I only summoned help for Queelag, because I really, really did not enjoy Blighttown and wanted to leave as soon as possible. Other than that I soloed all of the bosses, and intend to keep it that way.

Also if you figure out how to cheese the boss there w/ arrows like you wanted to w/ Kalameet, don't do it, we wanna see you die + rage mkay.:M
Do I smell cheese? Mmm. Yummy, yummy, cheese.

Randomly getting humanity: if you haven't killed the area boss yet, then every x enemies you kill gives you +1 soft humanity (the one in the counter). This required amount to kill goes up as you get more humanity, but you could theoretically leave some optional boss like Taurus alive and just farm humanity that way (would be faster to kill rats in depths, tho.)

Upboats from messages give you humanity too, but the estus flask use means that someone kindled the last bonfire you were at. The first one works offline, the other two have to be online for it to work.

Is this rat boss optional and how long till I find another fucking bonfire from the depths?
whats the deal with randomly getting back estus flasks or humanity?

People up-voting your suggestions/hints you leave.

I've yet to put down a suggestion.

that makes sense

I don't think that's true...since you can leave a "Help Me message".

Which gives you an estus (Edit: When someone up votes it..usually seen before a boss, but not always).

I beat the gaping anus on my second try with solaire and the other guy. It seems that they die way too quickly for the fight. I finally used my humanity but I am hearing that your character is supposed to be invaded by some random at this point, it has yet to happen to me though because I played as undead for most of the lower undead borg until the boss fight.

Should I buy this crystal weapon with only 60 durabilty? By this point, it will be more powerful than my drake sword but at the same time, the durability is too low. same for the adventurer set.

If you killed the boss, then you won't be invaded anymore. Same guy invades you in 2 other spots tho, so you can still fight him.

Also, bosses hp/damage goes up as you summon NPCs. For example, summoning Solaire and Lautrec then IMO it's a harder fight than just going solo against the varginer dragon.

You cannot repair crystal weapons. If they wear down it's permanent.

Also, beware that summoning help for boss fights increase the HP the boss has. So if they bite the dust soon you're in for a tough battle.

sullynathan don't bother with the crystal weapons he sells. try out some of the weapons you have collected (just try to use all the available moves, perhaps on the hollows near the blacksmith at the undead parish. since you collected the +10 Ember it's a really good idea to go see him now before you go down in blighttown) to see if there's one that suits your taste 'cause if you have some decent stats (20-25 or more in str and/or dex) the regular weapons should be close to the drake sword at +5 already, and above that they should be clearly better (and most have a better moveset anyway)

rating messages has yet to be confirmed to have any kind of reward. the "random" +1 humanity you get is from defeating enemies when the boss is still alive, as pointed out by Mikayel Murk, while the "random" +1 estus is from other people kindling the bonfire near your current position, as pointed out by Bester (and not "last bonfire you used" like Murk said)

so next stop Blighttown, eh?

Either you can beat them up reliably, or even reduction of theirs HP to 1/4 will not help you. (And offline summons are fun.)

Never understand people who are having trouble with mosquitos. Just fireball them, or if you don't have pyro, then firebombs, they are cheap as fuck, you should have no problem stocking 99 of them before going into depths, where you should also be using them on the damn frogs at the least.

Reading these tips always makes me feel like I'm retarded. I've never used any items like firebombs, dung pies, poison knives or whatever. I just meleed my way through the entire game and now I feel like I didn't experience it right.

The Souls games are the only ones I dont feel the slightest bit guilty by cheeseing in any way available; arrows, bombs, poison, glitches etc
The series has a reputation for beign hard, but it also gives you a ton of options for making things easier is you have the smarts and creativety

Do you at least understand the way matchmaking works?
Dark Souls II Scholar Of The First Sin does have a way more active online than DS1 however. It also has a special ring that you can use to connect easier among friends. Definitely better as online game. DS1 on the other hand is a superior single player game.

I know you use the soap stone to leave a sign that will allow someone else to summon you so me and my friend tried to do that but he could never find my soap stone.
