The Arceus pokemon game looks good, if only because it seems to be more of a proper JRPG than pokemon copy-paste.

Nippon Ichi's 2007 tactics thing Soul Nomad & the World Eaters is coming to Steam

WTF...are they really going to just stretch 4:3 screen to 16:9, and call it a day? When I saw screenshots on Steam page I thought maybe it's just how they uploaded them on store page. Is this actual "remaster" work for them?

Plot-twist the remaster is just a repacked pcsx2 emulator with steam icon.

Nothing in the vid convinced me otherwise. We see vehicles from sun/moon make a return, TPS pokemon catching (which is cool but is just of an extension of the gimmick used from Go and Let's Go), the boss battles (also a holdover from Su/Mo but now you dodge attacks, which admitedly is neat).

Rest just looks like normal boring, and ugly looking, pokemon.

Huh, they re-uploaded screenshots on Steam with proper 4:3 ratio 10 hours ago.

I heard all the Story of Seasons games that made it onto Steam have had some form of asset pack encryption/password protection on then that has prevented repacking and essentially modding. I'm expecting this one to be the same as the developers seemingly hate money and longevity for their games.

Why no news thread on China deciding to gut its video game market by limiting people to 3 hours of gameplay time per week?

Not people in general, just children. A bit less money for the f2p/mobile bullshit, who cares.

Why no news thread on China deciding to gut its video game market by limiting people to 3 hours of gameplay time per week?

https://rpgcodex.net/forums/threads/random-non-japanese-asian-rpg-news-thread.119765/

But okay, here, from CNN:

The rules will apply to companies providing online game services to minors, limiting their ability to serve those users outside of designated hours. The companies also will not be allowed to provide services to users who haven’t logged in with real-name registration, preventing them from simply remaining ignorant to their users’ backgrounds.

...

“There are over 110 million minors that play video games in China today, and we expect the new limits to lead to a decline in the number of players and a reduction in the amount of time and money spent in game by those under 18,” Niko Partners senior analyst Daniel Ahmad said.

“However, we do not expect the decline in spend to have a significant material impact on the bottom line of game companies given limits on time and spending have already been in place for minors for the past two years. Therefore, we expect a softer impact on overall growth rates as spending among minors was already low.”

Tencent has previously said only a small amount of gaming revenue comes from younger players in China. In the second quarter, 2.6% of gross game receipts in China were from players under 16 years old.

So it seems single-player games are completely unaffected, and this is just a tightening of existing laws aimed at F2P\gacha\PvP type games.

Great news, especially ZHP because I could definitely use more of a Power Rangers fix after Chroma Squad, but what's the holdup with Disgaea 3?
