Still a Skaenite, after all this time... :P
It just makes so much sense to me and I can't resist its siren call. And it's super complex as a character concept in terms of roleplaying. I'm playing a Pathfinder campaign atm as a Cleric/Rogue and it's one of my favorite characters ever hands down. I've always been partial to playing clerics/priests in games, so that's also a factor.

I've also encountered another strange behavior: the guy who wears the Imperial Crown can't use a wand, because the item doesn't appear in his "character actions" bar. If it's not intended, than the crown is probably taking the only "item slot" in the bar.
You can still use the wand by opening the inventory and right clicking directly on the wand. Annoying but at least it's a workaround until they fix the issue. It would be better if the "use item power" icon would open a submenu with all the item powers the character has available.

I just lost to the first lizardpeople encounter in the cave, lol. I got bunched up in the center of the broken bridge and they kept shoving my characters down and whittling away at those who remain. I reloaded and lured them away from the bridge, then the fight was done in 2 rounds. It seems like positioning is very important, which is good, let's hope it doesn't turn out that all encounters are easily beatable by just bunching up your characters at the flattest position on the battlefield. Also, enemies are very keen on eating attacks of opportunity at every corner. They will eat all of them if it means getting to my wizard *who has 20 AC due to absurdly high DEX + the Shield spell).

So, yeah, I just spent 9-10 rounds trying to get to the last lizard person who crawls on the walls and attacks my dodging characters. This can go on forever depending on RNG mind you, since they have regeneration. How do you throw javelins?

It seems like wall climbing enemies that can attack at range is not the best idea in the world. It seems good on paper, but it's endlessly tedious in practice, especially if you have a more melee-focused party. It seems like an all-ranged party would be optimal for this game.

I can't select any of the crafting options, though? Do you need to find recipes first?

Also, is there a reason different merchants offer different prices when buying items? Quality of life features trump verisimilitude in this instance. There's also a bug where NPCs have a "click to interact with this character" sign under their names and I can't find a way to disable that.

Yeah. The early game is pretty sparse in recipes but you'll find more towards the end. The whole system feels pretty random at the moment though, I'm at the end of EA and I have a bunch of ingredients I have no recipes for, and plenty of recipes I can't craft for lack of ingredients. Myzzrym a bit more flexibility in crafting would be nice, so that you could use it to make specific stuff you want rather than being a convoluted system for making pre-selected loot available.

The magic and curiosities shop sells a bunch of ingredients, you could check there.

Having a ranged option on all your characters definitely helps, but melee is still important, because in many fights you get stormed and need someone to hold the line. Luckily, it's easy to build characters that are great both at range and in melee (Shock Wizards, War Clerics, any Rogue), and once you unlock Haste even your melee-only Paladin will never waste a single turn. You also get tons of wands of Magic Missile, so you can rely on that in the rare circumstance that every enemy is taking a walk on the walls.

Click on the "attack" UI element, then click on the enemy.

To craft stuff you need the relevant proficiency and tools (the only one you have to buy after character creation is the rosary, I think), then you need to find (and read) recipes (they have books for icons). As soon as you read your first recipe, it becomes clear how to craft an item.

Very funny. When I tried that, the char wanted to attack the lizard person in melee.
If you click on the Attack main action, your character goes for a melee attack only if the enemy already is in melee range.

Here I have a throwable weapon equipped and I'm hovering the mouse over an enemy in melee range, and the default action is a melee attack:

If I click on the Attack main action, nothing changes:

Here I'm hovering over an enemy that is not in melee range, but that I can reach with my remaining movement. The default action is a movement + a melee attack:

If I click on the Attack main action, however, it defaults to a ranged attack with the throwable weapon (you can't see the mouse pointer, but the character isn't showing any predicted movement and I have disadvantage on the attack):

Funnily enough, the default action is movement + melee attack even if you can't reach the target:

Strap Yourselves In Serpent in the Staglands Shadorwun: Hong Kong Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
I used to be into more fantastical names when I was younger. I changed my mind hard after Pillars of Eternity came out with all of its retarded and unpronounceable crap.

But if 30 seconds into the game, when choosing your race, you can't hover over "dwarffe" to know that their kulkokikens are the best nagencrafters of all Southern Wablabidah, how can you truly get immersed in the world?

maybe people don’t know: any character can use wand of magic missile so if a merchant sell them: always buy.
because don’t require attunement and is the best backup nuke for who have no ranged option

is also great for reaction bait (if the enemy use reaction for shield can’t counterspell).
Is also great for forcing multiple conc ceck.

Hotfix 0.4.14b - Fixing them fixes

Hey there folks!

Apologies for the new hotfix to fix the previous hotfix, but the previous fix broke some fixes which made fixes not fix what they were supposed to fix.

... Alright more seriously, this Hotfix should simply prevent your game from lagging out / crashing when you open the minimap with M.

And that, friends, is why you ONLY put critical fixes in a hotfix. Because if you want to know what happened to the previous hotfix (0.4.14)...

As was said before, this doesn't have the budget for voice acting or cutscenes, and maybe even 3D graphics if that comes at the expense of everything else. It's all very awkward. It would've been better had that money gone into making less linear and more interactive maps. Prime example is the rune "puzzle" in the library. What was the point of that? It just tests if you have eyeballs in your face and your ability to click the mouse. I can only really recommend this game to a combatfag and tell them to only expect combat-dotted corridors. That's not bad in of itself, I guess? The budget could've been spent wiser methinks.

Also, where should I report bugs? For they are legion.

Steam forum bug section. Currently cannot progress after first fight in Wizard's Tower dialogue starts in combat mode so cannot choose dialogue options. Seems like others have the same problem.

If it's the same wizard tower that I just completed, i.e. the second mission, then fortunately I didn't run into that bug.

There is no in-game bug report feature?
Nope, there isn't.
