If you use kickstarter you kind of deserve it.
It's a service that exists explicitly for businesses to raise money without having to present a prospectus. And in return you get funkypops or a gold-plated name with a wall of text attached... assuming you were lucky enough to spin the roulette and land on a project that actually finished.

Damn. I backed this cause I held out some hope it might work out. The combat beta was the red flag for me since it had so many things unimplemented. Shame cause what was functional was interesting.

Kickstarter pretty much is investing in a business for the masses, so it is not a surprise most fail. I mean look at Wizards of the Coast. They are a big professional corporation and they ended up investing a ton of money in that dumpster fire that was that Quebec Dungeons and Dragons Dark Alliance. And that had the added safety of appealing to the lowest common denominator, Marvel fans.
