Blaine One more question: How will "Privateer-like" SP mode look like? I mean, we will have Squadron 42 as mission-based action game (correct?), Privateer-like mode, possibly after Sq42 storyline with trading etc. (not sure about that one?) and MMO component (Star Citizen).

Shit, I am on the verge of pledging for Rear Admiral tier, with all the physical goodies and Constellation on top. I just am not sure that such an investment (in addition to i315, which I've already pledged for) will be justified. I mean, I've never played any MMO's (living-players stress syndrome?) . But those footages of different ships and all the "space-sim vibe" is growing on me.

Plainly said: it fucking looks gorgeous!!!Cannot imagine all of this in real time.

AFAIK, S42 is pretty much Wing Commander. Mostly military missions, but Chris stated that there will be some missions more similar to general gameplay of Star Citizen - so trading, exploration or something like that.

Also, I just got a Constellation, which concludes my spending spree on this game. Will probably upgrade it to something shiny if there is a an offer similar to 300i.

Did you get it before the LTI cutoff? If not, you can gift it to me, I can melt it down for shop credit, use the shop credit to buy you an otherwise identical package but at the original backer prices and with LTI, then use any leftover funds (it should be less expensive for me) to buy you a few $5 skins. I'll then gift it all back to you.

Obviously that requires some level of faith on your part, but I'm not hurting for money and I don't steal, so if you'd like to do that then I'd be willing.

Over there.
You know, it's funny... in quest-based MMOs, I despise open PVP for reasons those people in the quoted sections above state, but it's because there's a shit-ton of other non PVP things to do in those types of games that I tend to enjoy. On the other hand, it seems to me that this game is all about da PVP a la EVE and if you want to do "quests" or whatever, you've got S42.

So yeah, if wanting to PVP as a dirty bastard makes me a griefer, I'll be sure to bring a box of Kleenex to toss out the airlock for these space hippies.

Blaine, I'm an original backer so I can buy stuff with LTI and at original campaign prices up till November this year. Thanks for the offer though!

And now I feel cheap... Speaking of cheap, are you going to dump next issue of Jumppoint, Blaine?

Edit:
$250 for the Constellation? I got it as addon ship for $225. I also forgot that I have pirate pack too :P

Already did, but it was covered in walls of pay-to-win complaints almost immediately. It'd be great if we could have an up-to-date editable OP in this thread, but on the Codex we can't have nice things. I should put a link to some guides/FAQs (and the Jump Points) in my signature.

Linky in sig sounds great. I've already read the seven you uploaded. They are pretty good, but, for some reason, I just don't want to spend money on it now. Same happened with EON of EVE online. Did get almost all the issues though, from a coworker who abandoned EVE and answered yes to "can I have your stuff?". If they gave some meaningless stuff in-game like a bobblehead, or a poster, for the subscription I might be tempted more.

They do, you get a decal for your ship. Here's the entire speel.

Centurion Subscribers will receive access to:
  • The ability to participate In live monthly team “show and tell” sessions with the LA office (pending launch.)
  • Jump Point, the monthly digital magazine of Star Citizen. A lengthy monthly newsletter including updates from the team, new in-universe fiction and behind-the-screens information about the game.
  • Access to “The Vault,” a collection of Star Citizen artwork that would otherwise never be seen, including ‘paths not taken’ discarded concept art for the true collector.
  • An exclusive catalog of Star Citizen subscriber merchandise, available when we launch our goods store.
  • Your name in the game! We can’t tell you where you’ll find it, but if you subscribe for at least twelve months your name will be located somewhere in the Star Citizen world.
  • Centurion decal for your ship.
Imperator Subscribers will receive access to:
  • The ability to participate In live monthly team “show and tell” sessions with the LA office (pending launch.)
  • Jump Point, the monthly digital magazine of Star Citizen. A lengthy monthly newsletter including updates from the team, new in-universe fiction and behind-the-screens information about the game.

  • Your name in the game! We can’t tell you where you’ll find it, but if you subscribe for at least twelve months your name will be located somewhere in the Star Citizen world.
  • Jump Point: Year One, a printed collection of Jump Point issues provided to anyone who subscribes for the entire first year of development.
  • Visit Cloud Imperium and see how the game is made! Imperator-level subscribers will be allowed one visit per year (scheduled in advance) to the Star Citizen development offices in Austin or Los Angeles.
  • Three wishes – Chris Roberts will personally reply to three of your questions a year.
  • Your name on the wall-of-honor at Cloud Imperium HQ if you subscribe for at least 12 months.
  • Imperator and Centurion decals for your ship.

Mhm, the Imperator level doesn't sound that much better than Centurion, though print versions of Jump Point would sure be nice.

Still, I think I prefer to spend some more on pimping up ships, than getting those. I also wonder, will that " exclusive catalog of Star Citizen subscriber merchandise" be the same for Centurion and Imperator?

Lol, goons. Though if they can organize as well as in EVE, and have skill to actually fly those ships, they will be a force to be reckoned with.

Are those silhouettes legit? I know some people have seen the unreleased ship art from onsite cloud imperium visits. But i havent seen any leaks myself.

You guys have way too much money to spend on games... you should come vacation to the Azores, spend that hard earned cash at our bars, beaches, restaurants and in our hookers (they are incredibly clean).

Spending on hookers and booze is also retarded, but somehow it's more socially acceptable.
