Few people here uses 1280 x 1024. I have 2 PC's, one for work with is the more modern and one for gaming which i only upgrade when is absolute necessary and has it since my childhood. About the geographical region, i don't live in Chile, but Chile is richer than some European countries in GDP per capita. Many people from US tends to believe that everything in Latin America is the same, from the Northern Part of Mexico to the southern part of Patagonia.

Why so many games insist on oversized weapons? It is not cool or interesting. It is just retarded.

Personally I choose the highest resolution in which I can still read the text easily without using glasses, and with correct aspect ratio.
That means 1280x1024 or lower for some older games. To me Age of Wonders looks best in 800x600, for example.

It looked too flat without shaders, and this was the least offensive one I could find. It wasn't supposed to look "authentic".
