Is paying the the blacksmith 4000 gold and the Ankheg shell worth it, cause that’s a shitton of money and I don’t know how long it takes for him to prepare the armor.
Ankheg shell armor is easily the best armor in the entire game(BG1), I used it all the way to the end of SoD on my cleric/fighter.
It has incredibly low AC but isn't magical therefore you can wear a +2 AC jewelry with it making it outclass anything else.
BTW, you can pick up a set of it in Nashkel on the farm in the bottom left. It's hidden there somewhere.

I remember that in the classic version at least, Ankheg Plate Mail counts as magical, which makes it worse than Full Plate. For a new player, who doesn't know where the best gear is, it's easily worth it though.
It's also has a very low STR req, which means that Viconia can wear it.

Ankheg armour is only surpassed by full plate. Same AC but full plate has better hidden bonuses. However, ankheg is much lighter, which means that weaker characters can use it.

Since you get a free set, unless you are running plenty of fighter types, there really isn't any reason to make one. You are better off
selling the shell to the blacksmith in Beregost
.

What level do you recommend for the Red Wizards? Because, even with dispel magic and protections I can’t do it. I’m a level 5.

I do have the Wand of Monster Summoning, so I can try that I guess. Oh, shit the Monster summoning wand sucks cause of SCS I’m guessing because I thought you could summon a shitton but the mod fixed it I think.

I think someone said, uncapped summoning was only for BG1 original vanilla, BG2 caps it, you can still remove the cap with BG2/Anthlogy tweaks.

Is there another way to do this fight?

You can let them waste their spells on the summons one by one. I like having a Cleric summon skeletons since they are good against magic and tanking in general.

I got 4 Skeletons. But SCS makes them target my fighters instead and my cleric.

5th level is a bit low to try to tackle 3 wizards. You need a way to strip their protections, and I doubt you have Spell Turning and similar spells yet. Dispel Magic isn't reliable.

Nope I have none of that, so I’ll wait until I get those spells then.

Your 4 summoned skeletons attacking your own party? I think that's bugged.

I’m confused on how to progress to Baldur’s Gate I’ve killed a lot of bandits and turned their scalps in. Is that the quest or am I supposed to find a specific place cause my map is pretty much crowded at this point.

If you mean after Nashkel, you have to find the bandit camp. Baldur's Gate the city is the last 25% of the game.

Well, having Edwin in your party will make a difference.
But it is one of the fights that increase most in difficulty with SCS installed. You'll need quite a lot of spell power.

You are supposed to find a specific place.
Have you explored the two forest areas east of the Inn? Peldvale and another.

I have explored Peldvale, Larswood and the Red Mages place which are all North East like the old guy said but I haven’t found any camp. I’ll keep looking.

I think you are supposed to talk to the guy in the inn in Beregost first and then head there to get the Bandits area.

No, you need to talk the guy on the top floor in Feldspar (?) Inn. Read the letters you found after killing Mulahey at the bottom of the mines.

I haven't been reading all the letters I've gotten partially because the text is so small, my bad.
