proper access to them.
--If you possess a save game that will not load on 3.7.1.1411 or later, due to it being created with DLC you did not purchase, please send us a support ticket along with your GOG or Steam username and a copy of a save game that has the issue (if multiple saves are affected, you only need to send 1 so we can verify).
--This issue did not affect users on Game Pass or Epic.
Removed duplicate unused asset bundle files that artificially increased installation size.

Navigation:
N/A

Visual and Audio:
Fixed an issue where spoken dialogue was being unintentionally affected by reverberation.

Quests and Dialogue:
N/A

Combat and Mechanics:
N/A

User Interface and Interaction:
Fixed incorrect version numbers across different platforms. They should all match now and increment correctly.

Known Issues:
Some users have reported crashing on 32-bit operating systems. While 32-bit operating systems fall below our minimum requirements, users that had better luck on 3.4.0.1318 will find a Legacy branch available Steam/GOG which may yield better results.

is dex important for dual wield? im trying to lower recovery speed but havent figured out how dex corelates with the number of attacks you can pull off
Dex=more attacks because it decreases the latency with which the action bar becomes empty. As you know, this is good for slow/2H weapons.
Dual-wielding already decreases the recovery lag by a lot. So do the related skills. This means that the benefits of high DEX on a dual wielding character are much smaller, if not completely negligible, than on a 2H build.
Keep in mind that recovery exists for other actions as well though. If you dump DEX on someone who's frontlining and then that character has to drink a potion with an enemy right in front of them... it's gonna get ugly.

i used the above calculator, and the number it gave further confused me. i get 1.53 faster with armored grace/2 weapon style/ padded armor. what 1.53 actually means? more attacks?

1.53 times faster than some baseline, the bigger the number the better (or smaller if going by whatever the f number stands for).

Perception is more important for a dual-wield build.
STR and PER. You want STR to deal as much damage per hit as possible in order to penetrate enemy DR which is a major pain in the ass for any dual-wielder on PotD.

Grab the Codex by the pussy Strap Yourselves In Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
Dual-wielding not being dependent on Dex is dumb, but on the other hand dual-wielding by itself is retarded and unrealistic.

Exactly, you're welcome to grab a polearm or a pike if you're about to fight in a big set piece battle. Besides, having longer blade isn't exactly some kind of auto-win button. In WW1 dudes would routinely shorten the bayonets because standard issue long ones were too clumsy to use in the trenches.

For regular session of backstabbing elves behind an inn adventuring, dual wielding is fine.

Hello. Haven't played POE since it came out and never finished it, but today I was browsing my EPIC library and saw that I have the complete edition of it on it. So my question is, what is the correct order of playing Pillars of Eternity? When should I start playing expansion White March? I read a bit on different forums but nobody seems to agree when to start it, also as I read you can get over leveled if you start it too soon and you have to turn on scaling, which I don't want, because it's just too gimmicky

The offhand weapon is being used to block. He's not trying to attack with both weapons because that would be silly. You're never going to get the accuracy or damage from your offhand weapon to make it worthwhile.

When I got out of the dungeon, I found myself reflecting on the fact I was alone. I had to leave my companions behind - their bodies, that is. We were all dual wielders convinced in their invincibility, but nothing prepared us for... the halberd. The spear. I shook my head. Looking for the smallest bit of relief, I turned my mind's eye on my backpack, now filled with treasure and coin. It wasn't until I made it back to the city that I found out these coins were minted millennia ago, and the treasure was hardly worth anything because the colonies brought cheap silverware. What I almost lost my life for had no value all along. I exchanged the coins at a shady antiquarian shop, 100:1 - not in my favor. The treasure I managed to pawn off only by lowballing myself was paid for in coin that, just a few days ago, when we were locked in a myriad desperate battles, was devalued by the city-state's central bank. On my way to the inn, in a shadowy alley late at night, I saw a man with a look not so kind... and there was a spear in his hand. The world became silent.

Hey, everyone. I'm Josh Sawyer. You might know me for Pentiment, my love for in-season Bohemian apples, and a few other things, like New Vegas and Pillars of Eternity. I spent the last year hanging out with the most wonderful people, sharing cups of grog with them, breaking bread. And I finally realized that Gary Gygax was right: it's all about polearms. And I'd add that it's about making things as menial as possible as well. Before I tell you about Pillars of Eternity 3, let me present the inflation and devaluation formulas we inserted into the code...
