I'm taking it slow and I've only just finished mission 32. FPS drops seem to be the strongest weapon of that fortress.

It's been a while since i played it, and i wondered - "does it hold up?". Aside from these few rough moments - yes, it does hold up. Great atmosphere, decent level design and enemy encounters. On "I'm a death incarnate" RTCW is reasonably challenging, without any "did they ever playtested this shit?" difficulty spikes (except for one stupid stealth mission where you had to use trial and error).

You can tell a game has aged well visually if you look at old screenies and think "huh, that looks nice".

Grand Magus Mista Wu, Samantha Foxwen, Ivan the friendly russian lumberjack, Michelle Obama and Daganoth, the friendly reptillian who has the most balanced stats. The player still can changed them, so it's not a problem. I go for the foxy lady.

After taking the sword and learning healing and freezing spells I'm on my own.

Damn soldiers everywhere mocking me. The death animations are excellent, just like all the graphics.

Freezing enemies makes the combat more comfortable. Just like in Morrowind, the more weapons/magic I use, you acquire experience and can level physical attacks and magic schools between dungeons.

Damn, Raiden caught me snooping around the throne chamber. Tough fight.

There are many deadly traps, aside from the obvious giant boulders here and there. Like this one, a magic brofist waiting to smack you.

Oh my, I presume this won't be a short and easy journey.
