The butthurt has begun.

F.

That was expensive. I suppose they could continue supporting their favourite dream hobby and spend whatever's left of their income on a Game Pass sub so they can actually play something in the meantime. Maybe call their guy "Star Citizen" and LARP that the day finally arrived. What are Bethesda games for, if not LARPing for immersion?

I'm torn about this. Even as a scam, there's no possible way there could be anything out there that is worse than Bethesda's broken, inept slop.

However, Starfield has the advantage that it actuallys exists.

Starfield's advantage is that the gameplay will be fun. The game will be designed around a gameplay loop and systems and interactions that actually exist. The content, the NPCs and the quests, are there ready and waiting for you to engage with.

Star Citizen isn't very fun to play, as the gameplay loops are not complete. They are dependent on the implementation of things that may or may not happen in the future. It's designed to be a sandbox MMO with the content being the other players, but the servers aren't capable of hosting more than 100 of them and they are spread out across a star system. So you never bump into other players who are supposed to be your content. Capital ships which require dozens of players can't be manned because again, server limitations. Because no one can crew capital ships, there is no reason for most ships in SC to be used. No real reason to pull out your bombers if no one is using capital ships. Because no big battles happen, there is no reason to bring your medical ship. Because colonization hasn't been added, fights on planets don't happen, so there is no reason to get geared up with armor and weapons or to bring tanks and missile launchers and so on.

Apparently they will be releasing patch next week that will increase amount of people per server from 100 to 200.
Lol! People are struggling just to login for 2 patches now... good timing to double down on the problem.

If the servers can hold for at least a couple hours then this could make the game more fun to play, as you would have a higher chance of running into other players during your play session. At least being a criminal should be more exciting if there are more bounty hunters coming after you, though that won't fix the fundamental issue with bounty hunting that deters people from wasting their time on it.

The butthurt has begun.

That's pathetic; I suppose most of them are already well into the thousands invested in ships and other paraphernalia. Good thing is that if CR someday releases this abomination I might be able to sell them the stuff I got from backing it 10 years ago :dealwithit:

You can already sell them on the grey market, but you'll "lose" money.

If you are from EU or UK you can get a full refund from CiG if you do it properly.

Oh you poor poor man you didn't cash out years ago?

I was in a gaming hiatus for like 4 years and had forgotten about this until Starfield reminded me of its existence. I'll probably try going thru the grey market, thanks mates.

How anybody who learned about even a fraction of Freelancer's woes bought into this is absolutely beyond me. If you were new to everything and blindsided by groupthink hype and all, sure, fine, it's your dignity. But damn, Freelancer was my introduction to tragicomedy in game format. Every tiny little scrap of deep worldbuilding scattered throughout optional and mostly irrelevant locations was like a chorus of unappreciated subordinate developers bewailing the dead.

Wait, my Aurora MR is worth like 90 bucks? A mate bought me an SR backer account in 2013 because he was desperate for me to play it with him. I'm pretty sure he paid $30

EDIT: Can I sell the entire account and make money? If so, :salute: Chris Roberts for his pioneership

Starter packs (aurora or mustang) are 55$ without VAT.
And yeah people trade their accounts on black market.

There's no collision check when a player stands up from the medical bed, combine that with a tractor beam equipped multi-tool and you get a noclip.

Or they can use cutting tool to open doors or just wait for someone to go out of ship and they usually forget to close door. Stole plenty of ships when I tried to play as pirate a year ago.
