Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Of course not, I replay Baldur's Gate 2 every single time the same way

Well apparently you did, and fucked the dude everytime, because you didn't realize it applied to all romances rather than being a personal quest for him specifically. Stop trying to hide your love of man meat.

Compare it to PST or even MotB.

I dont wanna!!!

Because then it'd be to obvious what the writing in the game could have been if they had let MCA be lead on it. As much as enjoyed the game, I think MCA could have done so much more out of the souls-schtick.

Why do people keep talking about "letting" MCA be anything? MCA is one of the founders. Nobody "lets" him do something, he couldn't be arsed to help out more in a game made by his own company, preferring apparently to put more effort into other companies' games. Even if I didn't think he was a burned out, overrated mediocrity, it's obvious the man has no interest in leading another Torment or doing anything worthwhile at all really.

Yes, well, this is also the world where instead of flying cars and colonizing space we have Beyonce and iPhone 6. Good morning and welcome to reality.

Wow that is super naive...no wonder your avatar is Aerie
:whatho:

Because he is one of the bosses doesn´t mean he can do whatever he wants!
You do know human relationship in any area can be very complicated?

You have to be pretty autistic if you're one of the Big Bosses but somehow managed to get relegated to scrubbing toilets every time. Most likely he just doesn't give a fuck.

Yeah, that's why he's so eager to help inXile and various indies - because he doesn't give a fuck anymore. He is one of the founder, he's not a 'big boss' but a man responsible for 200 people who want to keep their jobs and the only way to do that is to keep the publishers' happy and work on their games, not do whatever the fuck you feel like.

....? What are you saying? I'm just saying, Dexers might find the game too easy, but other people are finding the game "impossible". My room mate took 9 straight hours of retries before he beat Radric. I didnt even know what to say when he told me that.
I'm saying that mediocrity is one hell of a swamp.

Your statements contradict themselves. If he's responsible for 200 people who want to keep their jobs why is he spending time helping other people instead of his own company? He's a writer. The best way to help would be for him to take a leading role in writing for their flagship product, not navel graze at inXile.

I assume that helping other projects doesn't take much time and is nothing but a hobby. And no, the best way for him would be taking a leading role not in some 4 mil game (small potatoes) but in 15-25 mil game (i.e. the game that pays the bills).

I dunno, with a 15-level megadungeon it seems to me that one could be pleasantly surprised by the fact that it's not straight-up Diablo

Wow. I just wish my expectations for this game had been as low as yours. Diablo. Yikes. As others have pointed out we could also be disappointed it wasn't another Watcher's Keep.

Something I forgot to mention.

In this way, PoE’s disregard for hard counters is quite like if I criticized bread for being a poor soup container

Grunker, my nigga, you crazy. Visit potato sometime and I'll treat you to some heavenly żurek served in a perfectly adequate bread bowl.

Or is this some next level meta commentary that I'm not getting?

They're just trying to hide from the cruel reality, friend.

Yeah tank MMOs and board games could use better writing.

I don't think it's as simple as 'assign our most talented writer to the game in development with the biggest budget'.'Technically, it's been over a decade since Avellone was the creative lead on an AAA game from start to finish.

Sure, a South Park RPG was pretty much the dream Avellone project we were all waiting for.

Or you could finally accept he was a one hit wonder.
