Perhaps a silly question but here it comes. How do you use those "steam" items that keep dropping in main campaign? It reqiures steam-tech or something. It was, iirc in the dlc, how one gets it in main game?

The classes that utilize those can be used in the maingame after you finish the Ork sequel campaign once

Tinkers in the main campaign are unlocked by completing a certain outpost at least two times as a tinker class if not mistaken.
In addition to classes themselves this will also unlock a new escort type who can reward you with an access to their crafting skill trees. Certain items like "Fatal Attractor" or "Kinetic Stabilizer" can be very useful on a couple of classes.

What a fantastic game. Doombringer Dwarf level 30, some things I learned:

- Dont pump just 2 major stats. I put some points in CON this time and it made everything much easier.
- It's VITAL to regularly "update" your runes and inscriptions with better ones you find
- It's VITAL to customize your skills bar with automatic activations of skills (such as buffs activate when you see the enemy, etc.)
- Play better and don't be cocky. Snipe around corners if you have to.
- If reflected damage is killing you (foes with shield skills, etc.) might be better to not attack during your turn and wait for cooldowns on heals
- If you're melee like me you'll need at least one skill to cut distance quickly like Rush or possibly even more (for when you're fighting temporal mages who teleport you around)
- Assign all your points on level up if you want to survive. Don't wait if you want to survive
- Unlock additional inscriptions with talent category points, thank me later
- Sounds stupid but don't get surrounded

I wouldn't say it's very important. The stat you should pump up which isn't among your main attributes is constitution.

You pump Will on someone like Bulwark only if you want to make use of Zigur anti-magic from what i understand.

High willpower helps to sustain antimagic shield. Also Paradox or Equilibrium resource based classes need high willpower to reduce a chance to lose turn or getting anomaly.

Mindslayers use willpower for determining DMG from their weapons.

I mean aside from being a hard requirement for certain classes.
requirements can, and should, be met with items anyway. For example hitting 50 magic on trapper/poisoner rogue

Can someone explain digging?

What am I supposed to dig and why? I see some details on walls in dungeons, what about that?

Can I find treasure or secrets that way? Whats the point?

Also what is the point using Rod of Recall, if it takes 40 turns to channel?

You can pass time fast by pressing Z or mashing keypad 5 or whatever, or just running back and forth. As for digging there are some dungeons that are underground in sand so you can dig walls.

There are some areas that have extra enemies or treasure behind diggable walls. It's usually pretty obvious where those are.
On the stupid hard difficulties people also tunnel out kill zones they hide in to force mobs to approach single-file.

You can dig some chokepoints but unless you're on highest extreme difficulties it's not really mandatory to use.
Some classes have abilities that can destroy walls or bypass them entirely by turning into a ghost or by teleporting from one side of the wall to another.
Also what is the point using Rod of Recall, if it takes 40 turns to channel?
Saving you the slight hussle of having to run back towards the exit, there is a few rare dungeons that bar your exit and you're meant to use RoR here.
Can also be kidnapped by demons, requires starting as one their DLCs classes.

To complement what Kabas said: you dig zigzag patterns, ideally before combat, as digging can take a while, to deny enemy LoS. The purpose is to enable corner sniping (usually aided by Track, or similar) and avoid mass missile/AoE. The common wisdom is that you shouldn't bother with it unless playing on insane and above. I find it extremely boring and cheesy and only ever go for it in extreme desperate situations while playing archmages (who have an innate digging talent available).

The rod is a convenience, the timer is there to prevent it from being used in combat situations. You click it, press the rest key and it will go off instantly if not interrupted. it's way quicker than walking back. You can later alter where it will take you to.

If you meant digging in general then yes, it's rarely used to find loot, also sometimes to get out of a bind, such as in the sandworm lair. It's usually referred to as the technique I described above.

RoR is a convenience item (press R after having used it). Sometimes even mandatory (alternate Maze). Digging is for finding treasure and cheesing the high difficulties by zigzagging in the walls to lure mobs single file. I don't bother with digging for loot because it's usually gems, cash and low quality items.

So regarding digging,

Today I actually found secret sections in most Dreadfell floors with Track and digging. They were full of uniques

Digging also helped me on one floor to bring an Escort to the portal (just behind the wall). Those Escorts are so hard to keep alive

I was also surprised to have met an Escort going BACKWARDS through Dreadfell levels. Didnt know that was possible

I think the ruined dungeon which spawns progressively stronger bosses (the orb puzzle) is even worse than the room of death tbh
