There's honestly nothing better than watching people run into spirit guardians and die. It never gets old.
I agree, but watching an enemy roll a Charisma Saving Throw with -2 against Banishment comes very close.

1. I guess you recommend Scavenger difficulty for a challenge and first run?
2. I love mages in DnD games, and I am disappointed with the party of 4, but I MUST bring 2 mages on my adventure. So, I was thinking of bringing two mages, one leric, and one fighter (or any other frontliner). What do you think? Two humans and two dwarves, i dont like elves. Is a rogue mandatory (locked chests, traps, etc.)?

Thanks.
Any character with high dex , the skill proficiencies and the rogue tool kit works . You can get it with criminal background. So yes a rogue or ranger, those are really useful , there's many skill checks and traps. That's what a retarded mainstream journo would call forcing a specific party build...Else you can finish with pretty much everything i think.

On the matter of choices and branching paths, Solasta has plenty of that.

You need 3 fights to open the gate, but there's an optional 4th fight that nets you some nice gear. That's what the choice refers to.

Guys can someone tell me to whom shall I give a crown to wear? To wiz, rog, cleric or fighter? What bonuses/penalties from wearing a crown would be in future?
It casts resurrection spells once per day (or is it per short rest? Don't remember). So basically I'd say anyone but cleric, if you plan to die a lot (so you'd have two people with resurrections). Otherwise doesn't matter.

Thanks for answering, btw is there any magical headgear in game besides of this crown for other classes than cleric?

I think the only other item that occupies the head slot is the Headband of Intellect, which gives INT 19. It can be useful for an Eldritch Knight or a Shadowcaster.

EDIT: there's also an elm that allows you to understand any language, but I still haven't found any way to use it.

Flaming Orb is exquisite aswell. I am in that undead castle, and holding those zombie hordes at choke points with my Protected against Good and Evil fighters while the Flaming Orb damages them all once per turn, and one of them twice on my wizards turn is really nice.
This game is really growing on me.

Thanks, you mean headband that sets any int to 19 and not average bonus? Thats rather unusual.

can clr act as tank?
There are no "tanks" in 5E.
A Paladin with the Oath of Conquest and the Protection Fighting Style is the definition of a tank. He improves the defenses of the entire group, discourages enemies from attacking nearby allies, and prevents enemies around him from moving away to reach and attack other party members. That sounds like the definition of the role of a "tank" to me.

Damn I gave the crown to my Spellblade/Wannabe Eldritch Knight, that would have been really nice indeed.

Yes, magic items in 5E instead of giving a bonus to your ability scores usually set a fixed value. They brought this back from older editions to avoid situations where the player could stack many different bonuses to reach absurdly high values.

You might want to check the inventory of all the factions' contacts as soon as you can in order to learn what items you will be able to buy in the future. One of the first merchants you interact with sells a Belt of Giant Strenght (Fire) which sets your Strength score to 25, which means that you can ignore that ability to increase the other main ones on your frontliner.

It's quite barebones and lackluster. I think this game will go the way of NWN - people will come to cherish it for the sake of creating and enjoying custom stuff. The OC is definitely just a showcase of potential.

Then the editor needs more work, if they let you make one of the Adventures of the Yawning Portal modules into Solasta, then it might take off, but right now it needs more work and it could become its saving grace.

Overall modding tools could make this game better if somehow people can start adding classes.

Then again if you want to go full damage its probably better in solasta, you can down foes very fast. Nothing really requiring an heavy defense. As i said if i redo it, i rather use 4 dps , 3 ranger/rogue + wizard or sorc when it's out. Moving in stealthily using surprise and shooting everything before they can even get close is likely the best approach.
I went this road since it's my prefered playstyle and so far it pays off nicely. Altho I'm only on "scavenger" (4th default) mode, planning to tune it up once I'll sort out my equipment, craft some stuff etc.

My champion half the time functions as a tank (speaking of "there's no tank" - if I can provoke enemies either to hit him or receive AoO instead, it's enough for me. And mobs do receive AoO's from time to time and it looks justified, not like an AI error which is great) but later on I hope to give him some nice 2h wep. Darkweaver and shadowtamer (not sure at all about this subclass choice) mostly blasting stuff from stealth and shock arcanist also does his thing, complementing the other dps. If I can get surprize round (which is possible most of the times) it's over rather quickly. But seems that the game has its fair share of bs scripted fights, chained even. Eh, it's ok and it's totally manageble without a cleric.

But with all that my idea for possible second run is something completely opposite: 4 plate party, something like pal, fighter, life cler and a ranger with the feat. Lots of buffs, healing and playing slowly but surely.

Do I need to control the camera? Or is there some automatic solution for that?
You have to control it, all the time, yes. Not bothering me once I learned how to turn moving it with mouse on (ffs, it should work by default) but I know that some of the folks here might be annoyed to insane degrees by it, laughed my ass off from some AoD feedback.

Yeah, as a minmax whore I got somewhat triggered by it. I raised my fighter str up to 20 on 4 lvl and THEN got access to this nice little store. Jesus... It's especially glaring since the game doesn't have much diverse loot, it's mostly just common gear: armors, weapons and consumables.

But you don't need this and there is no trifecta of tank/healer/damage dealer in order for that MMO term to make sense.

Any suggestions on party composition? I'm completely new to 5E and do not get this "no tanks" system. So I don't need a frontliner with defensive capabilities?

The
green dragon
fight was brutal, but mostly due to me being retarded. I wonder if there's any way to avoid it.

I'm relatively new to 5e but as far as I can tell you don't need anyone in particular, even for higher difficulties. What you do need is an idea of your party however and of your personal fun, your own preferences.

Default party seems pretty good but strikes obvious parallels with M&M's default parties: yes, they cover every angle but they lack... direction, no matter in either min-max or LARPish sense, you may specialize much more and the game will reflect that choice. As I described above, I'm playing more like all-in damage dealers party and it works perfectly fine without cleric because the mobs rarely get their turn. But I'm pretty sure the opposite approach will work nicely as well.
