Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
General question: have Beamshit finalized the game yet? I bought it from them because I heard modding was simpler than the GOG version, but just remembered today that I don't have up to date versions of all IE games. Assuming I ever play them and not the originals.

I think only difference between Beamdog's version and others is having SoD installed will cause mods fail at installing unless you use a merger or use a Modtool like BWS-EE which will download and install everything automatically.

Someone made another mod tool that maybe will work with the original games as well I think but not too sure. Project Infinity.

And BWS has been dead since earlier this year. I think future modding will be using project infinity instead.

This fight is obviously the pre-curser to the stag lord in Kingmaker, so I believe there might be a trick.

That's for the outdated old BWS that supported too many games. It's dead.

The one that Xeon mentioned is focused on EE and EET and is very much up-to-date.

The Project Infinity is alpha status still and not much better than manual installation. Besides you must be expert for mod sequence and conflicts without any aid provided by the program.

The SCS Bandit Camp fight is one of the best CRPG fights ever.
Yea I tried going in the main tent invisible then attacking, didn’t work. Tried approaching from 4 different angles, and the 4th worked, definitely pretty awesome. Also is Durlag’s tower doable at level 6 or is that level 8 endgame?

If you got creamed by bandits, I wouldn't recommend it at level 6. Also depends primarily on how you've built your thief and what equipment they have - like potions.

You can do the upper floors (the overground ones) of Durlag's at lvl 6 no problem. You can get some nifty stuff from there, otherwise, yeah, it's an endgame area.

Jesus made it into Baldur’s Gate the city is fucking huge. It took me a lot longer to get here, I thought I was going to be able to when I did the bandit camp... but finally I can buy haste and fireball.

So, I just started BG2.
In the first 5 mins I want to kill Imoen already. Holy shit, I heard rumors about how annoying she was but I didn’t think it was this bad. I’ll probably kill her her off.

It can be tough and challenging for lvl 5-6 chars, but I wouldn't call it that memorable, since there aren't that many ways to tackle it at that point.

Usually it takes one char with wand of fire, and second with that fireball potion or two, and you have the archers decimated.
On whoever survives this, you dump horror/hold person and let your melees/archers do the rest. I cannot recall using any potions at all.

More challenging for me was that fucking Icharyd dude an Ulcaster.

You won’t have to deal with it for most of the game

How did you enjoy BG1 playing it today? I always wonder if I only love these games out of nostalgia or if they’re really as good as I think they are

How? She's the focal point of the entire... of most the story. She can't be killed. She's the key to all of this, because she's a more interesting character than we've ever had.

Have fun spending 15 thou or whatever out of pocket just to bail her essential ass out. :salute:

And then she dies in the very first trap you encounter after you free her. The only (I think) trap in the whole game which will always kill you. Coincidence?
