Seems like they kept almost everything from the original, including the island section.
Good. These games aren't very long to begin with. They don't need to be cutting anything. What they did to RE3 was a travesty.
RE3 remake was good as an action game. In this day I don't know how you can expect better. Look at Dead Space remake by comparison. Pozzed wokeified piece of shit. Pull your head out of your ass.

It was actually better than RE2 remake from a gameplay standpoint. It had the dodge AND they got rid of the damage rng bullshit.

RE4 was long for an action game. First time I played it almost 20 years ago ( :negative: ) it probably took me 15-20 hours to beat. RE3 Remake took an already short game and cut down to the bone.

Vanquish was 4 hours long. The brilliant gameplay made it timeless. Make a shooter that plays better than whatever else is on the market. When I play shooters I don't think about quantity.

4 got long in the tooth, as most action games over 10 hours do for me. It's why I never replayed it despite thinking it was good overall.

Vanquish was the perfect length for me, although it took me more than 4 hours. Plan to replay it sometime soon.

>Reviews shit on the original and rave on how the remake improved it.

I don't expect honesty from Capcom's paid shills but shit like how "they improved the voice acting" or how things like "upgrading weapons" is a new feature when the original had them as well shows how these people and the new audience for the remake have never even played the original.

10/10 and a must play on metacritic. Crapcom really hit the ball out of the park with this one. /s

It's an over rated, palatable shit action game just like the original game was.

The best thing about this remake is it's going to tear off those rose tinted glasses for many when they finally realize how over rated RE4 actually was.

Seethe and cope RE4 fanboys.

10/10 all across the board seems a bit much but I played the demo last night and was okay with it. It tones down the campy trying to make it more "Resident Evil" but still kind of maintains the gameplay aspects of what made RE4 fun. My favorite part of playing RE4 was shooting a knee cap and then kicking a zombie in the face when he drops to his knees while being surrounded by zombies then panicing on where or what to do. I don't really need much more than that. I don't give a shit about the stupid RE story lol.

Remakes of almost 20 year old games have a high bar to pass.

Most people who played the game and liked it, even here, were probably pretty young when the original came out.

Now the remake has to please people who are mostly adults, with jobs and kids and all that other boring stuff.

I'm not expecting to relieve my teenagehood, but if I'm not bored or cringing out of my skin, I'll count it as a win.

Well, I played RE4 for the first time just a couple of years ago and I feel no desire to play this remake. I feel like remakes like these are for chronic consumers who can't bring themselves to play anything that isn't brand new and on the shelves.
