It is a VR tile... with blocky anime graphics? Yeah, that game is dead, doubt it will even get 50% off KS

I believe this new Carpe Fulgur title also supports standard wranglings instead of just VR---I want to say they clarified on twitter a bit later after realizing the crossed wires of communication...

aweigh the article is more about creating iconic characters with mass market appeal, rather than immersive world building. The article is probably more relevant for marketers than us.

So i have a question for disgea veterans.
Does each game iterate on the previous one in terms of mechanics or are there some unique elements found in specif titles?
Wondering about starting to play disgaea games but having no idea whatever to play the first or wait for the fifth one to come to pc?

The gameplay got better with each iteration, but storywise Disgaea 1 is the best one, if you care about that stuff.

Disgaea 5 Complete is rated for PC as well as Nintendo Switch: http://www.esrb.org/ratings/Synopsis.aspx?Certificate=34841&Title=Disgaea+5+Complete

Not necessarily means they're skipping 3, 4, and D2.

http://www.usgamer.net/articles/disgaea-5-complete-rated-on-pc-by-esrb

NIS America has offered up a statement about the rating.

"We submitted the ESRB rating for a PC version for the possibility of releasing Disgaea 5 on PC at a later date. Currently, there is no timeline as to which Disgaea title will be headed to PC," said an NIS America spokesperson.

Nintendo is doing another turn-based Mario RPG, this time in cooperation with Ubisoft (do they get bonus points for trying to support the U?).

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/44682/new-details-about-mario--rabbids-kingdom-battle-confirmed-for-switch said:
The game is presented as an RPG that mixes exploration and turn-based combat. The exploration is estimated at 35% of the game with combat making up 65%. Each of the four worlds are "twisted" Mario worlds filled with references.

They are partnering with a western studio so of-fucking-course they have to use guns. And look angry on the box.

Inb4 they get sued because Mario looks like Megaman on the artwork.

Their nod to Sarkesian (a distressed Princess - so cliché) is retarded - Peach has long been in the midst of the heat and could carry her own weight. It's not like it's new that she's a playable character.

But i hate those rabbids. Fuck, of all things in rayman franchise (rayman x mario games would be amazing) they habe to pick the rabbids

'Refreshing experience' is a blatant lie. All of those have been done before. (Cannons and bullets, Peach spin-off[s?] and jabs at the franchise in many games of the series both subtle and not so subtle)

I hope this isn't good enough to be a system seller for me.

Are these raving rabbits popular? I find them an odd mix with Mario.

yeah, the rabbids are like the minion to despicable me
They are good as side stuff, but idiots like them ans actually made them more popular than the main stuff and it spawned a bunch of abominations that onlu belongs in the deepest fiery cracks of hell

Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2 introduces sub-class feature
The latest issue of Weekly Jump reveals a new sub-class feature for Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2.

The adventurers you make through character creation can learn unique skills in each class. In Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2, a sub-class can be used concurrently with your main class. You can develop a character that specializes in attacks and support, or one that compensates for its weak points.

Two examples are shown in the magazine:

Landsknecht main class, which specializes in close-range attacks, with a Runemaster sub-class, which specializes in long-range attacks through elemental magic. This turns the character into a powerful attacker regardles of distance.
Hexer main class, which specializes at exploiting the enemy’s weakness, with a Paladin sub-class, who boasts of high defense. This also enables the character to equip a shield to cover its low defense.
Outside of the sub-class information, the magazine also features a new character named Nadica. She is a mysterious girl who calls herself a reporter and is fixated on getting to Yggdrasil.

Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2 is due out for 3DS in Japan on August 31. If you missed it, catch the latest trailer here.

Casino and horse racing are in Dragon Quest XI.

Famitsu has gone live with its first online preview of The Lost Child, Kadokawa Games’ newly announced PlayStation 4 and PS Vita title from El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron director and character designer Takeyasu Sawaki.

The world of The Lost Child is based on the world of “mythical concept” created by Sawaki, and the story is connected to El Shaddai.

The game is set in Japan, where mainly in Tokyo, there are spaces called “layers” between the Astral World and major cities like Shinjuku and Akihabara. Layers are filled with dangerous creatures called Astrals. Using the power of the demon gun “Gangour,” the protagonist and company will explore these layers.
The Lost Child is due out for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita this summer in Japan.

I hope that's not the actual OP and just some marketing stuff with the main theme attached.
If it is, I just hope the version they release with the game doesn't have any of that text on it - it just detracts from what would otherwise be an amazing opening movie.

4-man party instead of 3 is pretty major incline. Throw in some more side content, and maybe an additional difficulty and the game should be a pretty significant improvement over Setsuna.

RUMOR: From Software working on 'Phantom Wail', new PS4-exclusive IP with focus on martial arts

Some brief information, since it's just a "rumor" from a supposed notorious and accurate "leaker".

--Ancient Aztec/Mayan/tribal aesthetic.

--Emphasis on hand-to-hand combat techniques and "martial art styles" (hand-to-hand fighting styles, I should clarify, as to not confuse people thinking the game with be an Aztec/Mayan aesthetic with straight up Kung Fu and Tae Kwon Do lol).

--Traditional melee weapons still in (i.e. clubs), but they won't have a major focus; weapon-based movesets are gone.

--Instead, players will customize and personalize their hand-to-hand movesets and fighting styles, there is customization for weapon fighting styles as well, however. (This kinda-sorta sounds like Nioh to me, with the weapon skill trees and such, just my personal opinion).

--Is the "Souls-like, dark fantasy, familiar" game Miyazaki mentioned when interviewed about the future of From Software. Armored Core and a "strange for From Software" game were the other 2 mentioned.

--Collaboration between Sony Japan and From Software (it's the Sony exclusive title).

Sauce: Reddit

I can't take this shit any longer. Really contemplating getting a PS4 if this turns out to be true.
