Simple screens like this for all your party's provisions and preparations. What else do you need?!

Understated and tasteful way to start an venture

Shitty screenshot, but archaic text and quintessential fantasy music inspire the imagination.

Strange encounters with mysterious characters abound.

Game's typical :obviously: enemy/character art, from the days before glass eyed, animu lolitas took over

Special encounter...that respawns every time you enter the second floor.

Text descriptions trigger the RPG pleasure centers of the brain.

I need to play MP again.

My problem whenever I go to do so is, well, which one? I've played MP1 three times, didn't like MP2 that much (except the fortress, fucking amazing level and boss) and feel like I should replay MP3 but also feel like it was a bit popamole. What do I do :(

MP1 was the best imo. 3 was really linear and had so many cutscenes.

Yeah I noticed that too. What's up with those gay cutscenes and dialogs in Prime 3? Destroys the special atmosphere of solitude from MP1/2 completely.

Give developers a little bit more hardware power, and what are they gonna do with it? Make storyfag cutscenes with it.

By the way, for those who still have UT99, someone did a remake of Return to Napali featuring some of the levels in the Unreal 1997 Beta that didn't make to the final version and were reworked for it.

Looks good, will definitely try it out when I'm in the mood for Unreal.

Mystic Towers! I played that to death as a kid! That game had good gameplay...

Now I have grown up and I play this...

Same here, it was one of my favourite games on the 386. I keep going back to these Apogee games every few months. Sometime ago I finished Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure and Dark Ages again for the first time in 20 years or so, such "simple" but brilliant games often with excellent soundtracks.

The Lovecraft game looks intriguing , will try it out sometime.
