It's almost like a small handheld doesn't have as much horsepower as a full size computer.

Edit: bah demo froze on me infinite loading upon transitioning to an arena fight. One more check mark in the should just play the DS version column. At least it autosaves while navigating town menus. Seems like it's specific to one fighter(maybe more certainly didn't test them all) in the second town.

it has menu bugs (pick 1 arena fight, but some sort of mouse hover/selection bug picks another arena rival), and of course the infinite load
I think some of the models of wanzers aren't included in the demo, when I played it when it first came out certain ones of them just caused the demo to hang up on an infinite blank loading screen. Sounds like they just patched it by making arena pilots with those wanzers unselectable.

C'mon, it's normal price for games. As long as you can pirate it, the cost is voluntary.

On the other hand, they should price it as a bundle, and eventually add remakes into it.

Game runs perfectly on ryujinx, I love FM2 a lot even though I finished it back in the day with having only the general understanding of the story(because the translation patch was only partial) - it still gave me heavy Patlabor vibes and became my second favourite FM
Loving everything about this remake so far(except for the portraits - it's a crime what they did to the original Jun Suemi style)

FM2 is a must play game anyway and this is the best version of it

A suprising number of AI bugs as I progress further - some enemies with obvious specific acting scenarios to them dont act at all and just stand still - making these missions laughably easy. Hopefully this will be fixed by the time of PC release
And I don't think this is an emulation issue, because the enemies acting wrong are always the same

It's a shit developer issue, hence why playing the PSX version with the event translation readme at your side is still the better option.

Still annoys me Squeenix decided to put this series into the hands of such hacks. I won't pay a dime to them despite how much I love Front Mission. They decided to raise the series from the dead, only to murder it a second time. So depressing this is the only way we'll ever get a fully integrated translation of FM2.

PS1 FM2 looks like smeared mess 90% of time and although some bugs and lack of polish ARE annoying in the remake I can't see myself choosing PS1 version over it

So, Second looks better than the disappointing first entry. I understand they're adding studios on top of their in-house dev and the third installment will be remade by the same guys who did the Panzer Dragoon remaster, which, although it had problems, I think was competent enough. That said (I have not played them yet, though), both games still look worse than the originals, but the increment in quality is enough to make me hopeful for number three, which is what I'm all in for.

For those who are let down, is it a purist view or are the remakes genuinely bad games?

Well, for starters they apparently couldn't even be asked to do the one single thing that should have at the very least been done well in the first official English release of FM2

Goes on to say
After a few missions, it's just not even worth playing. It really kills me but the battle animations are terrible in comparison to the PS1 version, the translation is awful, the menus are laggy and the UI is baffling. It even lacks the difficulty options from the 1st remake
I don't have a Switch and wouldn't buy it on PC anyway, so I can't give a first-hand account. Just looking at it and the first remake is enough to put me off.

Who knows what they did to butcher the gameplay of the second. The first Front Mission's gameplay was always fairly mediocre to begin with, so they couldn't have fucked that one up too bad in that department, I guess.

Is it my impression, or did they tone down the colorful graphics on the FM1 Remake? The color palette seems to be more on the gray side for FM2...
