Skyrim needs to become the next liberal. Don't you guys have better games to play in your backlog?

Contrary to what cultured snowmen think, preventing people from mentioning a subject does not make it go away.

Oh god, that Ultima is worse than anything I could think of. I don't even mind the color-coded loot since that's how ARPGs work, but that cash shop screen. That cash shop screen, man!

Also, "You have no friends" bit. They could keep it blank, or have only an "Add" button...but they especificlly chose to write "You have no friends" there. It resonates inside your mind.

You have no friends.

You have no friends.

Buy more keys.

You have no friends.

You deserve a manopener where it hurts the most. Time to make page 242 not so full of shit games and decline.

Do you really think the victims of loverslab degeneracy are nothing more than 3d simulations for a depraved and decadent audience blessed by a radiant AI that is immune to the scars such terrible, chauvinistic, savagely patriarchal acts leave at the victim?

BE8U1oD.jpg

Kaverra The Castrator will fight the good fight against the rape-ableist patriarchy, with her Manopener, and the help of a sympathetic gentleman called Edward and his warband. Edward aspires to be a king, and has sworn to Kaverra to fight the good fight by ensuring the crime of rape will be eradicated through draconian measures once he unites Pendor again. For now though, he is just a Mercenary Captain for the invaders of the distant Empire, ruled by Marius Imperator, a man who freed his people from the control of a vile snake melonhead worshipping religion that demanded constant human sacrifices, forging the first secular reign in Pendor and beyond. Differently from certain savage machete rape gang LARPers in a certain Mojave wasteland, Marius was a proper Imperator, a proper Caesar, a cultured and civilized ruler.

:obviously:

Among Edward Hughes crew a cultured and brave veteran of Krautland Mettenheim and part of a shipwrecked diplomatic envoy was of notice because of his skills with the Zweihander and his excellent abilities in spite of being a middle aged guy.

There wasn't much to do at that time however, because the Imperium is at peace, and Edward is not confident enough he has enough right to rule and experience to try forging his own kingdom yet. There were always bounties from knightly orders against certian undesirables, however, and at Scotland Ravenstern, they were close to one of their chapters.

The Knights of the Dragon are offering rewards for REMOVE KEBAB to return the Jatu to their precious mongolia. Or slaughter mountain liberals

9tU5TUp.jpg

However, along the bounty hunting travels... damn!

vOzxLUC.jpg

Edward's warband is inside enemy territory, and getting the reward for those bounties on liberals and kebab will involve trying to sneak inside a Ravenstern town.

Run! Run!

Oh shit, they got them, a hundred against over one thousand, and worse, because of how Mount and Blade: Warband combat works, those one hundred won't be on the battlefield all at once to make the odds a little better.

bwcxyWR.jpg

Edward has chosen to fight no matter how doomed this battle is, for there is no retreat.

tmMZ5lE.jpg

They may win, but they will pay a price for their victory they won't like!

Then he fell down, not even knowing what has hit him.

REAL CHOICES AND CONSEQUENCES

ry3fsPZ.jpg

Some of his companions won't like this, but he has no option but to choose which honor to sacrifice, for who knows what these men would do to prisoners in those dungeons? Thus, he has chosen to spare his other honor, by leaving half of his band to fight to the death so the rest could escape those one thousand men.

The 63 men who made their stand against 1138 will never be forgotten

:salute:

Such is life in Pendor.

"Pewnego razu obudziłeś się ogarnięty obsesją, że jestem twoją czaszką i goniłeś mnie wokół iglicy, próbując mnie roztrzaskać i pożreć... Na szczęście przejechał cię na ulicy jakiś przejeżdżający powóz. Innym razem, jako 'dobry i praworządny', próbowałeś mnie wrzucić z powrotem do Słupa, bo 'tam było moje miejsce'." Morte sili się na wymuszony uśmiech. "Właśnie dlatego."

Just finished I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream.
I really loved the 'bad' ending. I literally enjoyed that slap on my face after hours of messing with the game.

So, what now?

