At that point you have a feeling you're approaching the end of the game, and the last time the game made you report back to the adventurer's guild was in mid-game IIRC ( lot of time ago ).. so if you've beaten the before-last boss, that's pretty much your hint that going back to Skara Brae is a no return and you better complete all the side quests you want, before doing so.
I'll assume "the before-last boss" is obvious unless you say otherwise. Normally I wander around killing stuff, I don't register how many bosses I have left before the credits.

(what music and puzzles???)
Are you joking? Depending on which buff your Bard was currently rocking, different music would play throughout the game. It's kind of a deal and absolutely a signature of the series.

Yeah, it was pretty obvious to me at least. And IIRC it has a "cutscene" so you can't really mistaken it.

I think we might be misunderstanding one another. The songs are an important part of the mechanics of BT, but I can almost certainly guarantee that none of the reviews for BT4 are referring to that when they say "music." They are referring specifically to the sing-along parts of BT 2004, as it's one of the few things people liked about that one.

If we aren't misunderstanding each other, then feel free to disagree :salute:

It's not my job to read the minds of reviewers. When they say that music has always been important to the series, they are correct, regardless of whether they're thinking of 1985 or 2004 or their grandma's last birthday party.

Are we getting a patch today? They've gone completely silent. I actually want to play the fucking game I paid for.

Nah, I'm just hoping for something that fixes most gamebreaking bugs and makes it not run like absolute garbage.

They should not have released this game in this state. They needed more testing and also a better project manager. This is indie release disgrace material. It's a shame. The game could have been so much better, and they could have had such a better release. It boggles the mind to think what caused them to release in such a state.

Indeed.
Well, so far I was able to play without too many bugs and the performance is mostly bearable.
Still, they botched their launch, hard.
Sad, since it's actually a fun game behind the prosperesque performance issues.

FYI on IRC channels Bard's Tale IV is more pirated than Pathfinder Kingmaker.

It doesn't matter how many people are talking about it on IRC channels because the fact is Kingmaker is torrented more than Bard's Tale IV. Almost 6 times more. On all torrent sites.

Bellow are the stats for RARBG (the S/L ratio is pretty much the same on all the major torrent sites).

So, the FYI was just another lie from Goral. I guess he cannot help himself.

@ 29GB game and 20GB patch.

Luckily when I downloaded it from GOG, it was "only" 29GB altogether (already the fully patched version). If the patch alone is 20GB I'd rather redownload the whole thing and avoid possible patching errors. I've always had better experience with clean reinstalls.

What's the point of Unreal if it's now no better than Unity?

If you are waiting for the "final version" before you play, best to shelve it for a while and stop holding your breath.

Tides of Numenera was supported for 2 1/2 months, so it won't be that long.

The console ports don't seem to have been cancelled, and the team still have months of optimization work ahead of them if they want to make this game run on older PS4s/Xbones.

They also need to supply Mac/Linux versions as part of the Kickstarter, and they can't confirm that they have the manpower to deliver them this year. This could drag on for quite a while.

Does UnrealEngine4 have 1-click-export-to-any-platform? I thought they added this after Unity made the first step in that direction. It shouldn't take too long to make a Linux, Mac, Console release then. Probably 3 months. The most work will be consoles because they need to adjust the input controls, but other than that I doubt much will be changed or optimized. I expect the game to be supported for approximately 6 months (the 3 months for possible console release already included), and then it's over.

The console versions are just a matter of pride to Fargo. They wont sell shit. However they enable him to say his game is on Playstation like its somekind of a merit. Before going to some cuck developer party he probably looks himself in the mirror and says "Brian, remember your on playstation, Brian".

Performance wise it runs a bit better for me (a stable 5 fps as a plus) after the last released patch. I think it even looks a bit better. But could be just the added FOV slider.
