3DS is dead. I did unlock it but never played anything but Yokai Watch. I have it for 4 years, played only 4 games: Kingdom Hearts, Fire Emblem, Shin Megami Tensei 4(these 3 I bought) and Yokai Watch(pirated). Only finished KH. All the other 3 I dropped near the ending.
 Not any more dead than any other console on the market at the moment. Didn't even play the better games on the thing (EO, the other 2 SMT games, etc). No idea what made you pirate* Yokai Watch.

Looks like a cute little fun dungeon romper. Or should I call it Chibi Souls? (According to the director, this has been his personal dream project for last 20 years, and the production history goes back to PS2 era.)
It really does look like a PS2 game. Adds to the charm, honestly. Chibi Souls is apt, there are a few gameplay staples from the series but I think the added platforming and Zelda-like puzzles will make it stand out on its own. Maybe.

It was supposed to have a "my" before the 3DS but I forgot it.
Because I have already played the SMT before(it's 3 no? 2 devil survivor and soul hacker) and no reason for EO. As for the Yokai Watch, my little brother wanted to play it. I did like it, though. Found it funny how your character would leave his shoes every time you were inside a house. I enjoy these little details in games. I just got bored, may play it again when I got time, hardly can play pc games anyway. :negative:

Ha, that really changes the tone of your post!

Uh, yeah, at the moment there's IV, Soul Hackers, and the two Devil Survivor Remake/Remaster whatevers. There's also Persona Q technically, but I get that not everyone is into crawlers, as well as IV-2 (Apocalypse) being released in October. Yeah, if you can revive the thing or something I'd suggest taking a crack at it. The typical Nintendo lineup isn't bad (especially when you aren't paying $30 for each one used), the doujin stuff is pretty cool, and there's a couple of other RPGs-not-made-by-Atlus™ on it that are decent.

Deep Silver to publish Atlus games in EU:
So far sounds good. Hopefully that would mean faster releases if not at same time as USA (since for example KOF14 is out at same time in both USA and EU) and more importantly that it wont end in same manner as deal with NISA.

Now Idea Factory/Compile Heart taking a step further toward the Steamy Gaben kingdom.

"Idea Factory: We can't disclose specific sales figures, but Steam versions of Neptunia games are selling very-very-very well across the world!! Thanks to that, we decided to make Japanese versions (tears)."

(All Neptunia games were region locked in Japan.)

Good for them.

It's kinda strange to see a dev that is not indie saying that their games is selling 'very-very-very-very well' and you see that the sales figure is not that big than what you are used to see in non-indie devs. Still, good for them, more games on steam.

Why are Japanese indie games so superior to pig disgusting Western ones. :negative:
Japanese indie scene hasn't been infected by the hipster scene like the West (now if only I can find that article someone posted a while ago...)

Edit: Holy shit, I'm now a Cipher whether that means. Do I now get psionic powers?

Ghostlight will announce a new Steam JRPG soon: http://blog.ghostlight.uk.com/post/a-new-ghostlight-steam-beta-begins

It’s been a busy time here in the Ghostlight office, as we’ve begun a closed beta for our upcoming Steam JRPG. Currently this closed beta is invite only, but depending how it goes we’re planning on opening it up for applications in the near future.

So far the beta seems to be going fairly smoothly, and the team at Laughing Jackal is hard at work fixing the bugs that have been discovered.

We’re expecting to be able to announce details of the game very soon, so please keep your eyes on the blog and on our social media pages as well. :)

Oh sure, no problem:
  • Sakura Dungeon (lel)
  • 7th Dragon III
  • Stranger of Sword City
  • Class of Heroes 3 (announced for a while, put on hold)
As far as I know, that's pretty much it. Not counting Mystery Dungeon-likes.

thanks!

that mystery RPG from ghostlight intrigues me. I only know them from Elminage but if they have the good sense to publish Elminage titles then there is hope.

lol do I recommend it? of course I do.

both of the english-language Elminage games not only happen to coincidentally be the two best entries in the actual series itself, but not only that I consider both of the Elminage games (Original on PSP and Gothic on Windows PC) to be the true continuation of turn-based, tile-based dungeon-crawling party-building game mechanics first engineered by the Wizardry series.

it is also no coincidence either that this is so because Starfish studios, the Elminage developers, are also responsible for developing the Sir-Tech commissioned Wizardry Empire 1, 2 and 3 games for PS1/PSP/Windows PC (of which only title number 2 is currently available in English for Windows PC) way back in 1998; so it is no surprise that out of all japanese Wiz-clone DRPG developers, it is Starfish studios that makes the very best ones with their Wizardry Empire games and currently with their Elminage games.

so not only do I wholeheartedly recommend that you play both Elminage: Original on PSP, either emulated or on real hardware, but I also recommend playing the Steam-version of the Windows PC port of Elminage: Gothic which is more "hard-core" and more difficult than Elminage: Original. once you play either of the two Elminage games either you will absolutely love them to shreds or you will not like them; as with all truly genius RPGs/video games there is simply no middle-ground.

and if you do like the Elminage games then get ready to become a life-long fan of Wizardry series proper, as games like Wizardry 5 (PS1/Windows PC/SNES) and Wizardry 6 (SNES/Windows PC) are the games where you can see the genesis of the current iteration of the turn-based, tile-based DRPG such as the Etrian Odyssey titles.

I much prefer the Elminage games to the EO titles although I enjoy both; but the Elminage games feature much better party-building, spell-systems, loot itemization, character development and much better class-systems and also a much better weapon "enchantment" system. To be fair though, all of that praise I just gave to Elminage truly belongs to the makers of Wizardry 1-6 as Starfish studios, fantastic and talented and magical as they are at making DRPGs, are only following in their footsteps.

If there were, I haven't heard about it.

EDIT: Of course I'm only thinking about SRPGs in the way of Disgaea or FFT.
