Ah, my mistake then.
Game's not coming out.I completely understand the sentiment CIG is trying to convey. Releasing quarterly patches to a game highly in development is a distraction by definition. Crowdfunding for Star Citizen and games in general is a catch-22 where people want open, transparent development and the ability to play pre-alpha builds but that means having to basically run a game while it's being made. Meanwhile a vocal minority is shitting and pissing themselves every month and a half because deliverables are moved around. Who cares if salvage is constantly being delayed? It'll come eventually, just like the medical system and the medical system ended up being fucking awesome. Haven't these whiny cunts heard the saying "patience is a virtue"?
The rest of the game is still being developed and we're still getting other deliverables in the meantime. Either way, the game is making visible, steady progress and the crowdfunding reflects that.
Seethe & cope harder nerds, this isn't 'crashing and burning' any time soon
Cloud Imperium Games is going to stop putting tentative dates on upcoming new features because too many followers see them as definite commitments.
If you honestly believe that experienced developers wouldnt say if something cant be done then you are very naive
is deadfire the only one there that wasn't a scam or complete failure?Would be interesting to compare all time SC funding vs. all of kickstarter tabletop game 's, is latter known? I already kinda bet latter is more though.
I tried to sort by Amount raised, but you get the idea. Nothing else even comes close.

wow
Noticed that wiki article is missing some of the projects I backed that released like Mordhau. Don't think people realize how much notable shit has come out of crowdfunding platforms like Fig, Indiegogo and Kickstarter. Listing the ones that stuck out to me.is deadfire the only one there that wasn't a scam or complete failure?Would be interesting to compare all time SC funding vs. all of kickstarter tabletop game 's, is latter known? under a publisher being developed by a preexisting developer we wouldn't even fucking know Star Citizen existed until like 2017-2019 so it's pretty ridiculous to sit there and act as if server meshing and iCache has taken "forever".
At this point Scam citizen has become even worse than most Gacha shit on the appstore. Sure they might be selling compressed jpgs to coomers but at least they are selling something. SC has been selling the promise of integrating a jpg into a game that by their own admission does not even exist yet. Its double layered scam that most cult leaders would give an arm and a leg to have going for them.they are farming the mentally ill.
So shall we start taking bets, who will buy them out, will it be Microsoft or Sony... or dear Lord Tencent!!!
At this rate Star Citizen did not really start developement until 2025 they were just scaling up production to get it going proper. That guy's channel is a joke. Seen his videos ranting about tactical shooters before and he's a dime-a-dozen outrage merchant YouTube persona.
"We've been hearing about server meshing since 2016"
2016. One year after the first studio was staffed up and the game's budget was transitioning from tens of millions of dollars to hundreds of millions of dollars due to it being crowdfunded. Seems like a lifetime ago when you're spending it in front of a computer 16 hours a day not touching grass but in context, under a publisher being developed by a preexisting developer we wouldn't even fucking know Star Citizen existed until like 2017-2019 so it's pretty ridiculous to sit there and act as if server meshing and iCache has taken "forever".

People make fun of scam citizen but right now it might as well be the only mmorpg out there. Mmos are dead genre. Its either very simplistic games for casuals by big box developers in the states. Hardcore but ultimately basic simplistic games with zero content by cash grab scandanvian or korean game developers.
