I have been looking for this game for years...

I played it as a kid, but I couldn't remember its name. I asked everywhere and everyone, I posted on so many Facebook groups asking for help...

I've honestly been looking for this for at least ten years. You saved my life, I will never forget you.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I emailed the dev of Terra Aegrus for a full version unlock key and asked him whether development on the sequel is still going on.

I also emailed the guy from Dragoon Entertainment whose games are all currently unavailable, but he still seems active on twitter and working on a new game. Asked him whether he's willing to sell his old games. They look like shit, but hey.

I know I'm showing my age, but as a kid I used to play British Legends and Isles of Kesmai on Compuserve.

http://www.british-legends.com/CMS/

https://mud.fandom.com/wiki/Island_of_Kesmai

Here's a list of CompuServe games from 1984 (before British Legends and Island of Kesmai), and I'm surprised that Telengard is on the list:

https://ia801300.us.archive.org/35/items/CompuServeGames1984_201512/CompuServe_Games_1984.pdf

I was playing CompuServe games in 1988, I think, so I know there must have been many more games than in that brochure by then, but some have probably been lost forever.

i can't remember if i cited this site for the life of me; but legends world is pretty much the ultimate archive. on adventure legends, you can find all sorts of crpgs that have been forgotten by time - you just have to click a year and go to the crpg subsection of the archive

http://www.legendsworld.net/adventure/news

the most significant find i found was a game that got a complete fan translation done by someone here:

https://www.oldgames.sk/game/brany-skeldalu/pictures/

https://rpgcodex.net/forums/index.php?threads/new-english-translation-of-gates-of-skeldal-brány-skeldalu-available.122858/

I have both good and bad news about Terra Aegrus! As I mentioned a few posts above, I asked the developer for a full version registration key. Here's his email answer:

Hi Frank!

Here is a license code for Terra Aegrus 1:
5272F431393A30B266A12DC9C7A1F0A2140A7001B9EBA2932E7F3DE26049B657

Unfortunately, I do not have any more time to finish up Terra Aegrus 2.
It was very unfortunate too, since it was like 85% done :( :(

Zander

So, sadly the sequel won't get finished. But when I asked for permission to publicly share the code, he said:
Absolutely!
Please share that code :)
It's completely free :)

Zander

So here you go!

What if I told you, there is a Fallout tribute game you do not know about?

What if I told you it's a mix of RPG and adventure game, in a Quest for Glory style?

What if I told you it was made in 2006, by Czechs and Slovaks of all the people?

What if I told you it was created for a indie developpers contest sponsored by a vodka producing company?

If it all sounds too weird for you, check out Moribund World. No, not the Fallout 4 visual mod. The real Moribund World, made by indie company Data Web for Becherovka Games contest in 2006.

And before you ask, yes, it has an English version. It actually works.

Here are some screenshots I managed to dig from the web:

To tell you the truth, from my first 10 minutes of playing the game, it seems more of an advanture than a rpg. However, you have stats and stat-based minigames, so there is that. Don't know about combat, didn't see it yet.

Here is some more info about the game: http://sabretoothfish.blogspot.com/2007/01/moribund-world-like-thousand-suns.html

And finally, the download! Full game takes less than 10 MBs: http://www.freegamearchive.com/download-games/freeware/adventures/moribund-world/14888

Have fun!

Oh MAN. I remember seeing this on the front page of NMA when it first came out. Now I gotta replay it.

Something tells me it's about 30 minutes long.

I played about 10 minutes so far and I did not feel like completing 33% of the game. The map provided to the PC shows several locations scattered around the wasteland.

It is still possible you're right, but the game at least gives an impression of being more vast.

I'm just thinking logically. Adventure-style backgrounds take a lot of space, you can't shove that many of them into 10 mb, even if you have no sound. And then being made for a contest means a very short developments cycle. So maybe not 30 minutes, maybe 60 or even 90 - but it can't be a long game either way.
EDIT: poked around the game files. 12 locations, 8 NPCs.

I doubt it. 15 bucks is way too expensive. I purchased part 2 some years ago and found it entertaining, like a simplified Ultima. But the price is too high. Should be between 5 and 10 dollar in my opinion.

Could you upload it elsewhere? Avast blocks me from accessing the site because it apparently is a phishing site. I double-checked and both Kaspersky and Sophos say the same. I'd rather download it from elsewhere then.

Yeah, same problem here. Here is another link:

Malwarebytes also complained about the site. However my McAfee had no problems with it. I scouted a little and downloaded lots of free RPGs. Will propably post more on them soon.

I see the alternative link was already provided. Thanks Ludwig von Eisenthal !

Strange... freegamearchive.com is the english version of freegame.cz. There is no phising warning on the original website, but if I change language to english I can't access many of the games because Avast blocks them.
