Is it just me or doesn't it look like movement has no force feedback at all?
Better get in now before the bubble bursts!
Right now, people are still paying on the (far too optimistic in my not-at-all-humble opinion) hope that the game will be the best thing since sliced bread. Once the game comes closer to release and people realize it does not ship with blackjack and hookers, those virtual spaceship values will plummet. A lot of my bile towards the hundreds of dollars virtual ships stems from the fact that RSI are better off not releasing the game at this point. The longer they delay with new and silly features, the more they can milk the virtual ships market. Once the game is out, their license to print money expires.
The ships are worthless now. Saps just haven't caught up. All the more reason to sell now while the market exists.
Some say that spending backer money on a video parody to make them by more virtual ships is the oldest scam ...in the world!
The ships are worthless now because the game isn't even released.
What the game looks like with a proper FOV, the ship speed increase, recent upgrades to weapon sounds/velocity/graphics, thruster sounds, and a handful of other things.
I hate the computer voices and will be muting them if they're not moddable. It's tough to beat Aura. https://soundcloud.com/ccpgames/eve-online-aura-warping-to?in=ccpgames/sets/aura
Commence more whinging about pledge ships. I'm still trying to decide how to spend the $3,040.62 in profit I still have left over from scalping that Idris and Vanduul Fighter. My computer already runs just about every game on the planet on ultra, and I'm a man of simple tastes... perhaps a hundred 100-count display boxes of Slim Jims?

Looks much better. Main concerns is still gimped joystick support. That looks wonderful, but if it prioritizes keyboard+mouse over joystick, that's bullshit. Frankly, I don't think a flight sim should be "input agnostic", there should be tangible benefits to having a hotas setup, and if that's not how it ends up as it nears release, I'm just not interested.
Also, any word on the scope of the game?

But that's the biggest misconception about it. Everybody (even you guys) talk about HOTAS as if that is the only solution when it comes to joysticks. Nobody has to buy a 200 dollars HOTAS and a cockpit setup, but they could get a simple joystick for 40 bucks and that is as good as anything for this games. Not as comfortable as a HOTAS, sure, but it has the axis and throttle control it needs. As much as I'd like for HOTAS to be the best and most viable control method, I do think people have a fair point when they complain that they shouldn't have to buy two hundred dollars' worth of peripherals
I disagree. I used a HOTAS and now I use a simple Logitech Cyborg Evo. Believe me, its precision is perfect after 10 years, and it is competitive in a game like Star Citizen. The only adventage a HOTAS might have is the use of rudder pedals, otherway an experienced joystick user has no disadventage over HOTAS in a game like Star Citizen. Because its combat system is just not that complex. In a real flight sim, like the DCS series HOTAS has adventage because you have to manage your plane in a more complex manner, managing speed is more important, have to use flaps, airbrake, selecting radar modes, attack modes, missiles etc. For that, a HOTAS is important. Star Citizen, although the ships are quite detailed, won't have that level of complexity.Average Joe could buy a simple joystick, but there's a world of difference between a joystick and a proper HOTAS.
Someone with a proper HOTAS will have an advantage over someone who's using a cheap and imprecise joystick with few buttons and advanced functions, no throttle, and no pedals. If the idea is to be competitive (and that is the main issue), than a standard joystick doesn't measure up.

Why would I lie to you? The Saitek Cyborg Evo is a very well made joystick, with good sensors and a centering spring. I admit I wasn't playing with it non stop, but I've put a thousand hours into it.Believe me, its precision is perfect after 10 years, and it is competitive in a game like Star Citizen.
I figured the scope was expansive, but hadn't been keeping up on the details as much as I'm concerned with the core gameplay, which is why it was put in as an afterthought.Looks much better. Significant benefits for HOTAS users over mouse and keyboard with few or no disadvantages just isn't going to happen, so you might as well save yourself the trouble and eject now. As much as I'd like for HOTAS to be the best and most viable control method, I do think people have a fair point when they complain that they shouldn't have to buy two hundred dollars' worth of peripherals and a special cockpit setup in order to be fully competitive. That said, the apparent mouse supremacy and current lack of controller agnosticity of any kind isn't acceptable either, and is my biggest complaint about the game currently. I can deal with HOTAS supremacy or controller agnosticity, but not with mouse supremacy.

You've been squatting like a vulture in this thread for months Brofisting everyone who shits on the game or busts my balls, and you don't even know fundamental details of how the game's being developed?
The goal is over 100 (115+ at this point) detailed star systems, each with its own theme and backstory, numerous points of interest including typically one or more landable planets, possibly one or more landable moons, landable space stations, pirate bases, asteroid belts, derelict ships (the Bengal Carriers in lawless space must be found, fought over, repaired, claimed, and defended from other jealous organizations, for example), wormholes, etc. Some systems will be part of relatively safe space featuring space police to help protect crybabies from PvP, others will be pirate systems or frontier systems with no law/anarchy, others will be alien systems including aliens hostile to all of humanity (mainly the Vanduul), still others will be completely undiscovered (by anyone) and available for some player to discover the jump point data for by successfully finding and navigating the relevant wormhole.
Now, some systems will no doubt be more dense than others, especially in core sectors, and I'm not sure how many of these will genuinely be complete come release. We'll see.

And I'm all for HOTAS supremacy. It's not like not having it makes the game impossible to play, but a superior input method should lead to superior results.
I think you know the difference. Input mechanism, monitors, etc., are independent of the game. Paying for an advantage in the game is completely different. For one, it effectively increases the cost of the game, which is already quite high. Second - the main issue with the selling of ships that I and others have isn't the HUR DUR ADVANTAGE, but rather the ponzi scheme appearance of their fundraising activities. And I'm all for HOTAS supremacy. Interesting. In you opinion, it's all right for someone to buy an advantage via thousands of dollars spent on top-of-the-line HOTAS, tablet PC HUDs/MFDs, a simpit, an ultra-widescreen and/or multiple monitors, headtracking gear, etc., but a $200 pledge ship (the actual advantage of which, in the grand scheme of things, is highly debatable) for a crowdfunded game is absolutely intolerable to you?
