Is there any good writing and quest design? Asking as a storyfag - if it's a h&s or 100% focus on combat, I won't bother. The crappyness of the port is already putting me off, not to mention that indeed you can't see shit on the screen. Or rather shit is the only thing you see.

Don't bother then, it's about combat. The above still applies, though. Also consider getting better glasses, gramps
