$1.7m Goal : Enemy limb dismemberment, More puzzles, Ammo types/weapon settings, Vending machines, Basic crafting/research, RPG leveling with perks/skills, Weapon upgrading, Hardcore mode (No respawning), Ironman mode (Only 1 savegame. If you die, the save is deleted)
DON'T GIVE THEM MORE THAN 1.7 MILLION

Haha, I guess we move this thread to GRPG if that stretch goal is reached.

Also, special voiced audiologs placed in the game as a backer reward for those who have nothing better to do with their money. Getting PoE flashbacks yet?

I will pack up every single one of them without reading into box and shoot it into space where it belongs.

Yeah, yeah. I want it to succeed, but not too well. The orchestral music is bullshit (the R&B stuff is good, though), and I don't actually want those stretch goals. $75 it is.

Will try the demo tomorrow.

I hope this gets funded, but that it doesn't reach its stretch goals. I fear all the new shit they are promising and throwing in will disrupt the levels and gameplay balance.

At $750 a pop I don't think that will be as much of an issue as in PoE.

We cheering for remakes now?

You have fun with that. I'll be back here playing something that isn't a blatant cash grab *sounds of large door closing on hydraulics as the System Shock 1 intro starts playing*

There's 6 in so far. Already too much. I had enough of PoE backer text after the third one with the lesbian couple.

Hopefully they will be easily identifiable so we can skip them and only focus on the actual game relevant ones.

It's only at $75k so I'll hold off on any celebrations at the moment.

If it doesn't get funded today, it won't.

I disagree on that. This has more mainstream game "reporting" than most Kickstarters have had in awhile now so as they start spreading the news so to speak this will probably have some longer term push going for it.

On the upside, audio logs from backers will certainly evoke a feeling of horror, dread and disgust while you're playing it.

I expected them to be voiced by backers as well so as much as I hate the idea, it still could've been much, much worse.

On a slightly different note: I like the NOLF poster sitting in the background.

Someone here should pledge enough for the audiologs and write some stupid white propaganda in open Codex style :mrpresident:

EDIT: 80.000...

Eh, it's limited to 20 backers as even the higher tiers don't seem to include it.

I found System Shock 2 so boring I didn't even bother finishing it. Not sure an update of the original would be any more appealing to me.

INB4 SHODAN turns out to be his waifu.

Though I think it would be cool if a Chris Avellone would be counted among the dead on Citadel Station. "Killed by his own creation", or "Died doing what he loved", or something like that.

In the next months, I'm expecting at least one thread per day in the Codex™ about complaints against the original System Shocks :avatard:

Project: Eternity Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pathfinder: Kingmaker
Played the demo thing, was not impressed.

There are several red flags: The long animations whenever you pick up a new item/weapon, the crate opening animations.
On top of that, movement feels way slower and so does attacking. Sparq beam seemingly only has two settings, and to switch between them you have to watch an animation.

It feels way more like bioshock in space than system shock. There's even little things, like the ladder climbing animations or everything having tiny buttons to click instead of just clicking the object.

Seems the devs either do not understand, or do not care for the fact that system shock was an action game first and foremost.
