it's not heartseeker, it's the fact that you can move around fastest and simply cap all the points. and you still can win most 1on1 encounters.

In tournament you want one guardian and as many mesm0rs as you can pack. Mesm0r are completely out of whack, especially on kyhlo where their portals allow them to insta-repair trebuchet. 3 mesmers on graveyard renders it completely uncappable simply because they can stall you long enough that whoever dies will have respawned and returned before you stomped his buddies.
Also, very few fights in tourney are 1 on 1 after Niflhel, since it'll be teams who got voicecomms. Most people build tanky enough to stall you until their buddies can show up.

top tournament build would be something like 2 thiefs 2 mesmers 1 guardian guardian holds far point one mesmer each on the close points thief roams

the whole format is complete bogus really, i am off to other games until they come up with another format. i doubt they ever will, since the core game mechanics are kina prohibitive for proper pvp...

I'd go 1 guardian, 2 mesmer, 1 engi, 1 thief. Thief could be substituted for a glass cannon warrior.
Niflhel, guardian holds keep, engi holds mine/henge, mesmers kill boss then collapse on keep, thief/warrior tries stealing enemy boss. 1 mesmer stays with guardian, other mesmer and thief/warrior roams to help hold points.
Foefire everyone but engi goes graveyard. Engi holds sidepoint. One mesmer portals back and forth between grav and sidepoint if need be.
Kyhlo, guardian goes clock, engi goes mill/manor. One mesmer on treb for instant portal repair, other mesmer roams. Warrior/Thief goes for enemy treb whenever it's up. Just ignore whoever's defending it, run straight at treb and burst it down. It's actually for kyhlo I'd bring the thief instead of a glass cannon warrior, since infiltrator's arrow lets you take shortcuts to treb. Warrior would burst it down faster but thief is more likely to get there without being CCed.

Actually, on that topic, how would you rate the professions in terms of sPVP usefulness? From worst to best I think it's:

8: Ranger - Doesn't really do anything others don't do better
7: Elementalist - Might be sleeper OP since AoE could wreck mesmer images and combo fields can be quite good in teamfights. But it takes a really, REALLY good ele to pump out the same usefulness as an average something else
6: Necro - Takes a ridiculous amount of time to kill because of shroud. But seems to do very little when alive. Scales really well with a venomshare thief tho.
5: Engineer - Can pack a ridiculous amount of CC. Bunker engineers are quite solid point defenders and their dps is ok too
4: Thief - Backstab baller or venomshare seem to be the most useful builds. Although BB is abusing a flaw in the stealth system that'll hopefully get fixed soon.
3: Warrior - Glass cannon warrior is the most reliable NPC-killer on foefire/niflhel. If you can pick out the right mesmer in the swarm he'll also completely ruin their day
2: Guardian - One is great. 2 or more is superfluous. A really solid point defender and practically mandatory for clocktower in kyhlo. Works best in larger fights where he can AoE buff his allies. You don't see too many DPS guardians in tPVP since that's basically a slightly less efficient glass cannon warrior.
1: Mesmer - Utterly broken. Can pump out way too much damage for the time it takes to kill him off on a point. Portal effectively allows him to be two places at once on Foefire and makes him the only viable choice for treb on kyhlo. The only real counter to mesmer is noticing the one that moves eratically and marking it. But even that becomes semi-useless when 2+ mesmers are about. Also benefits from the stealth bug, possibly even moreso than a thief since he also gets additional dupes out while stealthed.

I thought Necro would be more useful in tPvP due to their ability to stack conditions and spread the aids, good thing I re-rolled if all they do is run around and not die

Problem with spreading aids is that most competent setups are going to have condition removal. But maybe I'm biased since I mainly run a guardian, so I ALWAYS have someone on my team who utterly wrecks condition builds.

Heck, the reason venomshare is so good is because leeching venoms basically makes all attacks do additional damage and heal.

guild wars always has been a game of shuffling conditions around, that's why denial/hex builds never really worked in GvG. it's hard to make conditions 'stick' and even if they could it'd take too long for them too work effectively. the necro was essentially broken in GW1 and so it is in GW2. You can really see that they tried hard with that class, considering it has 100+ bugs currently. at the end of the day they failed at it, again, though. in hindsight, had they not removed hex skills from the game, you'd probably be able to effectively DoT your enemy, considering he'd require specialized skills to deal with hexes (as opposed to condition shuffeling wich is everywhere).

At least GW1 necro was a blast to play on pve, on GW2 all I did was spam scepter 1 and get mad at the minion AI

I wish I had played it back in its prime. When I got around to buying the trilogy, the game was basically just people farming the HoM.

hate it at some points. when fighting a giant monster, i wish the cam lets me tilt the camera up to look at it.
it seems odd that the cam is focused on me looking at the legs at max zoom , I still can't see the whole dragon when engaging it at close range. It's like my character's neck is unable to tilt up n down. it's not perfect - has some niggling issues but mostly alright to me.

What do you guys recommend for gold farming?
I'm thinking of getting all the gem unlocks before the price increase sets in.

Gems were originally 25s for 100. Now it's 37s.
Got one slot done last night.
Gonna work on that tonight for another 2.

Whatever you are doing, buy low and sell high on the trade post in between quests/matches. I have more money then I know what to do with and character slots for all classes + 1 PvP slot. lvl 80 gold weapons have been the best for me, higher tier stuff is ususally not that big of a margin and doesn't sell fast enough. Runes are also decent. Buy anything that has a 40% margin, potentially less if it's an obviously popular item.

Now that I'm back from Estonia, I seriously started feeling "meh, whatever" about finishing even just one character in GW2. Especially after a session of STO with bros before going to Estonia and today after coming back. STO just does so many things plain better than GW2, on a fundamental level no less (most notably I don't feel like a clockwork monkey or a wallflower when I'm in combat). Just gotta bite the bullet next week (assuming I get enough HoI3 over the weekend) and try to muscle to the endgame, see if the dungeon bosses are as bad as Angthoron says (not to mention those drop rates, sounds like even the luck-drop bullshit of Elite STFs ain't got shit on this).
