Yeah. Also there used to be a mod for DSFix I think that slightly changed the networking and the result was that the first summoning signs you'd see would always be the ones from your friends. But that was for when the game was on Windows GFWL or whatever it was called. I'm not sure they continued the mod for when the game got on Steam.

well im using ds fix so if it is there it would work by now. I heard DS Fix causes crashes in online games and I've experienced that in almost everytime I summoned another player.

it wasn't for dsfix, afaik, it was just a dll injector like it. they didn't continue to work on it as i'm not even sure such a thing is possible on steam without getting banned, and people assumed it would work that way anyway

sullynathan a good idea would be to install ds pvp watchdog, as it can increase the pool size of available nodes to connect to (default is 20, even though people assumed for the longest time that it's 30-32... which i think is the theoretical limit), and you see exactly to how many people you're connected at any given time (it also detects cheaters that you can instantly kick, but that's a minor thing, imo) so it's easier to see if the game is acting up (sometimes it just won't connect to anything so you have to restart the whole game)

rating messages has yet to be confirmed to have any kind of reward. the "random" +1 humanity you get is from defeating enemies when the boss is still alive, as pointed out by Mikayel Murk, while the "random" +1 estus is from other people kindling the bonfire near your current position, as pointed out by Bester (and not "last bonfire you used" like Murk said)

Yeah, I wrote 'were at' but I guess I should have said the one you were near that was lit instead of 'rested at'. At least, I think you have to light it for it work.

I'M FUCKING REINVENTING MYSELF OK M8

Alright so I beat Kellogs and the stray demon. Kellog was easy but was very exciting in the 2nd time I fought her and she literally had 1 small bar of health and one shotted me. The stray demon is really really annoying, took me forever to finally kill it.

Blighttown was not as difficult as people said it was. I was dissapointed when the butcher invaded me when I was in the acid place under blighttown and she died in three hits.

Gonna buy the crest of artorias with my souls

yeah, that shit killed me in the 2nd time I fought her when I was this close to killing her. I literally needed one more hit to kill her and she did that stupid shit. Beat her in the third try though.
Can't help but feel like a lot of my boss fights from now on will consist of me just circling around the enemy.

I have no idea what the fuck he's wielding there. It's like a modded and upscaled version of the Astora Straight Sword.

is the crest of artorias worth it?
Yes. Without it you can get to the other side of the door, but it'll require defeating a boss, fighting off a number of tough but easily exploitable and unique enemies and just an awful lot of running. Oh, and the closest bonfire is a very, VERY long run if you don't open up the door.

Can anyone help me find the hand and a half sword? I'm having some trouble locating it.

He playing with some kind of mods so you probably won't find that stuff in the base game. As Caim said it looks like a larger version of the Astora straight sword. The move set is straight swords but I don't recall any being that big -- they're all about the size of a longsword.

Haha. Somebody hasn't found a secret door it seems. It's just near the door you're speaking about, try poking around a little.
I know of that one. Now consider getting to the other side of the door without opening it, how far of a run that is from the nearest bonfire. I reckon it's the one in the Darkroot/Valley of Drakes tunnel.

:yeah:
Game is really great.
I beat the grey wolf sif after my 5th try. This bitch was tough but nothing I couldn't handle. Disappointed that I couldn't get the giant sword but whatever. I also reached hydra area and fought the crystal golems, they're weak but look cool with cool attacks. The real kicker was fighting Havel and beating him. He killed me twice with his one hit attacks but his armor is pretty cool. His ring is so far the best item I have gotten in game. I can finally use heavy armor with little penalties.

I'll be fighting the hydra soon and I'm skipping sen fortress currently for the DLC area.

This bitch
You realize Sif only fought you, because he was a dear friend and companion to Artorias? Artorias saved Sif when they fought something dark in Oolacile. He saved Sif at the cost of his own life, and became corrupted by the dark. Sif was simply guarding his master's tomb and you came to disturb it. And also Sif didn't want you to go and get corrupted like Artorias, so he tried to fend you off.

I remember when I fought Sif, every whimper he made was like a lash on my conscience. But when he started limping, but kept fighting, that was just too fucking much. The saddest thing in the entire series.

I guess it's good you didn't know any of it when you fought him.
