Oh really, interesting. I also have the "Very High" setting ticked and my game looks like garbage (I've got a HD7970 as well), so much fucking bloom and ssao and all ridiculous terrible graphics features that are overused by all popamole developers. I've had to apply quite a few config tweaks to get it to look better, and even then I'd still be embarrassed to take a screenshot and say the game looks good.

It does look like shit at the moment, but that's to be expected. The word "optimization" is overused when discussing computer games, but I think it fits here. CR has specifically stressed that the Hangar Module is highly unoptimized at this time. It doesn't even have dynamic LOD adjustment, or AA/AF in the menu options (haven't tried using the GPU to force them).

Is an Aurora upgrade with it?

I don't understand the question.

Are any ships or variants unique to the pledging period?

No, all of them (as well as any flight suits, sidearms, etc.) will be available in-game. There is one partial exception: the Vanduul Scythe fighter. It too will be available in-game, but only via capturing. Captured ships cannot be insured. Pledge Scythes come with LTI.

Also is Aurora standard the standard starting ship?

It's the basic ship available at the lowest pledge level, so yes.

I must have been drunk... I mean is an Aurora upgrade worth it? (Is there more than one upgrade? (I know there is, but not all of them seem to be purchasable as upgrades.))

But can it be sold? :jew:

This brings up another thing though, if something is captured what happens to the original owner's LTI?

I should clarify. When somebody buys the game post release - is Aurora the one that they get when a) they start the game and b) they lose all their ships?

Aurora variants offer more stock equipment than the basic model, and stock equipment is replaced alongside the hull with standard hull insurance. The real question is whether or not it's worth $10 to you—it's definitely a step up from the basic model.

But can it be sold? :jew:

I'm fairly certain players will be able to sell things to each other in-game (it simply hasn't been explicitly stated by CIG), so probably. It can certainly be sold to NPCs.

I'm fairly sure that the cheapest option will always include an Aurora, even post-release, yes. If you lose an uninsured Aurora however, you can theoretically be left with no ships at all, and would have to (for example) hire yourself out as a turret gunner or some such for a while.

Please reply to edit as well. :3

If a ship with LTI is captured, from the victim's perspective insurance will replace their ship, upgrades, and/or cargo just as though the ship had been destroyed. The captured ship can't be insured. The obvious conclusion is that people could commit insurance fraud with their friends to get free copies of ships, and this hasn't escaped CIG. There will be measures in place to detect and prevent shenanigans, and the punishment for such behavior will be severe—from rendering the source ship uninsurable (this includes removal of LTI) to account bans.

He's successfully tapped into the EVE market.

This could be interpreted in numerous different ways, but just to be clear—trading isn't central to EVE's ethos. Oh, there are enormous centralized markets, and plenty of trading going on, but the meat of the game is about squatting on territory and blowing shit up.

It's still Jews in Space though.

Ah they're adding another 50,000 alpha slots, so I can just go back to procrastinating some more - great!

If you fancy LTI, you have until November 26th. After that, no new ships with LTI can be generated by anyone, original backers included.

That said, there will likely be limited-time promotional exceptions for the Constellation variants debut, the Freelancer variants debut (I'm looking forward to a labia-shaped variant), and possibly the Xi'an scout and Banu Judeversenden reveals.

Jump Point 11 released and it seems to have some info about the Freelancer, is it anything worthy, Blaine?

Yeah, it's about the Freelancer... yay. I'm so excited. I bet you can just tell how excited I am.

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/media/sgpngg3uy2jqsr/source/JumpPoint_01-11_Oct_13_Born-Free.pdf

It looks like an ugly metal dick, its armament is comparable to a heavy fighter's except that it's larger, slower, and less maneuverable, etc. Still, those are personal biases based on looks (people actually voted in favor of that look) and preliminary ship stats.

Thanks for the link, and yeah, probably going to switch to a Hornet at this point seeing how University is likely to make me have not too much time to play constantly, and I've got an Aurora LX too so that should cover the exploration-trading side if the need ever arises.

Given your biases, I don't doubt it. We hear what we expect to hear. For example, to me you sound like a shitposting twat beating a dead horse.

I provide information about the project when prompted or when it seems relevant, provide certain services for other Codexers if asked to do so ("laundering" LTI, for example), post related news I find interesting, and discuss the game with those who are interested—pretty standard stuff.

You on the other hand buzz into the thread like an annoying gnat to bash the game and insult people, usually me. While this adds flavor and is Codex tradition, you're still a shitposting twat. I shitpost on occasion myself, but I generally don't return time after time to the same thread and trot out the same tired bait I used last week.

That's p. damn cool. I wonder how many space credits would Roberts want for Vanduul playable characters.