System Shock 2 ( gamma 2.2, 640x480 ) The game is much darker originally, my screen cap app use desktop gamma.
Did you use DDFix? I remember I turned color saturation to around 20%, then added very slight bloom to emphasize the light sources. Then I turned contrast a bit to make shadows darker.
At first I was lost, because the game has great use of color for navigational purposes, and that was one hell of a fucking playthough.

Perspective is, when graphic design respects how human vision works. Things near you appear sharper, until you cross eye retina focus threshold ( things, that are very near appear very blurry ). Things more away from you appear blurry, or very blurry far away ( until you use some zoom device, like Looking Glass ( Tm ) ) :D. Correct perspective creates an illusion of space, volume and solidity. In conclusion, graphic design should be made in accordance to retina focus field. Too much information is useless and will be ignored by brain anyway ( wow effect wears off ). In a long term you'll start to note the difference, between smooth work and wow effect.
Actually, Deus Ex: Human Revolution tried to do that.
I remember when I discussed stuff with an old bud about DX:HR graphics, we came to the conclusion that lowres textures on wallpapers and stuff were used not only to conserve video memory, but also to draw the player away from irrelevant things that would not interest the protagonist.

Visual guides. Just a bit of ambiance. To give the impression of a place. Focus is on something different. You know what I mean :salute:. That my friend, creates the experience, the mood of a place. It is a place with many different things. A glance at poster. Interesting. Looking at high res poster. Boring. You want a glance and move on. If the game is based on starring at high res objects, then it is a boring game.
You know, in the game like Deus Ex, I'd like to enter a library and waste weeks reading all the books, magazines and newspapers that are stored there, just because I can. Games like those are filled with background content, and that makes a great experience - yet it makes you want more and more.
Heck, I'd even like some consequences from that.

I see what you mean. You like to spend time there, because the place has certain ambient quality, that you love. It has its own special mood. It doesn't really matter, what the game is in fact, but it does matter a lot how you feel and what it makes you believe, when you play the game.
That's it.
I would actually like if System Shock 2 had more exploration - it has real potential for this. But it's a shame that even Bioshock has little of those moments to just even look around.

Talking about screenshots:

I spent a bit of time to rebalance the combat in DCotE. I always replayed chapters that included gunfights, because I fucking love the feeling of being fragile, yet deadly.
Good thing is - whatever damage is set to the weapon (and damage multipliers depending on the body part), it applies to both you and your enemies. If you can kill them with one shot, they can do that too.
Bad thing is - there is no way to change the accuracy of the enemy's shots. I can still pick them from afar, and have little chance to catch a bullet.

DCotE is one of my favorite horror games. It's too bad it had a few really difficult parts that stopped a lot of folks from really enjoying the game. Although I, personally, loved those sections because the sheer adrenaline and sense of accomplishment they gave me when I beat them. The whole first third of the game is pure genius, but damn did that hard part sour some people's view of it.

Busy in the land of Metal which suspiciously enough contains lots of chicks which in fact are not fat and/or ugly, somehow:

BL1.png

Also it contains giant monsters...

BL2.png

...and strangely familiar looking arachnophile dude named Kill Master...

BL3.png

...along with this also oddly familiar guy.

BL4.png

Also the antagonist is a gigantic "hair metal" faggot. This kind of faggotry requires the use of Godzilla, the cis-het oppressor supreme, to deal with it.

I have no idea what double fine was thinking when they thought regenerating health is a good idea in game like this. You're supposed to hack shit up and grab healing orbs or something, running and waiting for health to regenerate is not metal FFS. Also the PC version has somewhat clunky controls, was it that fucking hard to change the radial menus to work with the mouse scroll wheel or at least allow them to be assigned to individual keys?

The (very lite) RTS bits remind me of Giants: Citizen Kabuto. Apart from that so far it's a decent but not stellar action game with Schafer's trademark humor mixed with metalhead in-jokes, plus cameos from know metal musicians.

War is crasy expensive... Good thing I found that I can demand cash for peace - from each enemy in alliance separately.
