Does Severance have real crazy physics, or was something wrong on my system, I recall throwing objects down on to another item on the floot, like a shield, which would propel them upwards with far greater speed. And that's just one of many examples. Hilarious how I managed to hit enemies this way, by randomly making swords fly at hilarious speeds. Also, putting down a shield made it spin first for a longer period than one would expect.

Great game, pioneering in using opponents limbs as weapons and with great sword combat.

I like the dialog and story here a lot, and the overall look & character design is fantastic (especially 4x native emulation), but after Luke cuts his hair he becomes such a wimp that is annoying... also, Kingdom Hearts 2 copies some parts of this game's story so much is ridiculous... at least in Tales it makes sense.

The extremely complex combat of strafing in a circle around an enemy and attacking when they start their slow attack animation aimed at the air in front of them?
Severance is ten times worse, you can't even fucking block, the only thing you can do is either keep going back & forth or circle around the same way you are making fun of... Dark Souls allows you to play as a mage, pyromancer, cleric, or even get the heaviest armor & shield available and became a walking fortress that attacks from behind the shield with a lance. And there are smart encounters and enemies that force you to fight differently, like curses that turn you to stone, ghosts that ignore shields, poisonous swamps, giant hydras, flying & flame breathing gargoyles...

There is really no comparisson on the depth of combat, instead of accusing me of not playing Severance, go play Dark Souls and see for yourselves.

Bro, I played through Dark Souls twice, and I also think it's a better game than Severance overall. You, on the other hand, are either lying, or too dumb to find the block button. In any case, Dark Souls has more variety on the surface, and a more elaborate combat system, but most of it is wasted on poor encounter design and From Software's desire to make an arcadey platformer. So, instead of actually making the player fight larger groups of enemies with good AI, you get more and more gimmicks, monsters which crush you until you learn their attack patterns, and then never take damage from fighting one. The game would be way better if it eased up on the sheer damage and insta-death capability, and instead forced the player to take risks to get anything done. As it is right now, a grand majority of it can be navigated with no risk at all, you just need to know how to, and it's not even particularly difficult.

It's a very good game either way, but definitely not some insanely deep paragon of wonderful design that can do no wrong. Just gets a free ride because it's so different from the awful crap that gets released nowadays. I suppose.

Jagged Alliance 2 (1.13 build 4870)

New aiming interface. Still not sure if I like it but it's pretty informative - instead of just numbers and colour coded circles like in vanilla.

Storm at night. Looks much better in motion

A night-ops pair of sniper-spotter can be really overpowered at night. Enemies didn't fire a single shot.
However when there are ~20 enemies pulling this is impossible.

All guns are fitted with suppressors, optics for long range and CQB and SCAR has an extended barrel mod installed for better precision and range. Gonna try the modification kit for it that allows it to use 6.8mm ammo :gunporn:

So you're not playing NCTH? You should, it makes it less popamole.

Then I dunno how you're finding night sniper/spotter to be effective. You get a 100% TH penalty if you fire at an enemy your sniper can't see, making spotters useless, and sniper rifles only mount 7x/10x scopes, which is too much for night combat, giving you even more (and substantial) penalties. Sniper rifles are also really slow, you fire one shot, miss and next turn you're in enemy handgun range.

Now that is a true night ops weapons :salute:

M21 is semi-auto
Plus I have spotter to cover me up close.

You just spot enemies with binos turning around during your turn and then pop them with the sniper. Perfect. Just like IRL.

Binos extend normal view distance considerably, they also give wide field of view - unlike optics.
Just scanning around with a sniper rifle would be impractical because every AP counts. At the same time sniper rifle delivers more damage due to higher calibers plus high effective range. With a suppressor enemies don't see and hear you firing.

And finally x10 scope adds +2 damage to every shot.

If you're hitting anything at close range with a 10x scope, then you're probably not using NCTH.
