Some folks didn't care. Some others demanded a refund from HBS because it broke with the spirit of Kickstarter.
right.. the spirit of getting idiots to pay you money on the promise that they might or might not get something in return.
It's fine to sell the game you made, but don't break up content and turn it into DLC non backers have to pay for. That's fucked up man. The development cost was set by the stretch goal.
and the development of the game was covered by the kickstarter campaign. how is selling the game after backers paid for its development any different than charging for some other stuff backers made happen? it was self-evident that it would be dlc or patched in later too, since they had a friggin tight schedule.

Will either Dragonfall or Berlin improve the editor (aside from new tilesets)?

New Game Editor Features: A wide range of enhancements to the game editor for community content creators – including a scripting system to better control lighting, tracking mission objectives in the main game UI, placing exploding barrels, and allowing players to input keypad passwords and custom text strings in conversations. In addition, content creators will be able to use all of the new Berlin environment art, items and characters in their own stories along with assets from the original Shadowrun Returns campaign.

Also nice to see you did not give a single coin to a game you apparently at least enjoy enough to hope to play the sequel.

What's wrong with getting a free key from someone? Is he now some kind of asshole because he didn't go back and pay for a game he got for free from someone else?

Nothing but when the dude also said he felt raped by HBS policy while it did not pay a single coin...
And that HBS has a moral obligation for people not having backed the game.
The guy fears nothing.
By the way i feel raped by Bethesda, i did not buy nor even play Skyrim but it's not the game i wanted it to be.
I wanted a TB iso cRPG in space.

I was one of the guys who got a refund when the neogaf thread went up. I got a free key later I'll get one again for Dragon Fall since my friend has, I think, three keys from his tier.

Anyway, it's a dead horse I don't want to beat anymore.

So you really only wanted to complain out of some vague sense of entitlement? I'm sure you'll fit right in. :M

With exception of the barrels, all the rest were implemented into the editor on the last patches. The most important addition is a save anywhere system (if it actually saves something useful and ins't a half assed system).

$14.99...Isn't that almost as much as the actual game?

shiver me timbers
It will probably be longer and better than the actual game (campaign).
Don't get your expectation too high.
They said it will about the same size and the main difference is it will be less linear.
But the feeling i got what they mean by less linear is that you could choose to do mission B before A so don't expect too much though they also said there will be a few sidequests.
If you don't like the first you will not like Berlin too.

Actually, I liked the first campaign. And I'll be glad to buy Berlin.
I didn't have any problems with games being linear, I didn't have problems with savegames.
Another thing - in Berlin you'll have a constant party instead of mercenaries.

I get where you're coming from, but I don't quite agree that you can discuss business practices you disagree with only if you paid for the game. I didn't buy Dead Space 3, but I thought it was bullshit that it contained microtransactions and I said as much. I did, however, buy SRR for full price on release and I can't help but agree with him that it's a dick move to shaft everyone who preordered or bought the game for full price after release.

Collectors edition pre-orders get the DLC though.

"Now to be clear, our Backers and Collector’s Edition Pre-orderers will get the Berlin Campaign at no charge. Any DLC developed after launch will require payment. "

Those two cases are different, Dead Space III charged you for microtransactions after charging 60 $ dollars on it, it got a really important system within the game and put a pay wall on it, affecting the whole balance and gameplay of the game in the process . Dragonfall was a DLC turned on a full campaign, there wasn't any promise to non backers and when Shadowrun Returns was released on steam it was very clear since day one that it wouldn't include Berlin.

It isn't because no one gets shafted.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. If it was only that the backers get the campaign for free and not that new buyers pay an overall lower price for both, I wouldn't mind. I just feel a bit shit about the fact that if I bought the new campaign now I would have paid $35 altogether, yet a new player can apparently get both for $25. Even a simple -$5 on the DLC for already owning the base game would have been nice.

Seeing as I was very disappointed with the original campaign and didn't even bother finishing it, I probably will wait to buy this on 75% off anyway.

Sorry, I just read back the last few pages and I seem to have misread veryalien's posts somehow or maybe confused him with someone else. I thought he was complaining about the price and not the fact that we aren't getting it for free. I never expected them to give it to us for free, I just feel a bit iffy about the price for the early adopters.
