Yeah, but if we can actually build an alcubierre drive, I assume making shit in orbit won't be such a hassle

I dunno, at the rate things are going I expect we'll have a working Acubierre drive before we've even sent someone back to the moon. Space Exploration may as well be dead these days, SpaceX and its ilk be damned.

Heh. I'd seen that some weeks ago and actually thought of it during the recent "discussions" in this thread.

Got into the latest big batch of multiplayer invites. Lag, crashes and rubberbanding everywhere, gave up after an hour.

Put it back in the oven, this shit aint ready. Expected a little more as its now July.

Its not that bad but with the rubber banding i think missiles are king, in fact i got all my kills with them finishing with lasers shooting at random hoping to hit something.

Ah, so it's for mooning people.

A year ago seeing it would have made me consider a real money purchase
:hmmm:
Go play in the traffic.

If it looks similar to a spindly, practical NASA design, why then it must be more realistic—even if you have absolutely no explanation for why that might be?

Please explain why that design makes sense, in detail, and how you can tell it's "carefully thought-out."
Dumbfuck this man plox.

Pocahontas-in-space ship design is actually described in detail in fluff and it's clearly one of the best if not the best sci-fi ship design in cinematography (also probably the main reason why I even liked :avatard: ).
Avatard arguably features the greatest amount of :obviously: research used for a horribly trite purpose (telling banal, recycled story) since the wonders of modern computing has been used for facebook.

Is the DFM still a buggy piece of shit? Don't want to clear 10gb off my drive until it's worth doing so.

Ok, it's official, this game will be shit, or at least the biggest dissapointment of history. You can't just promise new features in every weekl. How did Roberts design the game at all, if there is no clear vision, he is making up stuff every day. Please tell me Chris, how much money do you need for the game to fellate me?

They will work with linguists to create authentic alien languages. Wow, great way to blow off money for nothing. An authentic sounding, but not real language is not different than a completely made up gibberish language in a videogame.

This is the first time I regretted pledging for a kickstarter, and not pledging for Elite. Can I demand a refund in any way?

Psst, he doesn't really need the money to do that feature. It's just something to keep people interested, like in a Kickstarter campaign.

Well, I don't care for it, but for fluffy extra features it's appropriate. This game better be the game of the generation at this point, heh.

At this point it's the most hyped space sim in decades, possibly ever. Roberts needs to worry more about deflating that fucking hype machine before it blows up in his face.

Albeit, I appreciate this feature and think it should be stock in any space game. Fuck Ass Effect and it's shitty american accent on every eldritch beast from beyond the stars.

Grand Admiral Blaine has yet to give me my copy. Of course if it's not on Steam it can fuck off.

I'm talking about the thread that got you this. Not that I trust this game in any bit (I pretty much dismissed both this and the new Elite by the time they ran the campaigns) but at least Star Citizen has a budget 50 million bucks, capable of hiring whatever the fuck actors they wants or implement whatever alien languages they can.

Meanwhile Double Fine had a couple of millions, had to do an adventure game (relatively simple mission compared to a friggin space simulator) and blew tons of money on doing animation and hiring Jack Black and Jennifer fucking Hale for voice acting.

I don't know, I just find it funny how you're defending/favoring one piece of shit dev team over the other.

Well the Elite dev team already has a functional Beta and realistic plans for expansion and implementation. The core gameplay is already in place.

Meanwhile Star Citizen had a hangar module for a year, and now an underwhelming combat alpha. Now they're talking about developing their own space languages so people will give them more money, while the development cycle continues dragging on indefinitely.

It's clear to see who's ahead in this pew pew space race.

I'll hold judgement until both games are at least at 1.0
Different schedules, different teams, different scope of development, etc, etc, etc...
I don't think the comparison is accurate.
