I completely understand the sentiment CIG is trying to convey. Releasing quarterly patches to a game highly in development is a distraction by definition. Crowdfunding for Star Citizen and games in general is a catch-22 where people want open, transparent development and the ability to play pre-alpha builds but that means having to basically run a game while it's being made. Meanwhile a vocal minority is shitting and pissing themselves every month and a half because deliverables are moved around. Who cares if salvage is constantly being delayed? It'll come eventually, just like the medical system and the medical system ended up being fucking awesome. Haven't these whiny cunts heard the saying "patience is a virtue"?

The rest of the game is still being developed and we're still getting other deliverables in the meantime. Either way, the game is making visible, steady progress and the crowdfunding reflects that.

I am sure this little brouhaha will end soon, as the cult fanbase see the error in their ways, and in penance buy lots of additional JPGs. It is not their place to question how and when the Saint Roberts, peace be upon him, delivers the holy BDSSE.

Well, Ill say this much, I have gotten full value for the 40 Eur I spent for the entertainment and drama it provides. So far no regrets probably could have spent the same amount on one-night pub crawl in old town.
I suddenly have deep carving for coffee be right back....

Would be interesting to compare all time SC funding vs. all of kickstarter tabletop game 's, is latter known? I already kinda bet latter is more though.

I tried to sort by Amount raised, but you get the idea. Nothing else even comes close.

Noticed that wiki article is missing some of the projects I backed that released like Mordhau. Don't think people realize how much notable shit has come out of crowdfunding platforms like Fig, Indiegogo and Kickstarter. Listing the ones that stuck out to me.

That guy's channel is a joke. Seen his videos ranting about tactical shooters before and he's a dime-a-dozen outrage merchant YouTube persona.
"We've been hearing about server meshing since 2016"
2016. One year after the first studio was staffed up and the game's budget was transitioning from tens of millions of dollars to hundreds of millions of dollars due to it being crowdfunded. Seems like a lifetime ago when you're spending it in front of a computer 16 hours a day not touching grass but in context, under a publisher being developed by a preexisting developer we wouldn't even fucking know Star Citizen existed until like 2017-2019 so it's pretty ridiculous to sit there and act as if server meshing and iCache has taken "forever".

Shut ya trap you triggered fuck, just go choke on that kool aid already. Under a publisher being developed by a preexisting developer you wouldn't be paying thousands of dollars for content that doesn't even exist yet, hyped upon lies and broken promises, because the funding would be coming from the company itself or it's investors, therefore it would be none of your fucking business.

Dear lord, year after year shilling for these fuckers and you still struggle to even comprehend why they keep getting shat on, no wonder why they keep filling their pockets even after all this time... they are farming the mentally ill.

At this point Scam citizen has become even worse than most Gacha shit on the appstore. Sure they might be selling compressed jpgs to coomers but at least they are selling something. SC has been selling the promise of integrating a jpg into a game that by their own admission does not even exist yet. Its double layered scam that most cult leaders would give an arm and a leg to have going for them.

So shall we start taking bets, who will buy them out, will it be Microsoft or Sony... or dear Lord Tencent!!!

Not Microsoft because Star Citizen would compete with Starfield.

Star Citizen will the Starfield killer! :)

At this point CIG should make a deal with Meta and create that everexpanding Second Life v2 in space. They hit all the BS boxes, just like Meta, it will be a glorious fusion of software you don't need and a game that doesn't exist.

At this rate Star Citizen did not really start developement until 2025 they were just scaling up production to get it going proper.

The year is 2168 - The development only really started in 2122, when players started getting access to quantum computing, allowing CiG to get the first version of Jesus Tech out, making it possible to host 60 players in the same zone. Finally, players were able to have two fully manned Idris fighting each other at a 15FPS for five minutes before the servers imploding. To celebrate 50% development completion, Brain in a Jar Chris bought himself a new flying yacht after reaching the 7 billion milestone in crowdfunded cash, selling JPGs, NFTs, ScamCoins, Bath Water; Bottled Whale Semen and other exotic products.

It's rumored that Alexander DeLarge himself bought the entire stock of Whale Semen and no one really knows why.

Squadron 42 first chapter delayed another year, but Salvage is still intended to be release later this year.

People make fun of scam citizen but right now it might as well be the only mmorpg out there. Mmos are dead genre. Its either very simplistic games for casuals by big box developers in the states. Hardcore but ultimately basic simplistic games with zero content by cash grab scandanvian or korean game developers.

Check out Mortal Online 2. I keep shilling it here but no one is biting for some reason. It's the best MMO on the market imo.
