The unique point of sorcerer on 5e is metamagic which IDK why WoTC took alway it from Wizard.
But how is it different from regular upcasting?

Upcasting has effects specific to the spell--generally just increased dice. Metamagic allows you to modify other parameters like range, duration, casting speed, etc. You can also use them to regain spent spell slots for additional casting. See the sorcerer class features here. They cost "Sorcery Points", which is a fungible resource used to apply metamagic effects. They can be used on the fly irrespective of upcasting. For example, lets say your sorcerer wanted to make a more powerful Fireball. They could use a Level 4 spell slot to increase the damage dice then spend 1 sorcery point reroll low damage dice rolls, and spend another 3 points to impose disadvantage on the targets. The metamagics are fairly worthwhile and do give nice flexibility and improvements. While the merits are debatable, multiclassing your Wizard to have 3 levels of Sorcerer for access to metamagic is a solid choice.

-> Fear not however, as you will find all the challenge you wish for once we implement higher difficulty options when version 1.0 hits the store.

Hopefully they will keep their promises. Common, not all of us are casuals, some actually enjoy games without handholding and with a little of challenge.

Guys, I was playing solasta and the "squares" indicating where my fireball will blow up and where I can move disappeared. How I make it re appear?

I'm upset about the lighting system change for the simple fact that the "let's modernize(casualize)" crowd is getting their way. If developers start changing everything these people complain about, there would be an insta win button on every keyboard and the game would be stripped of everything that could possibly inconvenience anyone in any way that gaming would cease to exist and would just become movie 2.0. Also, the lighting made it so certain enemies had to be tackled in different ways with different strategies and required some preparation for battles. Darkness made it feel like the enemy had the advantage and that you were fighting on their terms, on their home turf. Even if they add an optional lighting toggle, the feature wouldn't gain as much attention as it deserves. This crowd that cries about every inconvenience might even start complaining about verticality because their warrior without a bow isn't as useful in some battles.

It is not bad that bads complain, they always do and they always will. It is bad that developers listen to them.

I was expecting challenging game where you fight monsters in their dark lair, so of cause they have advantages since they are defenders. Would make sence that you would fight on uneven terms.

For the keys thing: Normally it's for the backers, but we're not here to police you guys - so if you want to gift the key to a friend to spread the word of Solasta, sure why not. Just don't go around trying to sell it, that would be a massive dick move.

Hey Myzzrym, can I send you a picture of my cat for your next update? Or are only developers' cats allowed? In that case, can I still send you a picture of my cat? Thanks.

And, since we are already here, what character would you like to be in my next party? Usually you're my halfling rogue, but I'm open to suggestions.

Sorry NJ, we're only featuring the staff in those Dev Updates - so pets from the staff only. I'm sure your cat is adorable and you can still put a picture here so we can all enjoy :D

As for who I am, well IRL I'm not that tall (1m65) so Halfling sounds about right. Not too roguish though, I'd like to think I'm big brain but I'm probably dumb as fuck and have 8 INT IRL. Eh fuck it just make me a rogue or ranger and have me hang around in the back with a bow or something.

Sounds like a bard with high CHA and skilled both in Persuasion and Deception. Oh, and Animal Handling too, haha.

Not autistic enough to create a Kickstarter for a fake game to post the cat picture in an update, or better, to create a game to create a Kickstarter for it to post the cat picture in an update so it has as much savour as the other ones, I'm disappointed.

Guys, I have very sad news. I'm sorry to inform you that Ontopoly is no longer Jump:

I'm here if you need to talk about it.

Anyway, the QoL improvements of this update show that the devs are people who understand the game they are making. Obviously it still isn't perfect and there are many small details that should be addressed (for example, just let me select all the items I want to identify at once, instead of forcing me to cast Identify as a ritual multiple times, and give me a way to skip the pointless waiting time on the world map between one day of travel and the next: looking at a green bar progressively depleting isn't much fun), but everything is going in the right direction. And when I say everything, I mean it: people here are criticizing them for listening to the complaints about the lightning rules, but how can you criticize someone who just decided to just be more faithful to the source material? Especially when they already stated that they plan on bringing back the "harsher" rules on lightning with difficulty settings.

I an sad that they reverted the lightning system but lets be real. Solasta still by far the BEST 5e adaptation and I honestly liked everything that they homebrew(contrary to Larian). BTW, I reached lv 6 yesterday and started to fight the vampire army on the Wizard's tower. The game must have a way to reduce the number of enemies, otherwise I will win after spending a couple of hours against this monsters.

Believe or not, my 3 cleric's daylight spell wearied off, the encounter is huge and when the "squares" disappeared, I decided to exit the game.

I will probably go back when they launch tier 4 spells.
