Skyrim is worse than Oblivion in every way

I'm really sad that they haven't made a 2D map for Skyrim yet. That 3D map is really awkward to navigate and unreliable... enjoy walking to the wrong side of a goddamn mountain because you read the map from a wrong angle.

So close, but so far...
Its actually not so difficult.

Interesting, but why?
Seems like a whole lot of effort for little real benefit.

MW modding scene have some batshit insane coders, once the port is completed who knows what will be implemented,

inb4 somone suggest a porn mod

Dude that made code patch achived much with a simple exe hacks, fixed the rain colision, savegame corruption, fixed unarmed skill, much less CTD's and much of other stuff

Good talent wasted on a mediocre game and ever worse franchise.

(but please, enlighten me)

It's open source, meaning it can be modified and edited easily, performance issues etc can finally be fixed, and most of all, it's a complete game engine that anyone can use to create their own game.

It's also cross-platform, which is kinda important if you don't run Wintendo.

Has there been any news about that Andoran: Prologue tc mod?

Even before the release of Skyrim, the Andoran team had started workon transferring the project to the new Creation Engine (file formatsof Oblivion and Skyrim are very similar). That decision meant we wereable to include things of which the Oblivion engine is incapable, evenexpanding the gameplay possibilities along the way. Here is a shortlist of the new things which the Creation engine has allowed us to
implement:

- full-scale battles on land and sea (with the player being able to participate);
- the possibility to buy every empty house;
- painting and making music;
- providing training to other characters;
- employing couriers who can travel anywhere on Andoran;
- renting rooms and houses for any length of time.

We have also introduced the system of Daedric Ratings which will allow the environment and especially NPCs to react more realistically to interactions with you.

Just to be clear, transferring the game to the TES V engine doesn't imply that we will be using Skyrim's game mechanics however. The role-playing system is closer to that in TES III: Morrowind in point of fact.

Another thing that Daggerfall has, which other TES games do not.

If you join a disreputable guild - Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood - and/or if you sink deep enough into the villain reputation and/or if you don't have a high personality - people stop talking to you. Completely! That is a terrible consequence in a game where you need to talk to people to find quest locations or to obtain work.

People know who you are, they don't like you, and they don't want anything to do with you. They already know that the last time you casually asked where someone lives, he ended up robbed or dead. You can't approach a single person, because they are shaking in fear at the sight of you. Words don't come out of their mouths, because they freeze. So simple, but so effective.

This is something which is totally missing and totally necessary in later TES games. There should be a negative consequence for the near impunity and abuse of power and privilege you get by being a high ranking assassin and thief. There is also a threshold point beyond which authorities don't care if you did your time, if you paid up for past crimes, or whatever. You commit too many serial crimes and they will kill you on sight.

Yeah sure, but isn't that still a price to pay. You must cast a spell or carry a magical item before talking to anybody if you are a disreputable character.

problem is that Guards often end up as annoyence when you get high enough level rather then something to be feared when you are Evil Darklord level 89 with full set Daedric armor and swords.

Oblivion better than skyrim in every way? Yep, that's the codex high on nostalgia juice again. It's amazing how quickly that stuff starts to work, I thought it only worked for games pre-2000. I think it is getting more potent.

Dozens of pages of people disagreeing, some even saying Skyrim's pretty good, and almost nobody apart from the OP thinking it's actually worse in every way... but it's in a thread title, therefore it is what THE ENTIRE CODEX THINKS OMG HIVEMIND, right? Amazing how that works.

Well in Morrowind being a vampire have similar results, no one wants talk to you besides some mages or other vampires, you can't trade, use transport (only phylons in fortreses), to bad only its so little to do as a vampire (only one vampire clan short quest line)

Yeah, sure. I think that mostly the people that support the idea, are just trying to be edgy.

They think they give three factions isntead of two is som ekind of innovashunTM?

The same reason that EA and lucas Arts created TOR online because they think that there is money to be made from it plus it is something that elder scrolls fans have been asking for, for years now. Zenimax media want a piece of the pie and look like they've been listening to der fans.
