Composer Shoji Meguro leaves Atlus, developing indie game to be announced on November 6
Meguro to continue working on Atlus titles.
Shoji Meguro has left the Atlus sound team to work as a freelance composer, the company announced.
Atlus will continue to develop new titles with Meguro working as a freelance composer, as well as support his endeavor to expand his efforts in the future.
Shoji Meguro joined Atlus in 1995 and has composed countless soundtracks for Atlus titles since, including the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series. Find his full portfolio here.
Kodansha Game Creators’ Lab, an independent game developer support organization, also announced it will support Meguro on the development of a new indie game to be announced on November 6 at INDIE Live Expo 2021 Winter. According to Meguro’s Twitter profile, it is a near-future science-fiction stealth action / role-playing game with gun-based combat.
Meguro, under the pseudonym “Megarock,” had been making games using Unreal Engine 4 on his own for the past five years, and applied for the “Game Creators’ Lab Round 1 Recruitment” last September, and made it to the final interview. And although not selected as a Game Creators’ Lab Round 1 member, Kodansha supported Meguro with 500,000 yen in funding as a special prize. After subsequent communication, the organization decided to assign him a separate position from the Game Creators’ Lab Round 1 members.
Here are a few screenshots of the title:
And here is a message from Meguro:
Hello. I’m Shoji Meguro.
I know this is quite sudden, but I, Shoji Meguro, resigned from Atlus Co., Ltd. at the end of September 2021.
I’ve been creating role-playing games by myself during my spare time for the past five years now, and I applied for a Round 1 Kodansha Game Creators Lab recruitment and was selected as one of the finalists. Then staff from Kodansha was assigned to work with me.
I decided to leave Atlus and focus on my dream of developing indie games.
However, I will continue to maintain a good relationship with Atlus. While focusing on my own indie game development, I will continue to work with Atlus on game music, so I hope that those of you who were concerned about the sudden announcement will feel relieved.
Lastly, I would like to thank Atlus Co., Ltd. and my family for accompanying me. I would also like to thank Kodansha for giving me a chance to take on the challenge.
I hope you will enjoy the music of Shoji Meguro as well as the games I am currently working on.

I don't think anyone else posted this trailer here yet. It's been a year and still nothing, so don't get your hopes up. At least it looks nice.

Oh wow, I didn't realize this was still a thing. I remember back when it was called Mother 4 the arguments on Reddit about whether the definite release date of "Winter 2014" meant the beginning or end of 2014. So yeah, not holding my breath.
Downloading now, although the commenters on Youtube seem to not be having an easy time running it.Apparently, there was a leak, and some butthurt from the devs:

Subject: Correction
I already played through this and and was looking through the content inside the folders. It doesn't look like a 2015 or 2016 build. I don't know where you get the idea to even say that in the first place lmao.
Due to lots of missing content and very unplayable condition of the demos, this could be a very old version! possibly before the first trailer! I am guessing those demos could be from early 2014 or late 2013.
By the way, lots of people are freaking out why the project management shows very little progress. Well, I am going to say the best answer here to that question, its because this is a OUTDATED VERSION OF THE PROJECT! If you look at the videos you can see they already done so much progress! in fact I am sure most of the problems with the demos provided here must already been fixed by now. The only problem is we are not getting the newer builds because jack ass Pastel currently have the late 2014 to 2019 builds and he won't let anyone else than himself to work the whole damn thing and thats why this game taking FOREVER TO COME! Screw Pastel big time. Wish Azure never passed this project to those cheapskate bastards.
